What: Event log for the Once Upon A Dream Event! Should your character have their own memory, start your own top-level with said memory. If not, then tag around in other characters's memories! [ Kanji getting her out of her memory dream was more of a gradual, slow process, of building a bridge of trust then using it to remind her of reality. This is like throwing a bucket of cold water over her in comparison.

Effective, though.

Futaba jumps to her feet, whipping around and grabbing the counter to keep herself from falling and to steady herself against the mental whiplash. ]

What the hell, how do you know about that?!

[ The world rumbles around them, the world of the memory starting to fall apart and dissolve. ]

[Yes, that'll work. Naoto nods.]

Something that we all must discuss. Of course, that requires us leaving this memory behind.

Get ready; we have a small distance to cover getting back to the ship.

[ Oh boy does she want to argue about that, but it's hard to deny the world falling apart around them. ]

Ngh... fine.

[ She really really hates running. ]

Which way?

[Of course she would. Naoto would too in the same position.]

Towards the door before it's completely gone.

[ She nods, scrambling to get around the counter and head for the door. Halfway there she hesitates, glancing towards the stairwell. But it wasn't the real Sojiro, she knew that. Just a part of the memory, like a cognitive being in the Metaverse. No point trying to grab anything either for the same reason. Even if, just for a moment, she was home.

With a frustrated noise she sets off again, expecting Naoto to already be ahead of her. ]

[She is ahead, but she's not going too far. In fact, she waits for Futaba to catch up before walking on. Well, there's going to be a long talk... once everything's said and done in Dream Width.]

[ Oh absolutely.

That being said, even once back on board she'll still glance back, watching the last traces of Cafe LeBlanc and the streets of Yongen-Jaya disappear. All while trying to not look as pathetically homesick as she felt in this moment.

Not as hard as it could have been, because now that she's got a moment to breathe, there's a small headache bubbling behind her eyebrows. Not as bad as the one when the others had helped her, but then again she was a lot worse off by that point. She rubs her forehead, plopping down on the floor then and there. ]

Ugh... forgot how much that sucked.

[ The headache that came from breaking through a badly distorted cognition, that is. She'll never really forget how much being in that state sucked.

For all this though, the look she's giving Naoto is still sharp. You've got some questions to answer, friend. ]

Yes... Leaving is always unpleasant.

[After Kanji's memory she hadn't really intended on going into another one much less Futaba's, but it just... happened. Considering how they all ended up in the memories in the first place, maybe it shouldn't be surprising.]

[Still, now they're out, and Naoto looks at Futaba with similar blank expression before. Yes, she does have questions to answer.]

It would be ideal to have Kanji-kun, Amamiya-san, and Makoto-san for this discussion.

[ It's not a satisfying answer in the slightest. Honestly she's put in mind how Makoto refused to tell her anything about the next four months, save the vague assurance that it all turned out okay. But it isn't a refusal. Just... that they need to wait. And she's not wrong about the others needing to be here, and Futaba knows it.

Still... ]

One thing. [ One thing that can't hold off, at least. ] How much do you know about us... and for how long?

[ Did they mess up? Did she mess up? She needs to know how badly they've been compromised so she can tell the others as soon as possible. ]

Hm... [Placing her hand on her chin...]

... After I spoke with Makoto-san the first time shortly on arrival. Being from the same world, knowing she remembered the case in Yasoinaba, and how there were some issues that came up where the three of you live, I had my suspicions.

Of course, then Kanji-kun let it slip to Makoto-san, Makoto-san expressed concerns about Amamiya-san being my roommate, and since you have a connection to the two... I wasn't entirely certain until now. There were too many parallels.

[ Parallels? Let slip? Not to mention Makoto was not the one to accidentally say things that would give them away... unless.

She's always been a fast thinker. Exceptionally so. The reason that Naoto had been able to pick up so much from what Makoto had said was that it was familiar to them which meant- ]

You're Persona users too!

[ Did Makoto know? Had she figured it out too? Man they were gonna need to talk about this holy shit. The name Yasoinaba is also getting some gears to turn in her mind. She knows she read that name somewhere- wait ]

So there was something to that whole Midnight Channel thing?

[ It was one of the things she'd read about when searching for evidence of the cognitive world online. Just rumors and conspiracy theories. She'd ultimately dismissed them because they mostly stopped after 2012 and had seemed irrelevant. Ugh part of her is so annoyed to figure out she hadn't entirely been barking up the wrong tree.

Even in the midst of all this though, her brain jumps back to something that Naoto had said, that strikes her as odd. ]

Wait, why would Makoto worried about Ren staying with you guys?

[ True, Makoto was one of the people most concerned with making sure they didn't stand out but... still. Ren had been living with Sojiro for most of the year before Sojiro found out. Even after Futaba herself had gotten involved. And even that finding out... had been her blunder, not his. ]

[A nod... and then, another nod.]

That's right. Similar to you, we were a rather odd bunch dealing with the Midnight Channel. And given the Asterisks you've chosen, I assume you're used to the supporting role with your Persona.

[There was much, much more Futaba, you don't even know right now...]

I'm not sure. Something about myself being female around Amamiya-san troubled her.

[ Ah jeez. Makoto. She flaps a hand dismissively. ]

Don't worry about it. Ren's gotten into more trouble helping girls who've been harassed by guys than anything. Also I've literally fallen asleep in his room before and nothing's happened.

[ Although honestly, that speaks as much to how safe she feels around him as it does Ren's understanding of boundaries (and the fact that they view each other as siblings practically). Given her anxiety levels which... Naoto has some impression of how bad those have gotten before, that's no mean feat. But really... his criminal record, nearly getting expelled for confronting Kamoshida... Makoto was probably just worried about standing out or people talking. She really hoped at least.

Back to the topic at hand though... ]

You got me, though. After I joined I always did more navigation stuff, keeping track of enemies, stuff like that.

[ She had to say it was really nice to have someone who was able to keep up with her. ]

I figured not. However, whatever she said to Kanji-kun had him concerned.

[And Futaba might've noticed by now, but that tall boy could be rather protective. Still, the relationship between the groups - while similar - are still likely different. Naoto would still monitor Ren.]

[She nodded at the acknowledgement.]

Every group seems to have one non-combatant, but that's for the best. It wouldn't be ideal to run through any dungeon blind especially since they could change upon each visit.

[ She’s wondering how far she can get with this before she gets cut off in favor of leaving it for a group conversation. Or worse, the conversation possibly getting redirected towards the memory they were just in. There is one thing that really makes her wonder, though. ]

Groups? Are there more than just us?

[ While you could definitely motice similarities, two datapoints alone shouldn’t be enough to indicate a pattern yet. Just how long had this sort of thing been going on?? ]

There are. I can't say how many though; Kirijo-san would know I'm sure.

[A while, Futaba... a while.]

However, I'll save going into those few details I can when we're all together.

[ Guuhhhh she was afraid of that. She puts a hand to her face to rub her forehead a bit. ]

Jeez...

[ Maybe it's for the better though. This significant amount of new information - not the mention the massive amount of implications they brought up - were not helping her earlier headache. Makes a girl wonder if Benefic might do anything for them. ]

...well, now what?

[ Those three words basically... sum up her entire being right now. ]

We finish up here and head back to the Curti Center. Kanji-kun and yourself could use some rest. I'll speak to Amamiya-san if you'll speak to Makoto-san, and we'll work out a meeting time from there.

[Though, looking in the direction where the pilots of this ship would be.]

... We may have to wait until the others drawn from Dream Width have settled in. Just in case any more from our world appear.

[ Yeah... yeah all of that scans. She could probably have told Ren herself over the new linkshell, but... it's fine. It's Fine.

A thought occurs to her. ]

Makes sense. ... dunno if I'm going back up here anytime soon but. ... and um... maybe we should trade names and basic info for people to keep an eye out for.

[ There's a slight ulterior motive here, curious about this other group. But it'll be a fair exchange in that regard, at least.

And... there's one more question she has to ask. A wary, cautious one. Maybe a bit surprised, though... not ungrateful if she ends up being right. ]

... you're not gonna ask about any of that?

[ The memory. ]

[If she'd rather speak to Ren over some curry, Naoto wouldn't object... Futaba already did that.]

Yes. I'll probably linger for a while so I'll do what I can.

[It wouldn't matter ultimately even if there was an ulterior. It wasn't like Futaba was someone to be too suspicious about.]

... Hm? Oh... your memory. [Though Naoto considered for a moment, she shook her head.] Later perhaps... Honestly, I've noticed you've been cautious around me. Unless that improves, I'm in no position to ask.

[ Ah. Yeah. That. Futaba at least has that much self-awareness. ]

...It's not your fault.

[ Not that she's ready to start spilling either about the memory or the true source of her discomfort, but.... It feels especially important to say that. That whether she would or wouldn't have otherwise, Naoto shouldn't blame herself. ]

It's fine. You have your reasons, and maybe one day, I'll know.

[She shrugs, turning her attention back fully.]

You should go rest in the medical bay for now. I'm going to see about the others who might still be outside.

[ Futaba doesn't say that some of them might very well come up when all of them talk together. Instead she just nods, and hesitates for a moment before adding... ]

[ Getting up is a chore but she'll end up doing... pretty much exactly what Naoto suggests, passing out almost as soon as she collapses onto a bed in the infirmary.

That being said, if Naoto checks her tablet later, she'll find a message in her personal inbox from Futaba with the following information. ]

Ryuji Sakamoto - 2nd year. Bleached hair, brown eyes, pretty good at running, really loud, perpetual foot in mouth syndrome
Ann Takamaki - 2nd year, blond hair, usually in pigtails, blue eyes, pretty tall, really cares about people a lot
Yusuke Kitagawa - 2nd year, blue hair, gray eyes, tallest of all us. He's an art student so he can get focused on weird things and seem kind eccentric and dramatic but he's cool. Don't let him near your figurines though
Haru Okumura - 3rd year, really curly brown-orange hair (lighter than mine), brown eyes, really really nice. Kinda fancy. Really likes gardening.
Morgana - looks like black and white cat with a yellow bandanna. Depending how weird this place decides to be you'll probably know him when you see him. Since you have a Persona you'll probably be able to hear him, though this place might be weird about that too. Don't call him a cat though unless you're just bored and wanna annoy him.
Goro Akechi - Brown hair, brown eyes. 3rd year. Everybody calls him "The Next Detective Prince." Can act very nice and polite but also's a bit pretentious honestly. Be careful.

[ Some of that commentary was very deliberately chosen: guess who finally remembered where she's heard Naoto's name before. That being said, there's one more name on the list. ]

Sojiro Sakura - Middle aged, black hair and a goatee. Wears glasses. He wears pink shirts usually. Probably smells like coffee and curry. If you see him tell him Ren and I are here and that we're okay and where to find us. Dunno if I've said it before but I'm at house B-14.

Ryuji, Ann, and Haru are Shujin students, same as Ren and Makoto, so they'll probably have these plaid pants or skirts. You've probably seen em. Yusuke goes to Kosei so his uniform'd be different. Akechi goes to some fancy school I don't know the name of. Though I guess none of this'll really matter if they don't come in uniforms.

[Letting Futaba leave, she occupied herself helping rescue others from the Dream Width. Later, when she checked her messages, she considered the names - two in particular with one being this Goro Akechi and another being Sojiro Sakura. The former sounded like someone she would need to speak to, possibly with Kanji, while the other was from the memory. It made sense...]

[Eventually, Futaba would receive a similar message in kind.]

Yosuke Hanamura - 3rd Year. Dyed brown hair and light brown eyes. Similar to your friend Ryuji, has a tendency to speak before he thinks, but he isn't so loud.

Chie Satonaka - 3rd Year. Dyed light brown hair and darker brown eyes. Athletic and can be hot-headed. Can easily get her attention by mentioning martial arts.

Yukiko Amagi - Long black hair and very dark brown eyes. Often quiet and reserved, can be insightful, but responses to bad jokes in particular.

Rise Kujikawa - 2nd Year. Copper brown hair often in pigtails and brown eyes as well. She can be eccentric and teasing, but is kind overall. You might recognize her by her idol name 'Risette'.

Teddie - Shaped often like a bear - almost looks like a mascot; primarily blue, red, and white in coloration. However, he can also appear as a boy with swept blonde hair and blue eyes. Very excitable; if you see him, don't lose track of him. He might get himself in trouble.

(ERROR) - 3rd Year. Gray hair, bowl-cut style, and gray eyes. He doesn't say much, but he tends to be very patient and understanding. However, he does have... unpredictable moments. He's the leader of our group.

[Naoto's just being honest about her commentary. And since Futaba included Sojiro, she might as well...]

Nanako Dojima - Senpai's young cousin. Light brown hair and similarly brown eyes. She's only seven so she'll be on the small side, but she's very mature for her age. If she were to appear here, she'll be scared. Tell her not to worry and that Kanji-kun and I are here if Senpai or Dojima-san hasn't arrived already.

Ryotaro Dojima - Senpai's uncle and Nanako-chan's father. Dark graying hair, gray eyes, and stubble around his chin. Older adult; should be easy enough to spot. He'll be wary if you approach him, but like with Nanako-chan, just tell him either myself or Kanji-kun are here and he should listen. Note: He's aware of Personas, but doesn't entirely understand. He can be trusted.

Everyone attends Yasogami High save for Senpai since he was only temporarily attending. You may remember the uniforms from Kanji-kun's memories that you and I were wearing - those uniforms. Nanako-chan doesn't have a school uniform, but prefers to wear a pink dress and Dojima-san will likely be in his detective uniform. He doesn't wear his jacket and his red tie is often lop-sided.

[She sends this without realized that Senpai's name doesn't go through. Thanks Mognet...]

[ ... Looking this over she also honestly has to wonder if there's a pattern for leaders of these sort of groups. Again, two datapoints isn't a trend, but still. ]

Just so you know, one of your names didn't go through.

Also, you can trust Sojiro too. He doesn't entirely know about the Persona thing, but he knows about the cognitive world and the Metaverse, and that Ren and I have been doing stuff there. He worked with my mom while she was studying cognitive psience too before she died, so he probably knows at least some of her research.

...we'll probably talk about it more when we meet up.

Probably goes without saying, but be careful with anyone else though, especially if they're from Ren's and Makoto's and my timeframe.

[ Given all the enemies that they've made... Even if you left out their activities as Phantom Thieves and the people who might take issue with that, there was still the fact that they were chasing the people who'd killed her mom. Who were powerful enough to take over the entire investigation and manipulate the results.

She actually does trust Naoto more than she probably lets on. ]
