What: Event log for the Once Upon A Dream Event! Should your character have their own memory, start your own top-level with said memory. If not, then tag around in other characters's memories! Furthermore, feel free to use the Mingle threads at the Curti Center and in the Airships for non-memory related CR. Please refer to the OOC Post for details and plotting. Plot Memories and the second Airship Mingle will be unlocked on May 25th.

The land was ablaze. Corpses and smashed machines - giants of metal, really, lay scattered on the field.

In the distance, the sound of heavy impact echoed through the groans of the dying. A man, his long hair red as the flames around him clashed with a metal giant easily 16 meters tall. The man won, his fist impacting with the giant mech and blasting it backwards, shattering its legs as it was bowled over. Dashing to another, the man unleashed a series of devastating kicks to another mech and sending it skyward, and to the third and final opponent, a blistering series of punches and kicks, blowing it apart.

His foes felled, the man turns to you, his eyes blazing with crazed bloodlust, while to his side, unnoticed before, a man in a massive mask and cloak stands observing.

But the man's eyes do not focus on you, for you are not alone. Standing beside you is another, a mustached man in a red headband and brown gi, middle-aged but still vigorous and glowing with a blue aura. He sees you, and while you feel his surprise, you nonetheless feel his gratitude as he prepares to face off against this monstrous foe. When he speaks, he addresses the masked man as he assumes a battle stance.

"Even if it kills me I will not let you have him!"

He glances to you.

"I don't know you, friends, but I am glad for the company. Will you aid me? Will you help me save him?"

Elly realizes where she is almost immediately, not because of what she sees, but who. Eyes burning brighter than the funeral pyres he's set fit to create, her heart immediately sinks like a ball of lead. Watching him dance over the battlefield with a strange, unhinged and primal grace, her eyes scan over the carnage he's already waged upon the unsuspecting souls that could not get away.

These gears... Were they from Kislev? Aveh? She can't tell from the manged piles of metal that were once fully operational machines, now graves of steel and hellfire for whatever pilots thought they could defy him. They were his playthings, a minor inconvenience thrown away like a bored child might with an old toy. Mechanical legs plucked from their bodies, arms strewn across the battlefield, it very much looked like a child playing. A child playing with mechanical toys and human lives, under close supervision by a masked caregiver. Grahf. More fuel to add to this fire burning out of control.

It sends a shiver down her spine, because while this isn't the first time that she's encountered Id... it's the first time she has, knowing who he truly was, and the broader implications. That he should not be here is enough to give her pause, and it makes Elly swallow down hard at what that might mean. Was Fei still in there, or had they lost him completely this time?

No, don't think like that. She got through to him once, and she would do it again.

Her eyes flicking to the man beside her, Elly's gaze stays there for a moment, sketching over his face. He looks familiar, almost like she should know him... but no, that isn't important now.

"Of course," She answers, without any trace of hesitation. Her sights set on Id, matching intensity for intensity, she pulls her rod out of its holster with one swift, fluid flick of her wrist.

"He saved me, so it's time for me to return the favor."

The moustached man looks at Elly a bit quizzically, before turning again to face the two.

"You'll take him then?"

He looks at Id with a short thrust of his jaw.

"Very well, I'll deal with the other."

That is about all he has time to say, because in that instant Id charges forward, fists raised.

She hardly has time to answer Khan with a quick nod before Id charges forward, with all the force and anger of a raging typhoon. Moving just as quickly, she pulls her right foot to the side, heels digging into the ground as she braces herself.

Drawing the heat in around it, she cuts through the air between them with her rod, sparking in an instant and exploding into a wall of flames. It won't stop him, but at the very least may slow his advance for a few seconds.

Id takes the blast full force, the fires enveloping him. It does, however, stop his charge. He gives Elly a feral grin.

"Fire? That's my trick."

An aura of flames engulfs him as he charges again, the blast of the flame seeming to triple the speed of his charge.

It's enough give her a chance to shift her weight, pivoting on a dime to try to circle to his flank. Watching his shadow in the flames, she doesn't quite anticipate the change in velocity. It's inelegant, but she drops her posture on the fly, lowering to (hopefully) avoid a full tackle from Id.

"Was," She retorts gruffly, using the rest of her momentum to sweep his legs out from under him before splitting her rod into two, grasping the weapon now in both hands now. Turning to face him once more, ideally at his flank, she grips the hilts hard, ready for another assault.

"But not anymore."

The strike at his legs sends Id flying into a diving roll as he rises nimbly to his feet.

"You're quite a woman."

He takes a low stance, before leaping at her again, striking with an open palm at her stomach.

Launching herself backward, Elly takes a deep breath. She'll have to apologize for all of this after she's pulled him out, won't she.

"I don't want to talk to you," She says simply, her voice crackling as the air around her seems to come alive, electricity rippling and churning around her in a storm of unbridled power. She's sorry, Fei, but she knows that this is the only way she can get through to him—by making him respect her power. So...

Coalescing around her in a bolt of pure kinetic energy, she lets loose, both rods acting as conduits to drive her attack at him. Even as he continues to charge, she doesn't move. Her expression unflappable and calm, her voice is as measured as it is firm.

"I want to talk to Fei. Now."

The bolt sends Id flying backwards. He staggers to his feet, spitting and snarling although obviously somewhat shocked at the power of the blow. "There's no Fei here, woman."

Unmoving, she lets her chin dip, gaze catching his and holding it steady. "You know who I am. You've known me before Fei, before Id, before any of this came to be."

Slowly, she starts to lower her weapon, but refuses to take her eyes off him. Taking a step closer, her "Just like you know that none of this is real. That it's all happened before, and that you no longer exist."

"You're out of your damn mind, lady."

Id cracks his neck, loosening his shoulders. "Out of my way."

"Elly."

The way she speaks as she corrects him is Curt and almost percussive, punctuated by a distinct CRACK as the ground underneath Id rises to meet him. Jutting upward in jagged slates of earth, it encases him from the chest down, locking down both feet and hands.

She hates this so much, and while her expression hasn't changed, there's a flicker of an apology reflected back in her eyes. She's sorry, but she won't be able to get through to him if he can still charge at her at any time.

"Think for a moment." She says as she takes another careful step forward, her gaze locked with his as she fights yet another battle—one she isn't sure she will win, but has to. "You've seen this battlefield before. You know what is supposed to happen next; now all you need to do is remember."

"Remember, and wake yourself up from this nightmare, Fei."

Id is truly, thoroughly caught. He struggles for a moment, a fiery aura again igniting around him, before finally giving up.

"Man, what do you see in him anyway? What a boring woman."

She watches him slowly resign himself to his fate, waiting until then to begin walking forward again. There are a thousand apologies that she wants to make in that instance, but Elly doesn't give herself the opportunity to do so. After this. After she's made sure to pull him out of whatever nightmarescape they've found themselves in, and into her arms.

"That's a silly question," She answers back, her countenance shifting subtly with every step. Insult her all you want, Id. It's baseless and pointless, and the two of them know that.

A quiet smile spreads across her lips as she stops in front of him. "Say what you will about me. He is the man I love, and have loved as long as I can remember. You and him are one and the same, two sides of the same coin." Pausing, she reaches up for him, letting her hand rest gently against his cheek.

"I am going to take you as far away from here as I can, but I need your help."

The world seems to lurch and shift as Id, Kahn, Grahf, and everything fades away, leaving a sleeping Fei in their wake.

Watching the world flicker and fade away, the embers of the past finally snuffed out, Elly feels a very distinct weight against him as the ground she raised fall away. She's quick to catch him, wrapping her arms around Fei as she slowly eases him down with her.

All that fighting, and he's out like a light. It's so like him that she can't help but chuckle gently.

"I thought I told you to wake up, not fall asleep on me," She teases softly, resting her forehead against his.
