Event || Mysterious Fathoms Below
Who: All characters who signed up
When: June 23rd-25th
Where: Ka'Pandol, the underwater city
What: While the outworlders and their guides are touring the new arena at Ka'Pandol, the city begins to flood. It is up to them to activate the ancient drainage system beneath the city before the Blitzball Association is forced to cancel the upcoming tournament.
The Zora guide, Pharce, is leading the group from the Curti Center through the center of town, waxing poetical about the legend of the First Zora, when the sirens begin to wail. At first, the residents of Ka'Pandol wave it off as a drill, but the sirens do not stop, and as they walk, the visitor shoes are beginning to get soaked through with sea water that is slowly rising.
"Come along, quickly, all of you!" the guide calls, leading the group to the Bureau of Tourism near the city center. As they walk, the group will see the aquatic residents quickly deploying bubble helmets around their 'exotic' pets -dogs, cats, parrots, squirrels- heads, just in case City Management takes their time righting whatever issue the dome is having.
"Inside, please. Safety first is our motto, so let's get you outfitted," Pharce says, waiving them inside. Each person is given one of the patented Ka'Pandol Bubble Helm, which will allow them to breath comfortably for several hours. Those that cannot swim are issued an emergency life vest as well.
The water had reached knee-level now. An emergency evacuation message broadcasts from loudspeakers.
"Well, yes, you could...but where's the fun in that?"
Pharce waves at the Hypello gift shop owner, and the two bow their heads in discussion for a moment. When they part, Pharce pats the Hypello (whose nametag declares him 'Shtan') on the back.
"My good friend will lend us some of his wares, if you will join me in saving the city. We wouldn't want this little mishap to delay the big game, after all."
Those that agree to hold off on fleeing the city will be split into groups and given instructions on where to go in order to help the sinking city of Ka'Pandol.

Trial of Leviathan- The First Wave
SHOW ME YOUR STRENGTH.

You want strength? Take this! [He unleashes his fury with a shout and a powerful sweep of his broadsword, his Shock Break attack aimed directly at Leviathan's underbelly.]
Noct! Ravus! Let's go!
no subject
He lets out a battle cry and takes a flying leap at the coils of sea serpent, angling his sword down to drive it in the way dragoons are wont to do as they jump. He puts all his weight behind that physical attack, unconcerned about whatever danger he might be leaving himself vulnerable to.]
Take this!

[Yet for the joking nature of the comment, his voice betrays a hint of the anger he knows is misplaced. Noctis' eyes narrow by a fraction, but he keeps an eye on Ravus as he raises his right hand, the doll on the ground spinning as he points at the Eidolon. It's not nearly as satisfying as a physical attack, but he lets out a Thundara spell.]
You asked for it!

Kanji grit his teeth. Ameno-sagiri, Izanami-no-Okami, Kusumi-no-Okami... himself. He'd fought the more desperate, weaker parts of himself not to crush them utterly, but to get it to calm down so he could accept them and add them to his own (at the time) piddly inner strength. Then came the gods, angry, testing, higher-than-mighty. He'd defeated them all. Leviathan was no different.
Both hands on the grip of the greatsword, he'd put it all into this one swing. He was strong enough to save himself and strong enough to save his hometown. If asked if he could save Vaikuntha, Kanji would give an emphatic 'yes'. He will find some sort of ability or some sort of way to make sure certain things wouldn't repeat themselves. This eidolon would be a hell of a help. Leviathan just needed to see if he was worth a damn, and knew his friends here would do the same.
With a roar he threw himself in, then left the ground in a leap. Paladin armor gleaming, blade all but singing through the air from the sheer force of it cutting through the air, he put his weight into bringing the weapon down and betting it all on a single blow.]

Okuyasu takes a running leap at Leviathan for a powered up Dragon Kick, aiming for a fin or gills. He has no clue if it works like a regular fish, but no isn't the time for thinking. It's time for action.]

[Hopefully, she doesn't mind him using his strength to protect the others. She didn't attack them, but those waves still could draw anyone back so he opened with a Flurry of strikes to reduce her strength even a margin for the next group. If he could be quick enough before Leviathan's attention was to the next group, he would follow up with a Bushido combo, the wind stirred by his first attack catching around his blade for that added wind damage.]

Distantly, she could hear the ruckus around her, people moving and spells being slung. For a moment, she just watched, still in her intense focus, the beast who'd posed the challenge. How she moved and held herself. How she reacted to the others.
This isn't the Lord of the Whorl, Castor reminds herself as her muscles coil, but she is no less of a danger.
There.
Castor takes off like a bullet, ready to one-two the Eidolon as soon as she grew close enough... ]

Anyone with shields or the ability to lessen damage put it on our casters and hardest hitters! If we're going to withstand this we need everyone on their feet.
[He keeps a sharp eye on what's going on around him. He'll launch his own attack soon enough. He can't think about what has happened or what will happen after the battle. There's only now and all of the people around him. He shifts his feet to better brace himself for an inevitable attack.
Time to show what they're made of.]

The wounds from her shark bite earlier opened up, spraying her own blood onto her sword as she dashed in, delivering Soul Eater with as much might as she could muster once the others had cleared away.-
If you want strength so bad, have it! Have the strength of a lifetime of pain and suffering has earned me!

So he was fine, he told himself. Voltron beat a god, once! They can do this. It's just a test! But then he sees Baiken's wounds open up, sees her run in and start swinging, and he gets mad, because his friend is bleeding, and she didn't need to be. Hunk charges in, shouting the closest he's ever done to a battle cry (and he can see why people do it, wow!) as he raises his combat fork for a-
Nope. He slipped in some of Baiken's blood and starts to stumble, about to faceplant into Leviathan herself. The upside is that something, likely the ephemeral Spirit of the Gourmand, nudges Hunk's subconscious. That battle shout quickly morphs into a Bite into the goddess of the seas.
A moment later, Hunk shoves himself away from Leviathan, nearly dropping his fork in the process, and... he just kinda stares into the abyss. As one does. Because he just did that. And he might even have a chunk of salty fish deity in his mouth. ]
(( worst part- Bite is stronger than Chop. Oops? ))

But it's important to stay focused in battle, and Shiro's shouted instructions help him do just that. Moving to the front line where he'll hopefully be able to get between his companions and any attack sent by Leviathan, Terra wills his own Rampart into existence, reinforcing Shiro's.]

[Shields formed around everyone as she continued her reinforcing of them. As Rampart was being put up in response to weather the storm.]

Gladiolus, Ravus & Noctis
THE STRENGTH OF THINE ALLIES. UNITED, EVEN THE WEAK BECOME POWERFUL.
Kanji & Okuyasu
A WHOLEHEARTED ATTACK, HOLDING BACK NOTHING. WILL THOU BRING SUCH DEVOTION TO MY TEMPLE?
Adrien
ONE SO SMALL, THOU ART WISE TO STRIKE WHERE THOU MIGHT GAIN ADVANTAGE. STRENGTH THROUGH STRATEGY.
Castor
ONE WHO LIES IN WAIT, GATHERING STRENGTH FROM THY SURROUNDINGS. STRENGTH WITH DELIBERATION.
Shiro
THE STRENGTH OF A LEADER. ONE WHO PROTECTS THE WEAK EMPOWERS THE WHOLE.
Baiken
ONE WHO PERSERVERES AND FIGHTS THROUGH THY PAIN. STRENGTH THROUGH SACRIFICE.
Hunk
[When Hunk Bites Leviathan, the Eidolon flickers out of physical manifestation for a moment in disgust. Then, thinking better of it, she phases back into physical manifestation, allowing Hunk to come away with a mouth full of scales. They do not grant any bonuses when eaten, but they are very sharp. She blasts him back to the wall with a jet of water.]
IMPUDENCE! HOW DARE THOU PLACE THINE MOUTH UPON A GOD!
Terra
ONE WHO SHIELDS THINE ALLIES. THE STRENGTH THAT WILL HOLD THE FRONT LINE AGAINST THINE FOES.
Nanamo
THE STRENGTH TO SUPPORT THINE ALLIES AND RELY ON THEM IN TURN. A BRAND OF BRAVERY ALL ITS OWN, TO STAND BEFORE A FOE ONE CANNOT FIGHT.
[Overall, the feeling projected through Leviathan's wave as it washes over the group and dissipates is that she is Pleased with the strength that has been shown to her.]
