Crystals have fallen out of the Dream Width in a beautiful meteor shower and scattered all over the world! Due to their origins and mysterious properties, the Curti Center is interested in gathering as many as they can for researching purposes. To incentivize the public in helping out, O'aka has donated a few silver coupons to those top few who collect the most crystals. There's also a rumor that the one person (or more if there's a tie) who collects the most, wins something marvelous and mysterious~

The hunt for these crystals have taken storm across Vaikuntha and they're suddenly worth a lot. It's all anyone talks about anymore! The locals have gone crazy with it! If you weren't interested to begin with, surely the madness that is this new fad has sunk its teeth in. Besides, who knows what the crystals can actually do? Are they gifts? Curses? Dust collectors? Only one way to find out.

He's not certain why he's come here. Supposedly, B'Alesia is relatively safe, but... does he really care that much about these damn crystals? He's come this far, surely to quit now would be stupid.

Apprehensively, he steps through the door. It calls to him.

The house isn't as silent as the outdoors. Wood creaks, metal squeaks, curtains flutter, but no wind is anywhere in the house.

There's a thumb, rhythmic, coming from the floor above. The wood creaks in time like someone's walking through the house very slowly. As soon as it seems apparent you aren't alone, the footsteps stop.

There are stairs leading up to the landing, as well as rooms to the right, left, and straight forward. The crystal could be anywhere.

The crystal could indeed be anywhere- but Kuja is not about to leave a potential threat unchecked. He [Focus]es, just in case, and heads up the stairs.

There's nothing upstairs. Or nothing that can be seen, rather. There are three doors to the right, all closed, and a window open at the far end of the hall. The curtain flutters in a breeze.

Something falls in the first room. The sound of the object rolling across the floor seems loud in this atmosphere.

Someone, Kuja reflects, is playing games. He can't afford to be distracted by this. He tries the first door.

When Kuja steps inside the room, he'll see a ball rolling across the floor. There's no furniture here, though, nothing where it could have fallen from. A closed closet but nothing more.

The door behind him slams shut, audibly locking. The walls began to move, rippling and swelling, the imprints of hands pressing against the wallpaper, reaching for Kuja. There's a sound similar to a tornado or train scouring through the room, nearly too loud to think.

He's already so tense, that when the door slams he actually jumps- but that's less of a problem than the walls moving. It's far too loud to think, so he doesn't- he just becomes a nova of flame, [Firaga] swirling around him like a wall.

The walls lurch back, the wallpaper burning away as the room turns back to normal. A totally normal room that's totally engulfed in flames.

There's a closed window to Kuja's right and the closet to the left. The closet wouldn't really be worth mentioning except that the doors had been blown away to show a Grey Crystal inside. It seems to be almost glowing with the fire despite the flames seemingly being unable to reach it.

Kuja takes the crystal. Quite enough of this for today, he thinks. Back downstairs- carefully.
