When: June 23rd-25th
Where: Ka'Pandol, the underwater city
What: While the outworlders and their guides are touring the new arena at Ka'Pandol, the city begins to flood. It is up to them to activate the ancient drainage system beneath the city before the Blitzball Association is forced to cancel the upcoming tournament.



The Zora guide, Pharce, is leading the group from the Curti Center through the center of town, waxing poetical about the legend of the First Zora, when the sirens begin to wail. At first, the residents of Ka'Pandol wave it off as a drill, but the sirens do not stop, and as they walk, the visitor shoes are beginning to get soaked through with sea water that is slowly rising.

"Come along, quickly, all of you!" the guide calls, leading the group to the Bureau of Tourism near the city center. As they walk, the group will see the aquatic residents quickly deploying bubble helmets around their 'exotic' pets -dogs, cats, parrots, squirrels- heads, just in case City Management takes their time righting whatever issue the dome is having.

"Inside, please. Safety first is our motto, so let's get you outfitted," Pharce says, waiving them inside. Each person is given one of the patented Ka'Pandol Bubble Helm, which will allow them to breath comfortably for several hours. Those that cannot swim are issued an emergency life vest as well.

The water had reached knee-level now. An emergency evacuation message broadcasts from loudspeakers.

"Well, yes, you could...but where's the fun in that?"

Pharce waves at the Hypello gift shop owner, and the two bow their heads in discussion for a moment. When they part, Pharce pats the Hypello (whose nametag declares him 'Shtan') on the back.

"My good friend will lend us some of his wares, if you will join me in saving the city. We wouldn't want this little mishap to delay the big game, after all."

Those that agree to hold off on fleeing the city will be split into groups and given instructions on where to go in order to help the sinking city of Ka'Pandol.

[ As it turns out, Chemist isn’t the most effective Job to be used on its own in a battle situation - lesson learnt. At the very least, Lean has been able to switch to Cavalier earlier on, so that at least he has a way to retaliate when the monster strikes.

And what a monster it is. Trying not to focus on the visuals, let alone the speech of the sea creature in front of him, he readies Light Arrow in Death Stance. ]

[Leviathan's voice speaks in Finn and Regis' heads.]

[The party attacks Ultros, who grunts angrily when the 'muscleheads' strike but purrs when being struck by someone pretty. It is incredibly uncomfortable.

He loses several tentacles, and finally screeches:}

YEE-OWWWCH! I don't want to be OCTOPUS SOUP! I'm getting outta here!

[Ultros activates his Get Ready For A Surprise! move and digs his remaining tentacles into the stone floor, hurling rock and dirt at the group around him for moderate damage. In a squirt of ink and a cloud of comical smoke, Ultros burrows away!

Leviathan thrashes angrily, but eventually, with Ultros gone, her anger calms.]

THOU HADST PASSED MY TRIALS AND PROVED THY WORTH. THOUS SHALT HAVE THINE REWARD.

[She summons a whirlpool of water which swirls and disappears, leaving a pile of pearls. They will be divided among those who faced the trials of Leviathan, and will equal around 20,000 gil per person.

There are also several Ultros tentacles for those people who like to salvage such things. It cannot be stressed enough that you do not know where those tentacles have been, nor is it recommended that you consume them.

Finally, the Eidolon Leviathan is now available for summoners to bond with. Those summoners who faced Leviathan's trials will already have formed a bond with Leviathan and will not need to pray to her to acquire her as a summon.

The Trial of Leviathan is now complete. The parties can now return to the surface, where the water has now been drained.]

[Reno takes some extra time just to stomp on tentacles left behind. A lot.]

[ Hunk might've gotten some dirt and some damage from the rocks, but... That's an octopus and it left behind some Ultros Tentacles.

Just gonna yoink up one or two of those real quick in between that stomping, yes sirree. For cooking. Yep. No mistakes gonna happen here, nope. ]

[Well... that was certainly something.

Once things had fizzled out, Marinette proceeded to gather up her share of the fancy pearls as well as one of those janky Ultros Tentacles. For... reasons she hasn't decided yet. Please don't stomp on her.]

( regardless of the fact that rutile is wearing gloves, it seems as though they're not taking any chances... and reach down to pick up one of the tentacles with a pair of forceps.

[Bonnie was paralyzed with fear and disgust at Ultros' words and the slimy way they swam across the room and got into her ears. The shiver ran right up her palm and made her fur break out in a cold sweat even with all the water soaked into her today.

But the assault that hits him and leaves him a few tentacles short goes by before she can shake herself out of it. Just in time to spot one of the tentacles twitch and flop about.]

GYAHHHH! KILL IT KUPO!

[And the moogle Jumps to make sure that it won't be used to harass anyone in the future. Of course now she's not sure if she wants to keep her spear.]
