Crystals have fallen out of the Dream Width in a beautiful meteor shower and scattered all over the world! Due to their origins and mysterious properties, the Curti Center is interested in gathering as many as they can for researching purposes. To incentivize the public in helping out, O'aka has donated a few silver coupons to those top few who collect the most crystals. There's also a rumor that the one person (or more if there's a tie) who collects the most, wins something marvelous and mysterious~

The hunt for these crystals have taken storm across Vaikuntha and they're suddenly worth a lot. It's all anyone talks about anymore! The locals have gone crazy with it! If you weren't interested to begin with, surely the madness that is this new fad has sunk its teeth in. Besides, who knows what the crystals can actually do? Are they gifts? Curses? Dust collectors? Only one way to find out.

You take a deep lungful of air, then just chill in the water for a moment, relaxing. This seems pretty easy so far, you wonder why

And then you see the octopuses. Octopi? Yeah, you're pretty sure that the second one is right. Shrugging, you use the vial with your mastered [SOUL Buster] asterisk, which has a Magical Power of A, or S when boosted by Time Mage. Which is what you're doing right now.

You take out the vial, uncork it, and a bright light erupts from the bottle. The octopuses get spooked, swimming away as fast as they can and leave you alone in the room.

You can see the control panel now. There’s a big red button with the word EMERGENCY over the top. This looks like an emergency! You should probably press that button… but there's no telling what it'll do.

> Swim out of the room and get out of the water.
> Press that button.

>Frisk: Press button. "Press the button."

Well, at the very worst, you get horribly injured and drink a bunch of potions, right?

You press the button.

You press the button.

There’s some mechanical whirring going on somewhere, a lot of clunking, and you can hear metal bending. It sounds like it’s coming from one of those big pipes in the middle of the arena.

> Investigate.
> Get out of the water and report what happened.

>Frisk: Investigate.

That sounds like something that could be very, very urgent. And you don't want to waste time in case it does turn out to be that way. You swim towards the pipe to investigate.

You swim out to the pipes again, back in open water. The octopuses all seem long gone now. But back in this better lighting, you can see that there’s definitely something wrong here.

Sensors have noticed the increase in pressure, so the pipes aren’t about to dangerously rupture anymore. They don’t even make a sound now. That said, the emergency switch did something.

You can see something shiny in one of the pipes. It’d be nice if you could just reach in and emerge victorious, but that thing’s wedged in there tight! It’s definitely a crystal, no telling how it got in there. Maybe it just needs a nudge.

> Attack the pipe.
> Go back into the room and press the button again.
> Get out of the water.

On the one hand, this is a terrible idea. On the other... well, you might have juuuust the skill to help out here.

You swim to the pipe, positioning yourself above where the crystal is lodged. They, aiming your cannon, you fire a [Force Wave]. While the attack hopefully won't deal damage to the structural integrity of the pipe due to its weak nature, the heavy knockback it has should hopefully knock the crystal loose.

That did it! Though the crystal and pipe are both plenty durable, your attack was just enough to nudge it free. You grab the crystal, yank, and you’ve now got a new crystal. To make the whole deal better, the pumps sense that there’s no more pressure in the pipes and they kick back on again. Slowly, you feel the drag of water pulling you down but it’s not enough to suck you in.

You swim back to the surface to greet the slowly retreating water and cheering workers.
