What: Event log for the Once Upon A Dream Event! Should your character have their own memory, start your own top-level with said memory. If not, then tag around in other characters's memories! Furthermore, feel free to use the Mingle threads at the Curti Center and in the Airships for non-memory related CR. Please refer to the OOC Post for details and plotting. Plot Memories and the second Airship Mingle will be unlocked on May 25th.

Even the people who never frown, eventually break down. As the physical contact from Rinoa tightens around Selphie, the grip of the memory lessens. The simple phrase of not losing another person has other thoughts flooding into Selphie's mind as her fingers curl around Rinoa's wrists. There were a lot of things that the perky brunette couldn't bring herself to discuss very often and this answer was one of them.

There were a scant few who were privy to this painful event and Rinoa was now one of them. Selphie didn't have any intent on leaving anyone behind as she bowed her head and drew in a shaky breath. The broken pleas, the empathy pouring out from her friend was a powerful magnet for Selphie. There were people that she couldn't leave behind or become lost in a memory to. There were a few things more powerful to a person who had very few people to rely on than that simple phrase.

I can't lose you too.

"I'm not lost," Selphie murmured in a low voice. "I'm right here..."

Where was she really?

Hearing Selphie speak to her definitely took some of the weight of Rinoa's shoulders, and though her voice is still shaky, there's the a small smile of relief on her face. That memory was so intense that for a minute there she was worried Selphie was gone and she was alone again. And after having a taste of what it was like to have people to lean on, she can't go back to being without it again. She just can't.

"You'd better stay that way. I can't do this without you." She swallows, trying to reign herself in. She has to help Selphie right now; she can worry about her own insecurities later. "You have to break free. You can't stay here. I know what happened was awful, but you can't let it consume you. You have to focus on the here and now. Can you do that for me? Selphie?"

She bites her lip anxiously, worried that maybe she's said the wrong thing while she holds her breath, waiting to find out.

Selphie knew that voice. It wasn't one of the voices of the friends that she sorely missed but it was another one that she hadn't heard in earnest for quite some time. The brunette didn't really intend on letting the memory consume her, but the grief that came from it was powerful and all-consuming. The power that emotion held on her was considerably less than it had been as the memory had mostly faded into nothing.

"Rin..." Selphie breathed out as the memory lost full control. "I..."

Selphie usually had something to say, but this was one of the rare occasions where there really wasn't anything to say. The memory left her feeling tired as she looked up at the interior of the spaceship before sinking to the floor with her head deeply bowed. She may have broken free from the memory but the feelings from it were still there.

"...Thanks. Uh... lemme go please...?"

Selphie was fine with the closeness but it was getting a bit on the uncomfortable side.

The sigh of relief is audible when Selphie says her name. It sounds like this whole mess was over. Well, the physical one, at least. She's pretty sure this isn't something Selphie's going to get over overnight, especially not when she's been holding onto it for who knows how long. She's not sure what she can do to help her through it besides be there if she needs it, but at least she can understand some of what her friend has been through. Hell, come to think of it, all of her SeeD buddies have probably been in similar feelings. A sobering thought, but one that definitely makes her respect how strong they all are even more.

She helps ease her to the floor and had planned to stay there until Selphie asked her not to. She blinks. She's always been one to crave the contact when she's hurting; she hadn't realized that her friend wouldn't want her there.

"Oh, um, sorry." Rinoa pulls away and positions herself next to Selphie instead, awkwardly playing with her necklace, not knowing what to do with her hands.

She's silent for a few moments, letting Selphie cope however she needs to without her, but after all of that it's just too quiet. "Do you want to talk about it?"

Thankfully, most of the feelings had already been dealt with as Selphie shifted in closer and leaned against Rinoa. With a shaky hand, the brunette grabbed her friend's hand and refused to let go as she pulled both their hands down to rest on the floor. While members of SeeD could be incredibly strong, they were still only human. There were times where all of them cracked and became overwhelmed from their feelings. Some were considerably better at masking them than others and some of them just wanted someone nearby in case the ground came tumbling out from underneath them.

This was that time for Selphie as she looked up at Rinoa with a nervous look. The brunette had to start somewhere and had been meaning to explain things to Rinoa but the time had just never seemed right. That particular moment, with the two friends sitting together as one gathered her thoughts while trying not to cry, seemed to be happening.

"Well," Selphie began as she shifted a bit closer to Rinoa. "After we took care of things with Ultimecia back home, I wound up in another world that was called Crystallis. A lot of stuff happened there and a lot of it are very important memories to me but that particular memory is probably the one that will always be the worst."

Selphie smiled sadly. "I haven't seen those friends in a long time and I miss them a lot."

Rinoa gripped Selphie's hand tightly in return, glad she was still able to be an anchor to her friend. She'd always been the one comforted and never the one comforting, so she's not 100% confident she's doing it right, but so far it seems like it's going okay, and for that she's really glad.

She's patient while she waits for a response, though it's a little strange to see Selphie so quiet. Granted, given the circumstances it's more than understandable, but it's just furthering her worry to see how affected Selphie is.

"Another world?" So, then this is the second time that she hasn't been able to find her way back. That's not good. That's really not good. What if all of them are spread out across different worlds? What if they never find their way back?

She shakes her head. There's time to figure that out later. "I had no idea." Some friend she was. "Did they... I mean, do you think they'll show up here too?"

Selphie pondered that notion for a few moments before she shrugged her shoulders. If Selphie saw her friends from Crystallis again, how would she react? They hadn't been around in the end while others had and some things just wouldn't be the same. Too much had happened. Too many had given up everything for the greater good.

"I dunno," Selphie returned thoughtfully. "Maybe they will, maybe they won't. It's not really my choice to make."

Selphie would have to leave that one up to the powers that be on whether or not she'd be reunited with old friends or not. For now though, they were only part of cherished memories.

"I've got a lot to tell you, Rin and it's gonna take awhile so..."

Rinoa stays silent, not sure how to respond to that. Somehow she feels like no matter what she says in response to Selphie's thoughts on the matter will be the wrong thing. Eventually she settles on neutral, just like her friend had.

"Well, wherever they are I hope they're okay. I owe them for keeping you safe." She gives her hand a squeeze. "Seriously, Sel, I can't tell you how glad I am that you're here with me."

If Selphie's in a sharing mood, Rinoa is more than happy to listen. But she's also heard that staying out here for too long isn't safe, so maybe they should relocate for the chat.

"Whatever you want to tell me, I'm here. But this spot isn't going to stay safe for long, so maybe we should talk on the ship, or back at the house if that would be better for you." It sounds like this is going to be pretty draining for Selphie and Rinoa knows that she herself would rather talk in the place that she felt the safest if she was about to pour her soul out.

Selphie can only hope that her friends are okay but there will only be one way to confirm that for a fact. She knows that Rinoa is right but if Selphie doesn't explain things now, she may never do so in the future. It takes her a few moments to collect herself before sitting up straight before rising to her feet. After smoothing the wrinkles out of her dress, Selphie holds a hand out to Rinoa to help her friend up.

"C'mon... we'd better get back then." Selphie offers with a tired, incredibly guarded smile.
