When: May 31st - June 04th
Where: The Dream Width (+ Curti Center & Airships)
What: Event log for the Once Upon A Dream Event! Should your character have their own memory, start your own top-level with said memory. If not, then tag around in other characters's memories! Furthermore, feel free to use the Mingle threads at the Curti Center and in the Airships for non-memory related CR. Please refer to the OOC Post for details and plotting. Plot Memories and the second Airship Mingle will be unlocked on May 25th.

He shook his head and looked away. "No. I don't have any friends..."

Which sounded wrong, while also sounding right at the same time. Oh god, this sucks, what's going on anymore? Why was he questioning himself so much now, when before he was always so sure and went with what his stomach told him?

Even if his stomach was full of butterflies right now.

"You... you sound really sure about that." His eyebrows furrowed.

"But my gut says you're right. That I should know you."

"You should know me, yeah. Does your gut know my name?" And then Hunk just starts smiling. Kanji's so close to putting it together! And realizing that one of his friends is standing right here!

"My name starts with an H, if that helps. Has a K in it." Is he looking a bit smug? Yeah. Because Hunk isn't exactly the sort of name a small-town Japanese kid would encounter. And he's even starting to look around, expecting the memory to fall apart and the cold, creepy void of the Dream Width to come back. That'd be just their luck.

Kanji scrunched his nose and stared at him. The name 'Hank' popped into his head, a name that didn't really happen around here, but even then, there was a double layer of wrongness to it.

His eyebrows lifted. "...Hunk?"

From high above was the sound of something delicate cracking. It echoed from the left and right as well.

"Wh-what's goin' on? What..." A hand flew to a temple and he cringed.

"Yep, there it is." Hunk just sighed, and moved to wrap an arm around Kanji. Hunk hasn't been the one lost in a memory, but he has to assume his pal's in a real uncomfortable spot. And they're gonna need to stay close once they're back in the Dream Width.

"Your brain figured out that this already happened. Well, kinda." Hunk looks around shiftily towards the sources of those cracking noises. "I wasn't here. Things probably went a bit differently." He nods sagely, even though he only has a vague idea of what's going on.

"But now that your brain knows something's wrong, the memory's breaking down." And then Hunk just chuckles, trying not to look too nervous. He has no idea where the airship is, after all. "How do you like the idea of being in weird magic space?"

"No, I... I ran away, mom got worried and called the cops to find me n' take me home. Then everything got messy. My folks were so pissed." It was all so clear to him that he shouldn't be here in Aiya, as much as he'd love one of their ramen bowls or a pile of pot stickers.

There was a rumble of thunder in the distance, and the sound of shattering glass, like a large mirror had fallen. With that sound, Kanji had gone from 10 to 16 again. None of this was real, he was going through one of his old memories again. So that left where the hell they REALLY were.

"Magic- wait, the Dream Width? We're in the freakin' Dream Width itself!?"

"You remember!" Hunk's voice is just a hair shy of a gleeful shout, and he gives Kanji a squeezing sort of side-hug. "Something went wrong, and people, like you, got pulled back into their memories. Until they realized they're in a memory, like now."

And then he just nods, and lets up on the hug. Still got an arm around him, though. "So we're gonna be floating out there in the Dream Width, and doggy-paddling might not work too well. Do you have any way to get around out there?" Hunk's other arm starts patting around his waist, trying to grab a gunblade that may or may not be there.

"If not, I can probably Magitek Laser us back to the airships."

He gave a surprised grunt with the side-hug (dude had some killer arm strength!), but could only frown at the realization that he'd been trapped in one of his own memories. What did that mean, though? What would happen if more new people showed up?

"Uh- m-maybe the schoolhouse has got a door back to the ship I was on somewhere? That's where it all started, right?"

Crap, if he was trapped in a memory, that meant too many others had to be, too. What happened if nobody came to get them? Would they be trapped there? Would it loop? He didn't wanna find out.

"Damn, I miss Aiya... let's get outta here before I get really frickin' hungry."

"Hmm...." Hunk just starts thinking, even as Kanji mentions going back to the school. "Some of the memories just kind of ended. But it's all weird magic, so I've got no idea." But then Hunk starts to jog back towards the school. The rumbling in his stomach is... absolutely unmistakable.

"But the school's a good place to start!" And then he looks to Kanji, and is the embodiment of sheepishness. Hunk's pretty much winging it, and he kinda feels bad, because it's starting to look obvious.
