Where: Ka'Pandol, the underwater city
What: While the outworlders and their guides are touring the new arena at Ka'Pandol, the city begins to flood. It is up to them to activate the ancient drainage system beneath the city before the Blitzball Association is forced to cancel the upcoming tournament.



The Zora guide, Pharce, is leading the group from the Curti Center through the center of town, waxing poetical about the legend of the First Zora, when the sirens begin to wail. At first, the residents of Ka'Pandol wave it off as a drill, but the sirens do not stop, and as they walk, the visitor shoes are beginning to get soaked through with sea water that is slowly rising.

"Come along, quickly, all of you!" the guide calls, leading the group to the Bureau of Tourism near the city center. As they walk, the group will see the aquatic residents quickly deploying bubble helmets around their 'exotic' pets -dogs, cats, parrots, squirrels- heads, just in case City Management takes their time righting whatever issue the dome is having.

"Inside, please. Safety first is our motto, so let's get you outfitted," Pharce says, waiving them inside. Each person is given one of the patented Ka'Pandol Bubble Helm, which will allow them to breath comfortably for several hours. Those that cannot swim are issued an emergency life vest as well.

The water had reached knee-level now. An emergency evacuation message broadcasts from loudspeakers.

"Well, yes, you could...but where's the fun in that?"

Pharce waves at the Hypello gift shop owner, and the two bow their heads in discussion for a moment. When they part, Pharce pats the Hypello (whose nametag declares him 'Shtan') on the back.

"My good friend will lend us some of his wares, if you will join me in saving the city. We wouldn't want this little mishap to delay the big game, after all."

Those that agree to hold off on fleeing the city will be split into groups and given instructions on where to go in order to help the sinking city of Ka'Pandol.

[Time seems to slow as the wave washes over the chamber. As each of the outworlders and natives deliver their show of cunning, Leviathan waits and watches. As each acts in turn, they will hear Leviathan’s voice in their head, assessing.]

[Dylas’ words seem to be working on the Eidolon, and the proffered fish disappears from his hands as she accepts his offering. And then you did the thing. We will get to the thing that you did below.]

Ren & Futaba

[As Futaba dances, a school of ethereal fish swirl around her, catching the light to add a little extra flash. Ren’s attempt at robbing the Eidolon yields a black pearl the size of his fist. Leviathan will allow them to finish their performance before speaking to them.]

Komaeda

IMPUDENCE! TO INSULT A GOD IS THE HEIGHT OF FOOLISHNESS

[Leviathan sends a jet of water to force Komaeda back against the wall of the chamber.]

It was his simple honest opinion, was not it more important not to lie to a god? Oh well, he had expected bad luck at some point. It had been to easy up until now.

The water forced him back, and now it really was too much. Once he reached the wall he passed out. But, even as he lost consciousness he knew that something good would happen later. It had to.

[ So uh, there’s fish, now? She almost feels like one of those princesses from Destinyland you always hear about. The ones with all the talking animals. But hey, if it helps with distractions it helps?

She keeps going until she’s sure Ren’s clear, adding a bit of extra flash and flair now that she’s got backups. Wouldn’t do to have him caught on the way out never again. ]

( and out from wherever he had been hiding, ren is back on the scene, a flip has him back-to-back with futaba again as the grin that hadn't left his face widens, and he strikes a pose. as he opens his hand and with a flourish of his coat, he reveals the pearl with a devilish—) Hn.

( he seems completely unphased by the glowing fish around them. actually, he looks pretty comfortable with the fact that they’re adding to their flair. and then, tacking onto all of what futaba had said… ) But maybe, instead of all of that— a token of our appreciation might be something you’d... treasure?

[A deep, rumbling chuckle resounds in the thieves' heads. The phantasmal fish disappear, and the pearl in Ren's hand shimmers, then disappears.]

[Kenichi watches as he tries to figure out what Leviathan meant. Show their cunning, huh? He winced at seeing Komaeda get on the shot back. This Leviathan was rather similar to the one in his world though he had only seen images of the great sea serpent. He gave a respectful bow.]

Great Leviathan, if you seak a riddle from our worlds, shorely this riddle shall satisfy you.

[He clears his throat before he recites the following.]
