Event || Mysterious Fathoms Below

Who: All characters who signed up
When: June 23rd-25th
Where: Ka'Pandol, the underwater city
What: While the outworlders and their guides are touring the new arena at Ka'Pandol, the city begins to flood. It is up to them to activate the ancient drainage system beneath the city before the Blitzball Association is forced to cancel the upcoming tournament.

The Zora guide, Pharce, is leading the group from the Curti Center through the center of town, waxing poetical about the legend of the First Zora, when the sirens begin to wail. At first, the residents of Ka'Pandol wave it off as a drill, but the sirens do not stop, and as they walk, the visitor shoes are beginning to get soaked through with sea water that is slowly rising.

"Come along, quickly, all of you!" the guide calls, leading the group to the Bureau of Tourism near the city center. As they walk, the group will see the aquatic residents quickly deploying bubble helmets around their 'exotic' pets -dogs, cats, parrots, squirrels- heads, just in case City Management takes their time righting whatever issue the dome is having.

"Inside, please. Safety first is our motto, so let's get you outfitted," Pharce says, waiving them inside. Each person is given one of the patented Ka'Pandol Bubble Helm, which will allow them to breath comfortably for several hours. Those that cannot swim are issued an emergency life vest as well.

The water had reached knee-level now. An emergency evacuation message broadcasts from loudspeakers.

"Well, yes, you could...but where's the fun in that?"

Pharce waves at the Hypello gift shop owner, and the two bow their heads in discussion for a moment. When they part, Pharce pats the Hypello (whose nametag declares him 'Shtan') on the back.

"My good friend will lend us some of his wares, if you will join me in saving the city. We wouldn't want this little mishap to delay the big game, after all."

Those that agree to hold off on fleeing the city will be split into groups and given instructions on where to go in order to help the sinking city of Ka'Pandol.

Nunnally is fine.

[ Does Euphy really think that Lelouch would ever jeopardize that sister's safety? If he could keep her locked up in a box then he would. Yes, she's safe and sound. As for the rest... Well he assumes that Suzaku is running around helping people himself. ]

I haven't seen Suzaku or Cornelia. Mogya is keeping an eye out for them.

[ Even trudging through the water, he is waiting for his next update from the Moogle. ]

[ Knowing Nunnally is fine is at least a relief to hear. But with no word from Cornelia or Suzaku, her worry only increases. The last thing she wanted was to lose them both after they arrived. Fretting, she paused in the now waist deep and rising waters to try and see if it was possible to use her iMog. In the water, no less. ]

We have to reach them. They have to be here!

[ She panicked, hoping the connection would go through even if it was a little waterlogged at the moment. With nothing working and her ability to keep her feet to the ground failing, Euphy searched around in a last attempt to try and find some means of shelter. Seeing a few survivors huddled in one of the bubbled structures, she loses all interest in the iMog and wades over to the bubbled area in hopes of perhaps finding Suzaku or Cornelia there. Off she went, paddling or whatever in her dress, trying to keep up with the current until finally, she reached the SANCTIONED off area filled with life-preserving air. ]

Suzaku?! Sister?!

[ A few randoms taking refuge, perhaps. But none of them were Suzaku or Cornelia. ]

Suzaku is likely helping others. You know he can't stand to do nothing -

[ But he doesn't even know if Cornelia is present. There is a good chance of it since Euphy is here and seeing one without the other at the moment would be odd indeed. But that's not what cuts him short. It's Euphy taking out the iMog. ]

Euphy, that isn't going to work there's too much going on. You'll just damage it. Where is your Moogle?

[ That's the best way to communicate right now, in Lelouch's opinion. Doesn't seem like it matters though, Euphy is on the move and Lelouch follows. The water is getting harder to be in and Buttons does what she can to help Euphy move easier in that dress. Kind of pulling the princess along while Lelouch follows them both into the "shelter." At least they won't drown... ]

They are fine, Euphy. They're probably already out by now.

How can trust you to know they're fine?

[ Liar. ]

[ Duh. ]

[ Frowning. Much frowning. She does trust them. She trusts Cornelia. And she trusts Suzaku ... who was just a little bit too honest. With nothing to argue, she turns and tries to find a quiet spot to park int he safe house away from the whispered tones and to try and dry off her dress. Quietly. ]

[ At least there's that. She can't argue it so that means she can at least agree to trust in what she knows about them.

But now there's just awkward silence instead. Oops? ]

[ Oops. Because she’s the reason behind the BIGGER OOPS? Yeah she’s silent and awkward and sometimes staring because :| ]

[ Okay but he's also looking back at her? When she looks at him or when he thinks she's looking away of course. ]

[ Yeah this is awkward. The last time she was soaked... ]

[ Was that a lie too? No. It was genuine. Maybe. Remembering what her sister said. ~~A glance is given to the other survivors~~ Fuck it we will say they are alone in this precious bubble space pod of air awaiting rescue themselves and make this personal. So now Euphy is going to observe the rising water instead she can see from inside the pod thing. ]

You used your Geass power on me.

[ Oh. So... They are going to actually. Um. Talk about this. Lelouch pauses, only because he isn't sure how to answer. Yes, but defend his reasoning? ]

I did.

[ Or just admit it. Because regardless of of it being an accident, he did use it on her. ]

[ Sure why not. Submerged in a dome with air so they can get dry while the rest of their surroundings fill with water is perfect for discussing terrible and life altering events. And since she’s forced to wait rescue here or at least until someone brings them spare air helmets. ]

On purpose?

[ Might as well ask. ]

[ Lelouch shakes his head. It's so tempting to push away. But he had told the others that he wouldn't if she came to him. If she wants to know the truth then she is going to get the truth. ]

No. By the time I realized what happened, it was too late.

[ Not on purpose. An accident. So it was true. Though Lelouch hinted at it in his own ways, Cornelia was the one to bring IT to light. But it was surreal to think that IT was the reason for her death and why they never worked together. An accident. A power to control anyone’s will. And Lelouch... possessed it? ]

But you intended to. Before that. That’s what you meant by getting me to shoot you. Isn’t it? You were going to force me against my will.

That was my original plan, yes. [ No use in denying that. It's true. Lelouch had planned to use his power to make Euphemia open fire at him. ] A small, ceramic gun to be precise. You'd shoot me and a few days later I'd make a miraculous recovery.

[ Because, again, in the end he just couldn't bring himself to shoot her. He couldn't do it. It seemed like his plan was the best solution. ]

You changed my mind.

You wanted to make a fool of me. To make it appear as if I would betray them. I didn't understand what made you possibly think I could shoot you, but ... [ Now a bit of fear is mixed with that concern. ]

Your ... Geass.

You think that's what it was about? To make a fool of you? [ Lelouch scoffs. ] It was about winning. How could I proceed with my own ambitions without doing something? I couldn't think of anything better than that plan and even then...

[ Lelouch sighs. Rubs at his temples. ]

It was last minute. I had nothing else and even then when we spoke I was going to abandon it.

I didn't do it to win. I did it for Nunnally. I did it for the people! I did it for ...

[ 'You.'

But she stops herself shy of even saying his name and just stares at him in disbelief. No. It was not right to be angry at something he ultimately did turn around on. Until she thought it a ploy. A lie. A fabricated show of trust until he used his "Geass". Even though Cornelia had explained as thoroughly as her understanding of Geass allowed, it still didn't make sense completely. ]

You had a power and used it as Zero. A power you were going to use on me. And then you didn't ... but then you did. On accident. [ Is she getting it right so far? ]

And then you killed me. Because I couldn't be saved.

I know. It was the entire reason I decided not to follow through with it. You may not remember, but I was starting to talk to you about Geass and how it worked.

[ Which is why the accident had started in the first place. ]

It explains how I was able to accomplish what I had. Unfortunately, as one uses it the power grows. Then one loses the ability to control it at will.

[ He doesn't want to talk about killing her. Thinking about it makes him ill all over again. ]

I fell apart afterwards.

[ Seeing his reaction at being killed is hard to pin whether its genuine or an act. No. It's genuine. She feels it. Like she did in the past? Uncertain. Concerned. Doubtful. Yet... trusting. Confusion aside, she wants to trust him. Again ]

I need to know. You said you would tell me everything. That I deserve to know the truth. So ... I need to know.

[ It was time to learn. Was she better off? Maybe. But closure felt better than heartache. ]

What did you make me do that I was 'too far gone to be saved'?

It's not about what what I ended up making you do. The issue was that you wouldn't be able to stop.

[ Lelouch sucks in a breath. He shouldn't tell her, but at the same time... How can he not? ]

Before I tell you, you have to promise me something.

[ Isn't sure she likes where this is going. ]
