Crystals have fallen out of the Dream Width in a beautiful meteor shower and scattered all over the world! Due to their origins and mysterious properties, the Curti Center is interested in gathering as many as they can for researching purposes. To incentivize the public in helping out, O'aka has donated a few silver coupons to those top few who collect the most crystals. There's also a rumor that the one person (or more if there's a tie) who collects the most, wins something marvelous and mysterious~

The hunt for these crystals have taken storm across Vaikuntha and they're suddenly worth a lot. It's all anyone talks about anymore! The locals have gone crazy with it! If you weren't interested to begin with, surely the madness that is this new fad has sunk its teeth in. Besides, who knows what the crystals can actually do? Are they gifts? Curses? Dust collectors? Only one way to find out.

Klonoa blinks, turning around to see Kuja there in all his... Kuja-ness? "Oh, hey..!" He says, and steps closer towards the both of them. "Sorry to interrupt, but... why's everyone acting so strangely around here?"

You approach Pharce at the entrance of the temple, and he recognizes you! Was it because of the last time Ka’Pandol flooded or the whole Bahamut situation or something else? No matter, the Heroes are getting pretty popular these days.

He smiles at you but it looks apologetic. “Heroes of Light, I’m so glad you’re here. I’m afraid admittance into the temple is closed until the flooding’s handled but do trust that we have everything under control. Don’t worry about us.”

Kuja taps his chin. "Ah- happily, that may not be of great concern. Personally, I'm looking for the crystals, but if there's some way I could assist, I would happily accept a crystal or two as compensation for my time. Would you like to assist, Klonoa?"

...Klonoa looks hesitantly at Kuja. He takes a small step back and sort of glances to the side sheepishly. "I'd love to help, but.."

He shifts a little. "...I can't swim. If it involves swimming, I'll have to help with something else." He blinks, looking back up at Pharce. "Is there anything we could help with?"

Pharce shakes his head with a smile, waving a dismissive hand. “The situation here is handled but thank you,” he says then looks thoughtful about it. “I think they’ve got things handled at the stadium, too, but now that I think about it-... You know Shtan, right? He’s the one that owns the Hypello Shop? He put in a request for help from the flooding earlier, but I don’t think anyone’s had time to go check on the shop. If you could do that, I’d be grateful. But, ah, I have no crystals on me for compensation, no.”

Kuja sighs. As much as he would like to just shove the oaf aside, that would be rude. "Yes, fine, I'll go see to the shop. Can't be that difficult to stop water coming in."

He'll go visit the shop. Klonoa can come, of course, if he likes. "Are you alright? You seem a bit more melancholy than usual."

uh which option is checking the shop is that leave the temple

Klonoa nods. "Yeah, I'm alright.. I was just thinking about the eidolons again. About Bahamut, and all that. it really doesn't seem right summoning them to do things like that."

Klonoa is a bit oblivious. He is, of course, talking about what Kalki did as he heads on with Kuja to find the hypello's shop.

"I got called to get myself hurt once, but.. I don't know what I would do if I got forced to hurt other people."

You enter the Hypello Shop to find the small space occupied by three, blue, bug-eyed Hypellos. One is behind the counter while the two others are in the store itself. They all seem to be waving their arms in the air and swaying back and forth.

Probably has something to do with the water. In this part of town, it’s started coming up to your knees! Yet, this shop was oddly still open. The Hypellos seems to be in a panic, though!

The one behind the counter notices you. “Oh, a cushtumer! Look sharp, ebullibody!” His arms flap down to his sides and he looks at you with a slight head tilt. “Yesh? What can I do for you?”

Kuja frowns. "It's... not something I've thought about, much. I suppose it's much less objectionable when an Eidolon enters into a contract willingly with a Summoner. I might ask them myself, soon. I've been debating training as a Summoner, myself."

He pauses, as he enters the shop, looking around with disdain. He's staying on top of the water, of course, [Levitate] is useful like that, but still. "No, not a customer, but we have been instructed to render such assistance as we can... and I can't help but notice that you seem to have a mild flooding issue."

Klonoa nods, stepping hesitantly into the shop, his shoes getting wet. He looks... nervous. Uneasy. There's a lot of water here and it's starting to make him a bit concerned.

"Yeah, did some sort of pipe burst, or is this something else?"

“Well…” The Hypello looks down at the water and sighs. “Our pump hash broken. Maintenansh can’t fish it in time to shave our shop and we can’t afford a professhional contractor. We don’t know what to do.”

Kuja frowns. "How much would fixing the pump cost you? I haven't much experience working with... well, anything of that nature. Possibly I could do something, let me think a moment... Unless you know something about this, Klonoa?"

Klonoa frowns, canting his head slightly as he thinks. Broken pumps... that sounds like a puzzle to him. He's always up for trying to solve them. That being said...

"...I think we could try fixing it." Klonoa says, nodding to Kuja. "But, I can't do it alone if it's in water."

Kuja nods. "In that case, I believe I may have a temporary fix that will allow us time to fix this pump." He turns to the shop owner, frowning. "Incidentally, I at least am looking for these crystals that seem to be so popular of late- if you happened to have one or two, I think this little service could certainly be arranged, ah, pro bono publico, if you like."

"It may be over 100,000 gil to get ush shome aid," the Hypello mentions, "but appreciate any bushinesh or donationsh you shee fit to give. And of courshe, we don't mind you looking at our pumpsh."

Then he looks up at the mention of a cyrstal. “Oh, yesh. It’sh not for shell right now, though. The cryshtal’sh the only thing we have that we know will shurvive the flood watersh.”

He then turns around and points above the shelves. Sure enough, there’s a crystal in a little glass case. “It’sh all we have left.”

"Well, that shouldn't be too difficult, now should it?" The first and foremost thing- was to plug all points of entry, and ice was like stone if you made it thick enough. He cast [Blizzaga] first of all, forming it very carefully into a T-shaped block that would plug most of the door- but, importantly, leave an egress at the top.

"Yes, I think that will work as a stopgap measure. How many entrances into this building are there? I'll get them all and then we'll see about moving the water out."

"Oh dear." The Hypellos looked startled by this way of doing things. "Hmmm... If the presshure holdsh, we might be able to buy time to fish are pumpsh, yesh?"

The Hypellos all look at each other before throwing their hands into the air. "Thish might work, Hero! There ish only the front door. But how will the contractorsh get inshide?"

[ No options. I'm so late to this thread and this is so far off the beaten path, I'm winging it. ]

"Well, as I said, it's only a temporary measure. You're going to need to get someone to fix the pump, in the meantime, perhaps lay down some sandbags in front of the door in the meantime- Klonoa, you said you could fix the pump?"

Time to go to work, for now. He casts [Waterga] now, drawing water up like a siphon and pushing it in a steady stream out the front door.
