Crystals have fallen out of the Dream Width in a beautiful meteor shower and scattered all over the world! Due to their origins and mysterious properties, the Curti Center is interested in gathering as many as they can for researching purposes. To incentivize the public in helping out, O'aka has donated a few silver coupons to those top few who collect the most crystals. There's also a rumor that the one person (or more if there's a tie) who collects the most, wins something marvelous and mysterious~

The hunt for these crystals have taken storm across Vaikuntha and they're suddenly worth a lot. It's all anyone talks about anymore! The locals have gone crazy with it! If you weren't interested to begin with, surely the madness that is this new fad has sunk its teeth in. Besides, who knows what the crystals can actually do? Are they gifts? Curses? Dust collectors? Only one way to find out.

There's a familiar Zora. Uendo starts to head for Pharce before the guy's even done talking, but the news gives him a pause.

"Even the temple got flooded...?" The outside of the temple seems fine though. Is the water coming from the inside? He gives Naoto a puzzled glance before waving to get Pharce's attention.

Naoto looks over at Uendo and gives similar puzzled look before shaking her head. That didn't seem right especially considering whose temple it was. Though she is curious about the couple, speaking to Pharce comes first.

You approach Pharce at the entrance of the temple, and he recognizes you! Was it because of the last time Ka’Pandol flooded or the whole Bahamut situation or something else? No matter, the Heroes are getting pretty popular these days.

He smiles at you but it looks apologetic. “Heroes of Light, I’m so glad you’re here. I’m afraid admittance into the temple is closed until the flooding’s handled but do trust that we have everything under control. Don’t worry about us.”

"Still, we'd like to help in any way we can. Are you sure there's nothing we can do?"

"Indeed. Since awakening Leviathan, it's imperative to keep her Temple in order."

If this had nothing to do with the Crystals and something with Ultros, they definitely wanted it handled immediately.

“The situation here is handled,” he says with a grateful nod before looking off in the distance thoughtfully. “I think they’ve got things handled at the stadium, too, but now that I think about it-... You know Shtan, right? He’s the one that owns the Hypello Shop? He put in a request for help from the flooding earlier, but I don’t think anyone’s had time to go check on the shop. If you could do that, I’d be grateful.”

"Ah, I remember the place," Uendo says with a nod. "We could certainly go have a look."

Though if Naoto wants to ask more questions or investigate around the temple first, he's ready to follow her lead.

"Any idea what he requested before we head in that direction?"

Just so they could make sure they were prepared. Otherwise, they might have to change their plans.

"I think he said something about his store's pump being broken. At this rate, they're probably flooding pretty badly." Pharce frowns about this but glances back inside the temple. "Unfortunately, the maintenance crew is busy helping the city at large first before they can spare anyone. I think Shtan mentioned he would try to call a private contractor? But I don't know how that's worked out."

"A broken pump, huh..." Uendo won't be much help there. Naoto, though... She's good at fixing things, isn't she?

"What do you think, Shirogane-san? Does that sound like something you could manage?"

Looking at Uendo, she nods.

"Yes, that sounds doable. I can even switch Asterisk for further support."

"Let's go see Shtan, then." He turns back to Pharce. "Oh, one more thing before we go -- did you happen to see any of those crystals inside the temple, by any chance?"

Pharce laughs. “Once the situation became stabilized, a few of the workers searched the temple for crystals. They found none, though. It’s not too surprising, you see, since many of them fell through the dome and caused the floods in the first place. But getting into this temple is, as you likely know, an entirely different challenge.

“The workers have also looked into the pipes, though,” he continues thoughtfully. “They said some might have gotten into the system and are causing work to be delayed. They can’t get to any of those from here, if that’s the case. Maybe the stadium? But, ah, don’t worry about that. A couple of hours and the city will be right as rain.” He laughs. “Get it?”

Ah, so Pharce is a man of culture as well. Nice.

"Is that so? Guess we'll be taking a rain check on the temple, then."

This is Naoto's cue to stop him, otherwise Uendo will absolutely not cease with the rain puns for the rest of the investigation.

"..."

She's not here to listen to them go back and forth on rain puns. What they should do is leave for the Hypello Shop. Though, first thing on the way.

"We should go speak to those two... Domon and Joan."

You approach the pair and they stop their bickering just in time to look at you. They look… guilty of something.

Domon clears his throat. “Yes?”

Oh? He didn't really pay that much attention to the pair of Zoras earlier, but if Naoto thinks it might be important...

"Please excuse us. We don't mean to pry, but you sounded pretty unhappy just now -- is something the matter?"

There was more to them just being upset that had Naoto raising a curious brow, but she should probably leave Uendo to speak and take a more personable approach. Sometimes it good to have someone with better social skills.

“Ah,” Domon sighs and rubs the back of his head. “The workers at the stadium kind of asked me to do something and I might have done something stupid-

“Look, I had to go pick up a part for them, right? So I did, but I wanted to stop at the temple before going back to see if they had any crystals. I got in but they kicked everyone out and I think I left the part inside. I tried explaining-” He sighs again. “I’m sure the workers inside have already found and used it, so it’s gone for good. I can’t go get another and I can’t tell those guys that I lost it. On top of all that, we only have two crystals to show for it.”

Wow. He looks terribly guilty about it. “Anyway, sorry.”

"That's rough... These crystals are already causing a lot of trouble, huh."

Hmm. This is the closest they've gotten to finding one of the crystals. That, and Uendo feels pretty bad for Domon. Is there any way they could all get what they want?

"Say, would you be willing to let us buy one of your crystals? Maybe you could use the money to replace the part you lost before the folks at the stadium find out."

"Accidents happen. Still, we don't want Ka'Pandol flooded again."

These crystals were making people quite irresponsible, and what was the point of them? They came through the Dram Width at least, right? With a sigh, she just considered the fact they were going to go deal with the stadium issue shortly... though, if this part was already collected, would another be available?

... Would she have to craft a new part? Looking over at Uendo, right, they could purchase a crystal from them.

“They aren’t for sale,” Joan speaks up. “They’re for something important. We’re trying to cheer up a friend.”

“Yeah, he wanted to come but he had to work today,” Domon says, looking sad about it. “We wanted to find as many as we could and bring them back to him. Poor guy’s probably miserable.”

“You know,” Joan sighs, addressing Domon, “he probably doesn’t care about the crystals. He just doesn’t want to be cooped up while we’re out here allegedly having fun without him.”

“Maybe,” he kind of agrees, grimacing. “Either way, I want to stay here until they let us back into the temple.”

"I see... Fair enough." Uendo doesn't press further. No point haggling when there's sentimental value involved. "Well, I hope you won't get in too much trouble over this. If we come across anyone who might have any spare parts to spare, you guys will be the first to know."

He turns to Naoto. "Well then, shall we head back to the shop?"

"Try not to get into anymore trouble." Especially with how they were acting at the Temple. Maybe she should call Leviathan; she would know what's going on inside her own place.

Looking back at Uendo, she nods. "Yes. Let's get this over with."

You enter the Hypello Shop to find the small space occupied by three, blue, bug-eyed Hypellos. One is behind the counter while the two others are in the store itself. They all seem to be waving their arms in the air and swaying back and forth.

Probably has something to do with the water. In this part of town, it’s started coming up to your knees! Yet, this shop was oddly still open. The Hypellos seems to be in a panic, though!

The one behind the counter notices you. “Oh, a cushtumer! Look sharp, ebullibody!” His arms flap down to his sides and he looks at you with a slight head tilt. “Yesh? What can I do for you?”
