What level was Ena when all this happened?

Connie is still too shocked to properly register the voice and stands stock still, unwillingly taking in all the carnage and destruction around her. What--or who--could have possibly done this? And why? Just imagining the violence was enough to almost make Connie retch again. However, she does notice the metal breastplate covering her chest, the studded leather armor protecting her legs, and steel lamellar over her arms, staring at it all in bewilderment before also realizing a massive sword, almost as large as Rose's, was strapped to her back.

Ena continues to turn, scanning the area, when she finally reaches Connie. It registers that there is a conscious mind there. "And another one..." When she realizes that the other two men are too busy digging someone else out of the rubble (and another is too caught up in his crazy what ifs to care), she drops the spell to focus on who it might be.

A little girl?

Though armored, Ena can tell by the look on Connie's face that she is upset, disturbed even by the whole scene. She frowns in concern and takes long strides towards her. "Are you all right? Are you of this village?" They needed to find a way to get her to safety somehow.

"N-no, I..." Connie shakes her head. She had to keep it together. For Ena. They both had to get out of this. "I'm, uh, I-I'm a traveler," she stutters, clutching herself tight. Think, Connie, think. What was an obvious break point? Where did Ena's cognition fail to match up with reality? If she could pin that down, they'd be set. "Did... zombies? Some kind of..." Although Connie had trouble forming words at the moment, hopefully her point got across.

Ena frowns and tilts her head slightly. The word "zombie" was foreign to her, and she spends a good moment trying to think about what Connie might mean. Did she mean some kind of military? Bandits?

"I'm afraid you've come at the wrong time if you're traveling. I..." she paused, recalling the army they spotted and hid from that was marching in the opposite direction on their way here. If they were going back to Feyerlun, then she didn't know of any other place in the area that would keep a young girl traveler safe. She wouldn't know if bringing her along would be safe, either. "I don't know where you came from, but it might be best to start backtracking."

She glances over her shoulder, just in time to spot the two Human men pulling a hefty blonde lady out from the rubble. "Musa?" she calls over to one of them, but no one looks over to her immediately.

Connie gulps. Conversation. That was a thing that she could do. To keep herself grounded. Right, Ena was still... right. Connie had a job to do. If she just focused on that, she could get out of this in no time and schedule an appointment with a therapist. "I don't think I can go back," she hoarsely whispers. Even though this was all a dream and survivors didn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things, Connie's heart lightens a little as Ena's companions pull the woman out of the rubble. "Is she, um..." she asks Ena, gesturing towards the body.

Ena's brow furrows when she hears that Connie can't go back. "...Did they get to your village, too?" That wasn't a good thing. That meant that whatever caused this had already spread, and that this girl wouldn't be able to get back home. But it was looking more and more likely that taking her along would be the worst choice. What do, what do?

"She's alive," Ena responds, regarding the lady the two men are now placing on a nearby miraculously in-tact cart. "I wouldn't have been able to detect her if she wasn't." She looks to the obviously frightened Human girl then back to the two men. She had a bad feeling about keeping her with them, but she couldn't quite place her finger on it. But letting her come with them wasn't a decision she should be making on her own in the first place. She calls out to one of the men again. "Musa?"

No response. They continue to move on their own, complete disregard of her. She feels a flicker of frustration and calls out again: "Musa!"

Still no response.

"Why isn't he listening?" she murmurs to herself, then turns her gaze back to Connie to study her.

Roll Sense Motive

While Ena is calling out to her companions, Connie looks at them with a more critical eye. Since they were obviously friends of the elf, why weren't they reacting to her cries? The way they were moving with that woman seemed suspect, too. With something to focus on other than the death and destruction, Connie's mind clears slightly. What exactly was going on here?

After a brief moment of study, Connie would be able to tell that there isn't any particular malice on the part of Ena's companions. They're concentrating on the woman, whom they both seem to be particularly fond of, and not exactly ignoring Ena intentionally. Rather, it seems that they're more... unaware of Ena's cries to them. It's like she's not even there.

Ena, on the other hand, is too bewildered to notice this. She's upset - there's a child here that needs to be taken care of, and both Humans (who are both fond of children) didn't seem to want to spare them a thought.

Without a word, she grabs Connie's hand and marches over to the men. "Musa!" she yells again, this time more firm. She reaches out to grab the shoulder of the armored Human and whirls him around. Despite being the only one taller than Ena and in heavy armor, Musa turns to face her easily, but his gaze doesn't make contact with her own - he looks right through her.

Ena gasps. "M-Musa? Hello?" She gives him another shake, but he just stands there like a doll.

Well, at least this gave Connie a way to snap Ena out of it. Hopefully. She'd still need to be delicate, though; Connie was fairly certain that if she tried to brute force the memory it wouldn't work. Letting Ena drag her along, Connie says, "Uh, I'm... getting the feeling that this isn't a prank. Think back, Ena, um, remember... has anything like this happened before?"
