Crystals have fallen out of the Dream Width in a beautiful meteor shower and scattered all over the world! Due to their origins and mysterious properties, the Curti Center is interested in gathering as many as they can for researching purposes. To incentivize the public in helping out, O'aka has donated a few silver coupons to those top few who collect the most crystals. There's also a rumor that the one person (or more if there's a tie) who collects the most, wins something marvelous and mysterious~

The hunt for these crystals have taken storm across Vaikuntha and they're suddenly worth a lot. It's all anyone talks about anymore! The locals have gone crazy with it! If you weren't interested to begin with, surely the madness that is this new fad has sunk its teeth in. Besides, who knows what the crystals can actually do? Are they gifts? Curses? Dust collectors? Only one way to find out.

“Oh, yesh,” the one behind the counter answers with a nod. “It’sh not for shell right now, though. The cryshtal’sh the only thing we have that we know will shurvive the flood watersh.”

He then turns around and points above the shelves. Sure enough, there’s a crystal in a little glass case. “It’sh all we have left.”

Sephiroth looks up when the small ornament is pointed at. Well, it certainly did seem to be the real deal, but then at the same time was there any way to really tell? It's not like he had any other Rain Crystal to compare it to.

Sure it crosses his mind; being one very much to take what he wants in any situation, but Sephiroth's intelligent enough to know that the extending consequences probably wouldn't fall in his favor. There are Heroes out there already with suspicions over his intentions, it wouldn't do to make things worse.

"That looks really impressive. Don't you worry about keeping it on display?"

“Thank you.” He turns back to face you and shakes his head. "Not really. We are very proud of our Rain Cryshtal! Not many are out there, you know."

Rain Crystal aside, there's nothing here that Sephiroth initially came into the shop thinking they might stock so he fishes out around 200gil from an inside pocket and places it on the counter in front of the Hypello.

Donations are in the spirit of all heroes, worldwide. It's not Sephiroth's style at all but perhaps it might help at least make the detour into the shop not a complete waste of his time.

"I don't suppose you might have any idea where to find one, for myself?"

“Thank you! Pleash, take thish ash a token of our gratitude.”

Then the Hypello stops and thinks. "We heard that shome cryshtalsh landed near the Ancient Hishtory Musheum, yesh? And there were rumorsh about shome at the Blitzball Shtadium but there'sh a lot of work going on there.

“Now, what elsh can we do for you?”

Can never have enough potions, yet in this instance, it's just underwhelming knowing that a Rain Crystal is sitting right there in the shop. Sephiroth just won't let himself just take it, it's too risky especially as he's probably not the only offworlder here. Too risky to his reputation.

He utters a "Many Thanks" as he turns to exit the shop, once outside he takes a good long look around while he tries to consider where to go to next.

It feels like he's going to be here a while.

Back to the start, I see. Where would you like to go now, Hero?

Out of the two other places mentioned by the Hypello in the shop, the Museum is way more inviting than the Stadium. He's never really been much into sport even before coming to Vaikuntha, and it doesn't hurt to learn a bit more of history, either.

It seems the flooding hasn’t affected this part of the city, so that’s a good start! You enter the building, finding it lush with all kinds of exhibits, only to be stopped immediately by a red velvet rope. There’s a Zora standing on the other side behind a little podium. They have a name tag on their uniform dress shirt that just reads ‘JEFF.’

Jeff looks like he’s stuck in a minimum wage job by the way his tired eyes stare through your soul. He looks you up and down and says, “Entrance fee is 30 gil.”

30 gil isn't a lot really. If it keeps Jeff at this job at the podium and out of Sephiroth's albeit damp-ended hair, all the better.

Sephiroth hands over the money and offers a dry smile, shifting so he's a little closer to the Zora. To keep his voice low enough as to be private between the two of them.

"I'd pay you a tip, too. For information on any Crystals you've come across today?"

Jeff counts the gil twice before nodding, putting the cash away, and slowly unhooking the rope to allow you to pass. “Enjoy the Ancient History Museum of Ka’Pandol,” he says in a dead, monotone voice.

Then he blinks, looking startled by the question, but shrugs off the offer for more money. “Oh, I’ve heard of that,” he says with a nod. “Apparently they made all those holes in the dome or something? Must have been moving pretty fast to do that. But uh, yeah, I’m, uh-”

His hands fiddle with the velvet rope, a grimace on his face. “I’m not looking for those stupid things. They’re dumb. Who even cares about that, anyway? It’s so dumb. Everyone’s dumb.”
