What: Event log for the Once Upon A Dream Event! Should your character have their own memory, start your own top-level with said memory. If not, then tag around in other characters's memories! Furthermore, feel free to use the Mingle threads at the Curti Center and in the Airships for non-memory related CR. Please refer to the OOC Post for details and plotting. Plot Memories and the second Airship Mingle will be unlocked on May 25th.

[Of course Selphie wasn't about to let a newcomer panic about their new situation. Every single person who has come before them and will come after them will be met with the same trepidation as she smiles warmly for whoever sees this message next.]

Hey! I'm sure you're thinking that this is the worst possible day of your life but think about it this way; it could be way worse. You could be getting attacked by a Marlboro, for example! So if you were, congrats! You've successfully avoided a pretty nasty monster attack.

[All joking aside, Selphie looks at the camera with a reassuring look.]

Now, I know that this place is scary and maybe you were in the middle of doing something super mega important or maybe you were just heading to bed. The important thing to know is that you're not going to be alone in whatever comes to greet you on the road ahead.

Reach out to us if you ever need a hand, okay? Some of us will be more than willing to help a newbie! We're all in this together after all.

[A tall man with a forelock of white hair and short cut hair faces the viewer. His helmet patterned in black and white is tucked under his arm, it matches his armor. His expression is neutral and his voice when it breaks the silence is calm and measured.]

Before I tell you anything, take a second and breathe. [He waits with his eyes shut for a moment to pass and continues.]

There's no way gentle way to tell you what happened. I'll stick to the facts. You've been rescued from a space called the Dream Width. We don't know what causes us to come here or why, but this effects all timelines and realities. Whatever magic or technology that worked before likely doesn't now. We're investigating why that happens.

You and whoever else are rescued today will be assisted by the people of the Curti Center. Please treat them with courtesy. You'll be able to get some answers at the center but anything about your world and what's happening to it...those will have to go unanswered. [He dips his head briefly, his voice gentle.]

I wish I could tell you better news. [Shiro raises his head up, straightening as he stares directly into the screen and thus by design directly at the viewer.] Remember, you're not the first to arrive. People like you are already here and we'll help you as best as we can.

I know this is confusing and stressful. Please take the rest of the ride to recover and prepare. Get some sleep if you need it.

[ The screen flickers on to a bigger, wide set guy with yellow-and-white armor. Cradled against his chest is a helmet, which is holding a bag of chips. And based upon his gasp and hastened chewing, he's not ready for it to start recording! ]

S-sorry, they told us about people showing up and I had to skip lunch to get to the airships on time. [ He lets out a sheepish little giggle, and then looks back to the camera. ]

My name's Hunk, and lemme just say you're handling this a lot better than we were. [ And he starts laughing. ] It's okay if you're sad or scared or mad- we were, too. The natives will set you up with some temporary housing and you younger arrivals can start going to school again. But don't leave the towns, there are monsters out there!

The important thing is that we're all gonna try to help each other survive. And since people don't really know how to cook, I'm starting a show on Mognet! The Food Lion is gonna set you up so you're Pala-dining in style! And part of cooking monsters means beating them, so there'll be tips for that, too! I hope it's really helpful.

It should be coming to an iMog Slate near you sometime soon... unless we have to go deal with some monsters or the Dream Width or something. [ And he shrugs. ] Stay safe, and don't be a stranger! [ Then he waves for a moment before his hand dives back into the bag of chips, with a handful of chips halfway to his face before the video feed ends. ]

[ Euphemia understood what it must be like for anyone arriving and waking up. To deliver a message to new arrivals who might wake up feeling the same way she did. Maybe her words might help someone. She can only hope. Her expression shifts from worry to something a little more stoic. ]

You're probably afraid. Or maybe just ... stunned. Or you're just upset, lost ... and distraught. There's probably a lot of emotions you're going through right now. I can't claim to understand all of them, but I do understand the confusion you must have waking up to see everything you once knew and loved gone. I wish I could tell you this is all a dream, but ... you'll soon come to realize it's not. Please try to understand that all is not lost. It may seem it, but I assure you, this is not the end at all.


[ Her smile turns warm. ]

Just know that you're not alone. And while I am afraid I don't have any answers to the questions you must have, understand that once you arrive, there are people ready to help you. Very soon, you're going to arrive at a beautiful world thriving with aid, culture, and stories. It's unlike anything you might ever know, but it's an adventure waiting for you in learning. It's not what you wanted, I know. We all want to go back home. [ Looks away. ] No matter how impossible that might be...

[ But now it's determined expression again. ]
