Event || Mysterious Fathoms Below
Who: All characters who signed up
When: June 23rd-25th
Where: Ka'Pandol, the underwater city
What: While the outworlders and their guides are touring the new arena at Ka'Pandol, the city begins to flood. It is up to them to activate the ancient drainage system beneath the city before the Blitzball Association is forced to cancel the upcoming tournament.
The Zora guide, Pharce, is leading the group from the Curti Center through the center of town, waxing poetical about the legend of the First Zora, when the sirens begin to wail. At first, the residents of Ka'Pandol wave it off as a drill, but the sirens do not stop, and as they walk, the visitor shoes are beginning to get soaked through with sea water that is slowly rising.
"Come along, quickly, all of you!" the guide calls, leading the group to the Bureau of Tourism near the city center. As they walk, the group will see the aquatic residents quickly deploying bubble helmets around their 'exotic' pets -dogs, cats, parrots, squirrels- heads, just in case City Management takes their time righting whatever issue the dome is having.
"Inside, please. Safety first is our motto, so let's get you outfitted," Pharce says, waiving them inside. Each person is given one of the patented Ka'Pandol Bubble Helm, which will allow them to breath comfortably for several hours. Those that cannot swim are issued an emergency life vest as well.
The water had reached knee-level now. An emergency evacuation message broadcasts from loudspeakers.
"Well, yes, you could...but where's the fun in that?"
Pharce waves at the Hypello gift shop owner, and the two bow their heads in discussion for a moment. When they part, Pharce pats the Hypello (whose nametag declares him 'Shtan') on the back.
"My good friend will lend us some of his wares, if you will join me in saving the city. We wouldn't want this little mishap to delay the big game, after all."
Those that agree to hold off on fleeing the city will be split into groups and given instructions on where to go in order to help the sinking city of Ka'Pandol.

[Upon realizing the name on the ground, followed by the echos of whatever passed for a voice, it takes Castor a long time to find her words again. She's gone white as a sheet, and immediately begins fumbling with her Asterisk, switching back to MONK.
She keeps her breathing calm and her hands steady - no use panicking in a fight...but she was berift of her Echo and...
...this isn't Eorzea. Maybe...Maybe tempering isn't a concern...
Castor glances around quickly, watching people settle in, ready whatever comes next. She hears Cor distantly, already beginning to hyperfocus, already sliding into her ready stance, already primed to act as soon as she can. Her breathing calms, her heart calms, her fists tighten.]
Leviathan! Get out here already! If it's a test ye want, then I'll meet it!
no subject
If they could convince the serpent that they had good intentions, perhaps they could sway the beast to their side? She brought her staff down into a defensive stance as she looked to the others in the room.]
Can we convince them that we're not here to cause any trouble?
no subject
[Bonnie murmurs the name as she reads it aloud before glancing at all the others doing the same. She's feeling positively soaked right now but if this is what they came here for she's sure it will have been worth it. She gives a little shake of her whole body, trying to dry a bit, even if it's only temporary.]
Kupo...I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the Eidolons are in this world too but I guess I know how the others felt now, kupo.
Um, Mary never did work on being a summoner, but it does sound like we're about to fight. [Her little brow furrows as she thinks about what Uendo said.]
Three waves...like waves of the ocean, kupo? Mary told me that in a storm the best thing to do is sail directly at the wave to go through it, kupo.

[Heck, that sounded like a pretty good name for a mech, come to think of it. But from everyone else's response, whatever they were dealing with here was going to be something a little more impressive. And it was going to... 'test their worth,' or something like that.
Tch. Wouldn't be the first time he'd heard those words, nor the first time he'd rise to the task. And with the water already starting to drain from the room, he took the chance to breathe a sigh of relief and finally load up those [•Thunder Bullets] he'd been itching to put to use. By the time he'd snapped the chamber in and had the Gunblade readied, he was back to that ineffable, cocksure grin.
He even had a few good, combat-proven friends present and ready for it.]
Then let's show 'er what we're made of.

[This was WAAAAAAAAY over Sasami's head. She didn't have Tsunami's protection or the help of Tenchi or Ayeka or any of them. She should just turn around and run...
...but, that wouldn't help anyone at all, more or less everyone gathered, would it? She needed to charge forward and help everyone she can.]
...I'll stay and help.
no subject
Wait... [ Hunk looks at Shiro. At the letters on the wall. At how many people are gathered. ] Was flooding the city all a part of some stupid test?! [ And so he readies his Combat Fork and falls in alongside Shiro. For once, Hunk looks stern. Confident. Not cool, Leviathan. ]

We’ve entered an Eidolon’s domain and you start off by raising your weapon?!
[ Sure, the trembling might have been enough of an indication of what the entity is capable of, but that’s exactly the reason why it fills him with dread to witness such blatant disrespect. These people aren’t aware of the risks in the slightest. ]
Keep your guard up, but don’t even dare to strike first.
Three waves...-
[ he reiterates the instruction, wondering if it really is as straightforward as it seems to be. ]
If we show skill in being able to manipulate the water, we could be heard.

[Before Salieri could ask what a leviathan was on this world was, but the rumbling cuts him off. His first impulse is to revert to his natural form as a reflex. Since that doesn't happen any more, he subtly moves behind someone bigger than him, which is pretty easy to do. Sal's pretty small.]
...I am starting to wish I had taken Summoner over Ninja for my second specialty. Is this going to turn into a battle?
no subject
'Tis a pleasure to meet you, naughty Leviathan.
[Her guitar slid into her hands. Just for fun, she played a spiraling speed lick, all while focusing ahead and smiling devilishly.]
If you wanted our attention, perhaps you ought have sought less soggy options.
no subject
He was naive- so naive to think that deactivating system would be just that. He should've gone with them as well! What if he's late!? Switching to his Ninja asterisks, he flew through corridors, jumping over knocked over furniture, then staircases, landing at the bottom of them with a single jump. He had stopped praying a long time ago but if ever was a time for it-]
Bloody hell-
[The door to the lower levels were stuck, but he didn't have time to go and find another route. He pulls out his dagger, imbues it with fire magic and cuts through the seams, kicking it open. After that, he lost the track of time and how much he needed to arrive at the center, using every single advantage of his class to hurry up. Once out in the clearing, out of breath, his eyes search for Noctis, Gladio, Ravus- anyone familiar-]
Like hell you're going through this alone again, [he mutters and starts going through the people, trying to see where everyone is. This time- it will be different. Way different.]
no subject
The question is, what will the consequences be if the test is not completed.
[ He hears you, Cor. Loud and clear.
He spins his staff, then slings it across the back of his shoulders, hanging both wrists over it. ]
Leviathan. Would it be the Leviathan that you know, Noct, or would we get to see how an Eidolon is different from an Astral?
no subject
[Though, they could probably blame Ultros somehow. Either way, now that they were here, they might as well. It would be imperative to inform at least the top of the Guild later about the Eidolon, or maybe even find out what they know.]
It's likely this Leviathan will be familiar to someone... though, similar to ones anyone here knows is debatable.
[Though, the small Gunslinger/Summoner is ready for this confrontation...]

"Wait, wait, wait, no. Screw this noise!" Frisk shakes their head and waves their hand, backing off. "You guys are all insane! No way am I..." Then a look of dread flashes across their face. "Papyrus. Um. Buddy. Pal. Are you staying here?"
no subject
Whatever this is, there had better be a good pay check for taking care of it. -She rolled her neck and her shoulder.-
I'm not here to prove myself, I'm here to earn my pay.
no subject
[Though he pauses, because it. Might not be wise to leave Frisk somewhere so dangerous. But it is his job to protect them. But they look intimidated. And that's not good.
He frowns, fidgeting. Oh, what to do?]
ERM. BUT IF YOU'D RATHER LEAVE, I UNDERSTAND. I DON'T WANT YOU GETTING HURT, YOU KNOW!
no subject
Well, if so many of you are staying, I'm not going to let you stay alone, but is this really wise?
no subject
Leviathan... ( and images of his encounter with sae niijima's shadow crept into his thoughts— sae "leviathan" niijima...
and just like that time, he would meet this challenge head on, too. )
no subject
I'll do my best to help you guys out... whatever this challenge might be.
no subject
if it proved to be a challenge of might, perhaps rutile may have their work cut out for them... )
no subject
The locals brought us down here... [ And, no, he's not totally convinced that something wasn't orchestrated.
Going by most of the group's reactions, he figures this an Eidolon and not a very nice one. It probably could have easily destroyed the city, so perhaps the thing isn't powerful enough. Perhaps it only wants someone to summon it. Considering not very many people were trying to figure out the riddle, he was opting to be on guard.
Finn switched to his Gunslinger job and readied his weapons in case things got messy. ]
Keep a cool head. [ Said more as a growled warning than a barked order. If they could avoid a fight here, that would be swell. ]
no subject
Seeing the others readily puts her on guard to equip her job and retrieve her stave as it gripped in hand. This was going to be another situation. One she isn't sure of. ]
no subject
Unlike most everyone else he didnt raise his weapons he also didnt change jobs, it made more sense to stay as a white mage.
What would the next step be? Would they be lucky? Or unlucky.... Ah, he wanted to see what Heroes would acomplish!
no subject
Hailing Ignis over, Gladio moves to stand beside Noct with his blade in hand.]
Oh I'll prove my worth alright. We all will.
no subject
[Azusa takes her position in the back, withdrawing her cards from the sleeve of her Astrologian's robes. She's still wearing the Cloud City Dragons visor she purchased for the tournament.]
I'll support you all as best as I can, of course. [She clears her throat.] Leviathan-san! I'd like to meet you as well!
no subject
[Casting a glance at her fellow healers, she remarked,] I will be on protection and general spot healing if it comes down to a scramble for arms. Are you all right with that?
[This directed to Azusa and Euphie as she drew her staff. In a commanding voice, she proclaimed,] Come, lord of the whorl, let us stand fast together. I, Nanamo Ul Namo, call upon you Lord Leviathan.
