What: Event log for the Once Upon A Dream Event! Should your character have their own memory, start your own top-level with said memory. If not, then tag around in other characters's memories! Furthermore, feel free to use the Mingle threads at the Curti Center and in the Airships for non-memory related CR. Please refer to the OOC Post for details and plotting. Plot Memories and the second Airship Mingle will be unlocked on May 25th.

Papyrus | A Rift Between Friends

Those visiting this memory will find themselves in darkness. The only source of light stems from a computer monitor, showing a direct security feed of the ominous surroundings. Machinery hums and buzzes. Fog drifts through the air. Thick pipes dangle from the ceiling, near impossible to see in this pitch blackness.

Footsteps sound shortly up ahead. If you squint, you might see two figures wandering through the smog. One of them is a fair bit shorter. The other tall, and his white labcoat may be just slightly visible. They both move slowly. Tentatively. Almost as if neither wishes to be here.

But should visitors follow, or even if they don't, they'll soon be greeted to an even more daunting sight, as bright blue spears shoot down from the ceiling, striking the floor and casting just the faintest bit of additional light. And heavy footsteps clunk closer, and a mechanical eye glistens with a bright yellow glow.

You are not alone.

Human characters appear as monsters for the sake of keeping immersion, but this is liable to change as Papyrus snaps out of his dream.]

S'reee's own eyesight wasn't that good, and her sonar was unreliable in air, but she was doing the best she could. She couldn't see very well above her, but she did have ears (well, internal ones), and she had enough warning to sing out a phrase in wizard's Speech hardening the air around her into a shield -- a spell she used before even considering if wizardry would even work.

Either way, a long phrase that might well be incomprehensible (or seem like it should be familiar but drifted outside understanding) announced that she was present.

[OOC: Not sure how non attack or healing magic fits here, so your call on how/if the spell works, or if S'reee would be in her normal form (whale floating via magic) or more humanoid.]

[ooc: Healing magic still has its place! Usually it manifests in the form of green attacks, but there are monsters that attack with music as well, so vocal magic isn't too unreasonable. Also, her natural form floating should be fine- there's a very whale-like monster who does that. c:]


That was odd. So odd that it was enough to momentarily make Papyrus twitch. But there wasn't much time to look around, as Undyne still looked up ahead. Though even she seemed to have squinted slightly. Was there someone else here?

Couldn't be. Her cameras woulda caught it.

Uncertain and mostly unaware, Papyrus continued.

"WOWIE, UNDYNE! YOU FINALLY MASTERED YOUR DRAMATIC ENTRANCE!!! I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE ADDED DRAMATIC-"

The lights flickered completely out, only for the entire lab to be illuminated, revealing an assortment of weapons... and a sleeping dog.

Which made Papyrus' eye sockets bulge as he nervously continued, "C-CHANTING..."

Undyne, now out of the darkness, could only scowl at the sight. There were things she wanted to say, and she briefly looked past Papyrus to the stranger. Another monster being manipulated by the human, maybe? Either way...

"Hmph. So here you are. With the human."

Said human, by the way, glanced between Papyrus and the newcomer. This was very odd. Not odd enough to shake Papyrus from the memory, though. His sights remained on Undyne.

S'reee did recognize the skeleton, but only in passing, and only the voice confirms that it was the same skeleton (she's much better with voice than vision anyway). "Can I ask what is going on here?"

Because it is hard to tell what someone's intent is when they call down spikes, then act like the visitors are a minor imposition, not an actual threat.

Papyrus opened his mouth to speak, but before he could get a word out, Undyne cocked her flamethrower and scowled.

"I could ask you the same thing! Don't tell me you're on the human's side, too! Just how many monsters are they-"

Papyrus cleared his throat, tittering. "ERM. WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, I DON'T KNOW THIS MONSTER. PERHAPS THEY WERE MERELY PASSING THROUGH?"

Undyne's eyes darted from S'ree to Papyrus. She grumbled a little, then lowers her weapon. Albeit briefly. "Well, stay back. There's a dangerous human here."

Frisk, in the mean time, facepalmed. Talk about a pain.

"That human is barely out of calf-hood," S'reee said skeptically. "And not carrying anything that I hear. Sorry, but what are your intentions anyway? Perhaps I can arbitrate?"
