Crystals have fallen out of the Dream Width in a beautiful meteor shower and scattered all over the world! Due to their origins and mysterious properties, the Curti Center is interested in gathering as many as they can for researching purposes. To incentivize the public in helping out, O'aka has donated a few silver coupons to those top few who collect the most crystals. There's also a rumor that the one person (or more if there's a tie) who collects the most, wins something marvelous and mysterious~

The hunt for these crystals have taken storm across Vaikuntha and they're suddenly worth a lot. It's all anyone talks about anymore! The locals have gone crazy with it! If you weren't interested to begin with, surely the madness that is this new fad has sunk its teeth in. Besides, who knows what the crystals can actually do? Are they gifts? Curses? Dust collectors? Only one way to find out.

That...was a very strange question to ask. He's not judging the hamster's choice by any means but that was sure threw Kenichi for a loop.

"130 years old," Kenichi stated. "Long story short, I don't age at the same rate as humans."

"Interesting," the hamster replies with a tilt of his head. He nods and seems to accept the answer. "Let's move one, shall we? Two more.

"Where are you from?"

"Ooh, another tricky one to explain." Kenichi mentally let out a sigh of relief once the hamster acknowledged his answer.

"I'm from a Earth as it seems there are several of them that exist. If you had to ask what makes mine unique, I'd say it'd have to be we have a separate but linked realm where magical beasts, souls of the departed and gods reside."

The hamster's ear twitches. "That's very interesting indeed. But let's continue. Last question.

"Lalafells have a unique naming system for themselves than the rest of Vaikuntha. How does this system work?"

For a second, Kenichi's face blanched. Of course, there had to be a tough question after all of that. He tries to recall the names of Lalafells he encountered from his airship piloting job and at the Stiletto. There surely had to be some sort of pattern.

"Uh, if I recall, it depends on the Lalafell's gender and it involved repeating something. Pretty sure the females all have repeating...syllables at the end of their names. I'm just...drawing a blank for the males."

It was at the tip of his tongue but he had to admit defeat there. Maybe he could get partial credit?

Hmmm... The hamster blinks up at Kenichi. Flash, meanwhile, is bouncing around in his hamster ball, eager to get this show on the road.

But the scholarly hamster falters. "I find you quite interesting and would despair to see you lose this challenge. You're awfully close, though. Are you sure you don't know? Or wouldn't rather take a guess?"

Good thing Kenichi was so damn intriguing, I guess.

"You're right," Kenichi cracked a small grin. "I have to at least try. Okay so..."

He starts to pace in a small circle, going over those names again. Surely he must be overthinking things. If female names ended with repeating syllables...Of course.

"Male Lalafell names start with repeating syllables?"

Hmm. The hamster stares up at Kenichi for a long moment before-

"I concede. Congratulations, you have earned yourself a Plasma Crystal."

Flash rolls away and returns hardly a second later, shoving a Crystal to Kenichi's feet.

"Thank you for your time," the scholarly hamster says. "You have one minute and thirty seconds to leave the island."

Wait, what-

Kenichi blinks and pockets the crystal that was left at his feet.

"Ah, you're welcome???" At the hamster's time limit, he quickly turned away, towards the coast and was very grateful he had the Dragoon asterisk equipped.

All he needed, or at least he hoped, was one Jump to put enough distance between him and the island. Surely a hamster couldn't reach a jumping Dragoon. Then again, Flash looked raring to go for the world's most terrible game of chicken so Kenichi wasn't going to take any chances here.
