Crystals have fallen out of the Dream Width in a beautiful meteor shower and scattered all over the world! Due to their origins and mysterious properties, the Curti Center is interested in gathering as many as they can for researching purposes. To incentivize the public in helping out, O'aka has donated a few silver coupons to those top few who collect the most crystals. There's also a rumor that the one person (or more if there's a tie) who collects the most, wins something marvelous and mysterious~

The hunt for these crystals have taken storm across Vaikuntha and they're suddenly worth a lot. It's all anyone talks about anymore! The locals have gone crazy with it! If you weren't interested to begin with, surely the madness that is this new fad has sunk its teeth in. Besides, who knows what the crystals can actually do? Are they gifts? Curses? Dust collectors? Only one way to find out.

[ Ena nods in approval when Marinette does the thing. More overhead light would definitely be a help. Her own Light was good, but it only made the shadows darker.

She sighs with frustration seeing that there's no immediate result to their first move. So she opts to see if she can Detect Magic. Who knows? Maybe the crystals are magical instead of just pretty looking. ]

As the party keeps going, they immediately come across a chest. It wobbles just as they approach, right out of the corner of their eyes.

It's also blocking the path...

The suspiciously placed chest cannot be ignored. To open it was to court disaster, to ignore it was to leave a safety hazard in the middle of the walkway.

"This should be properly disposed."

Marinette was a little disappointed by the lack of immediate... something when she cast that spell, but it was fine. She hadn't come in here expecting instant gratification, after all.

That chest was certainly conspicuous, though, and she was a little hesitant to approach because of that. Minimus' suggestion had her glancing between the chest and the man.

"How do you suppose we do that?"

"Oh there's definitely something in there, and it's not treasure." Corrin says, watching the "chest" warily. She saw it moving, she knows she did.

"Maybe if we can open the lid without getting too close, whatever's inside will escape?" She muses, then looks at the others. "A properly aimed spell might be able to knock it open, or over, at least." Either way would prop the top open to let the thing inside out. "I can do that easily enough with one of my spells, but we should still be ready for whatever's in it to come out."

Minimus reaches for his hammer, considers the collateral damage that will ensure if he were to strike the walls of this building, and reaches for his large gun instead.

"Prepare long-range attacks in case it is hostile."

The Mimic slowly opens one eye, wondering what everyone's just standing around and talking for, then it sees the gun. It knows what those are, apparently!

It scrambles forward and tries to Chomp at Minimus' leg!

The moment she sees the Mimic move, Ena steps forward to throw five fat orbs of Magic Missile at it. It won't do too much, but hopefully it'll figure out that attitude will not be tolerated. ]

[Damn! Better he than the smaller members of the party, and he retaliates with a single shot from his gun while attempting to kick his leg hard enough to force it to let go of his leg.]

"It's not in the box!" Corrin yells in alarm as the chest itself opens an eye and then leaps to chomp at Minimus leg. With Ena attempting the magic attack, Corrin [draws Shadow Yato] and attacks it with the blade, slashing it for [Physical] damage.

"You okay, Magnus?"

Mimic's Remaining Health: 80%

The Mimic seems to have a good grip on Minimus' leg and his chomping his way up and down the shin. He does glance over when the Magic Missile knocks him around, pausing long enough to be shocked.

Then he gets shot! And cut!

It lets go of the leg and starts running in a circle, not sure what to do with so many attackers around. Okay, he's going to run at Ena this time. She was the one with the magic stuff!

"Thank you, Corrin." Ultra Magnus tests the stability of the armor leg. He won't be able to run as quickly as he used to run, but he can still walk. Thankfully, he has a Cybertronian medic at home.

The thing looks so confused, he wonders if it doesn't pose a threat anymore--oh, he's going for Ena. He fires a Righteous Shot at the Mimic.

[ Ena instinctively takes a step back when the Mimic turns to look at her. No!

It's coming at her, but she won't stand for it. She extends her arm to cast Hold Being. ]

There was no time to come up with a proper plan before the mimic started attacking them, so Marinette huffed and aimed a Brasier at the offending monster.
