Crystals have fallen out of the Dream Width in a beautiful meteor shower and scattered all over the world! Due to their origins and mysterious properties, the Curti Center is interested in gathering as many as they can for researching purposes. To incentivize the public in helping out, O'aka has donated a few silver coupons to those top few who collect the most crystals. There's also a rumor that the one person (or more if there's a tie) who collects the most, wins something marvelous and mysterious~

The hunt for these crystals have taken storm across Vaikuntha and they're suddenly worth a lot. It's all anyone talks about anymore! The locals have gone crazy with it! If you weren't interested to begin with, surely the madness that is this new fad has sunk its teeth in. Besides, who knows what the crystals can actually do? Are they gifts? Curses? Dust collectors? Only one way to find out.

Uendo is about to answer when tremor makes him freeze on the spot. That's... not good. He risks another peek and groans inwardly. Why, of all possible monsters, did it have to be that one?

Gotta appreciate the dramatic timing on that thunder, though.

"Oookay. That's a T-Rex, and it looks like one of the Calamity types too. Lovely." He draws back so he can better whisper to Sephiroth. "The crystals are in a nest in the middle of a big clearing. I guess it mistook them for real eggs? Anyway, I don't see much of anything to be used for cover. Just bits of walls here and there."

Even Sephiroth has to spread his balance a little better in his crouched position to bear the absolute shaking of the air all around, reaching out with his off-hand bracing the ground so it doesn't knock him down. Any slight, imprecise movement or sound and their cover would be blown for sure.

He'd never heard a T-Rex roar before, but at least the fact it seems to be a Calamity-type goes some way to explaining the real threat in the air. Sephiroth takes a deeper breath, really taking in the atmosphere and letting it feed his own focus.

"Well, I guess there's nothing for it but to get in there and get its attention. Roughly how long do you think you'll need?"

How long...? Wait, surely Sephiroth isn't planning to use himself as bait? Against a beast like that?

Uendo almost protests, but thinks better of it. Sephiroth is the more experienced one here. He wouldn't suggest the plan if it wasn't feasible to pull off. If he's trusting Uendo to handle his end, then... Shouldn't he return that trust?

"To the nest and back... I'd say about a minute at most." He frowns, and Kisegawa slides in the driver's seat, adding: "I could swap the crystals in the nest for the spare Chrome ones I've got. They're similar enough, and the T-Rex might let you escape if it thinks it still has eggs to protect."
