Plot || The Star Wars Vaikuntha Special
Who: Open
When: June 8-14
Where: Everywhere
What: The race for the crystals is on!!
Warnings/Notes: OOC Post
Crystals have fallen out of the Dream Width in a beautiful meteor shower and scattered all over the world! Due to their origins and mysterious properties, the Curti Center is interested in gathering as many as they can for researching purposes. To incentivize the public in helping out, O'aka has donated a few silver coupons to those top few who collect the most crystals. There's also a rumor that the one person (or more if there's a tie) who collects the most, wins something marvelous and mysterious~
The hunt for these crystals have taken storm across Vaikuntha and they're suddenly worth a lot. It's all anyone talks about anymore! The locals have gone crazy with it! If you weren't interested to begin with, surely the madness that is this new fad has sunk its teeth in. Besides, who knows what the crystals can actually do? Are they gifts? Curses? Dust collectors? Only one way to find out.

Rain Crystal - Ka'Pandol
If you bother to get around and ask the natives here about the crystals, you’ll mostly hear ‘you’re the fifth one today to ask me that today’ and ‘damn tourists’ and ‘don’t you see we have bigger problems right now!’ Sure enough, if you haven’t noticed by this point, there seems to be a flooding issue going on in the city. The pumps are doing their jobs, thankfully. It’s not them that’s the problem.
It’s the dome itself, it seems. Upon looking up, you’ll see small rivulets of water pouring down in various places, but maintenance crews seem to have the situation covered. Now, you have to decide what to do with yourself.

Ancient History Museum
She decides to head to the museum to check that place out first; it's a big building, after all, and there must be plenty of spots where crystals could be hiding. And if nothing else, at least she'll get to spend an enjoyable afternoon at the museum.

Jeff looks like he’s stuck in a minimum wage job by the way his tired eyes stare through your soul. He looks you up and down and says, “Entrance fee is 30 gil.”

“I’m fine, I guess.” He shrugs in answer to her question.
Congrats, you’re in the museum now! What should we look at first, Hero?

Leviathan's Temple
Maybe they should go ask Leviathan. She might have some idea what's going on, and it's been a long while since Uendo last visited her in person. And if they come across any crystals on the way down, hey, that's a bonus.

You push your way to the front, Hero, only to find a Zora at the entrance of the temple. His name tag reads ‘Pharce.’
“Everyone!” Pharce tries to call the people to attention, raising his hands at the crowd. “Please, don’t worry. The city maintenance workers are inside, and the flooding is under control. Until the situation is handled, however, the temple will remain closed to visitors.” Groans roll over the crowd. “We are very sorry for the inconvenience! Please, Leviathan would rather you remain safe. The temple will reopen once the flooding has been completely handled.”
Well, that blows.
A couple of Zora beside you, a man and woman, make their troubles known. The woman rolls her eyes after an insufferable groan and taps the man on the shoulder. “Come on, Domon. Maybe we should go back to the Blitzball stadium.”
“Are you kidding, Joan?” he whines. “I can’t go back there now. They’ll have my head.”

"Even the temple got flooded...?" The outside of the temple seems fine though. Is the water coming from the inside? He gives Naoto a puzzled glance before waving to get Pharce's attention.

Hypello Shop
He'll visit the Hypello Shop first; it makes sense that Hypello's will actually have been able to go outside of the dome and survey the damage, if not then perhaps he might be able to rent some sort of diving apparatus in order to check it out for himself.
no subject
Probably has something to do with the water. In this part of town, it’s started coming up to your knees! Yet, this shop was oddly still open. The Hypellos seems to be in a panic, though!
The one behind the counter notices you. “Oh, a cushtumer! Look sharp, ebullibody!” His arms flap down to his sides and he looks at you with a slight head tilt. “Yesh? What can I do for you?”
> Ask what he has in stock
> Ask why they’re open
> Ask if they need help
> Leave shop
> Ask why they’re open
Swooshing water around leathered boots which thankfully the water hasn't quite reached the point where it might have otherwise spilled over the top, Sephiroth surveys the interior of the shop in the same way he inspects near enough every room when he walks into it.
"I'm surprised to find you open..."

Ena clutches her umbrella and peers upward at the dome. The dome is at least under control, but that's not exactly the most comforting thought.
Regardless, she has a job to do. She wonders how the crystals managed to get into the dome, not to mention how they managed to preserve enough momentum through the water to somehow break through the dome, if that's what caused the cracks. But she hadn't seen any yet, so unless these crystals are microscopically small, one colliding with the dome could have shattered the entire thing. She didn't know how the dome was engineered, though--she could not ignore the possibility.
But she thought it was much more likely that someone brought one in. While the crystals appeared not too long ago, Vaikuntha was a constant stream of people going from one city to another, an impression she got from the intricate network of airships that connected the whole globe. But then again, while an outsider could have brought one in, she couldn't imagine that the owner would let it leave their person willingly. That is, unless they had a private and safe place they could put it, out of sight and out of reach from the general public.
Was there a place that had private storage for outsiders, but was also open enough to catch a crystal in case it fell directly from the dome?

The Blitzball Stadium. ]

And apparently you absolutely must come this way.
As you ascend the steps to the entrance, water rushes down alongside you. You can hear shouting, clanking, and the roar of water within. Once you’re at the threshold, you look down at the half-dome stadium seating to see that the water level inside the stadium is much higher than in the rest of the city. It’s halfway up the stadium! Thankfully, the stadium was built with these sorts of disasters in mind, so the water is being drained down the sides. What’s not so great is that it’s not being drained fast enough. The levels are definitely rising.
“Heeey!” A soaked, blond man in fashionable waiters and goggles jogs over to you. “About time you got here! This place is turning into a fish bowl!” He turns away and shouts down at another man closer to the water line. “Neggi! Lyh dra ynlr suja oad?”
The other is on his knees, somewhere between working and beating something with a wrench, when he looks back up at the two of you. “Fa fuh'd ghuf ihdem fa dno! Ajanodrehk'c picdat!”
“Aaah,” the other groans before looking back to you. “Did you bring the rotary couplings?”
> “I have no idea what’s going on. Goodbye.” Leave the stadium.

When the man rushes over, she gently lands on the nearest dry patch and watches their exchange curiously. She doesn't understand them, but maybe she could do her best to suss out the problem. ]

Frisk checks out the stadium first. It takes up a massive area in the city, after all, and is open to the sky. Seems a logical place as any to start.
