Event || Camp Curtisy Retreat
Who: All characters
When: July 17th - 22nd
Where: Nah Nami Reserve
What: Characters go to the campgrounds to do some team building exercises and build CR.
Warnings/Notes: See prompt D for Mognet glitches

A. Arrival
[On the morning of the 17th, Mogaruru directs the outworlders and Curti Center employees who have signed up to the airship headed to the Nah Nami Reserve. Counselors hand out pamphlets with maps, general camp rules, and the week's itinerary. This place loves their pamphlets. Fortunately, most of the rules detail common sense: quiet hours are at 10pm, no smoking or alcohol, no harming the forest wildlife, no setting off fireworks.
After they touch land, the arrivals are free to pick their cabins and set up their rooms before gathering at the mess hall for lunch.]
B. Team Building
[It's not a corporate retreat without ice breakers! On the first day, every splits into groups sharing their names and one interesting fact about themselves. Throughout the day, there's all sorts of get-to-know-each-other events. Maybe Never-Have-I-Ever (alcohol is replaced with juice). A game of Truth or Dare? Trust falls? If it's meant to foster friendships, it's here.
There are also races and obstacle courses for those that want to compete as a team.
Mogaruru oversees the main activities, even leading a workshop in building paper-mache Moogle masks, encouraging everyone to find their passion.]
C. Actual Camping
[There are important life skills to be learned when living in the great outdoors. Hiking, learning about local flora and fauna, and cooking are included in the itinerary. Complaining about the sun and constant reminders about staying hydrated, too.
In the evenings, there's campfires for any type of socializing. Perhaps now is the time to have heart-to-heart chats over roasting marshmallows or swap scary stories about the Camp Lake Ira Killer.]
D. Late Night Hijinks
[After dinner, campgoers are allowed to use Mognet to catch up with news and chat with friends...though considering the glitches that occur during this event, it may prove to be less relaxing considering the glitches that occur in Kupoto's charge.
Things are fine on the 17th. On the 18th, however, messages to and from the Curti Center are delayed by 10 minutes. In an effort to fix this issue, Mognet is down at the Curti Center on the 19th. On the 20th, it's fixed...but all posts are made public. On the 21st, this is addressed, but now every subject line begins with "!Kupo".
Someone is going to have a stern talking-to when Mogaruru returns.
But that's fine. Campers are free tosneak travel outside in a group for totally legal activities. After all, no one would sneak booze or fireworks or play pranks on the other cabins, would they?
At least, if they don't get caught. Otherwise, it's cleanup duty for the rest of the trip.]
E. The Great Outdoors
[The Nah Nami Reserve boasts beautiful forests and a beach. The weather is beautiful. There are no monsters on the reserve...unless one considers the large fish living far from the beach shoreline to be monsters. Or if they are unlucky enough run into one of the larger animals in the forests. Fighting back can be overlooked as long as they don't grievously injure their opponent, ideally escaping without harm to either party. These are protect species, after all. It shouldn't be a problem if they are with Camp Curtisy counselors, but chances are there are some hiking groups that decided to explore the entire island on their own.
The beach includes a long stretch of sand, rock outcrops with tidal pools, and a net for volleyball. Some counselors have "TEAM LAVODE" shirts left from last month's Blitzball tournament, especially the Hypello lifeguards.]
F. Lessons Learned
[Now's the time for the campers to shine. Counselors lead workshops on arts, crafts, survival skills, and languages, but slots are open for all participants to lead a class of their choosing. Want to teach the history of your homeworld? Have any other skills you wish you share? This is your chance to show off what you know!]

Regis Lucis Caelum - One Night Only (19th)
I. Looking for information.
Of course, even though Regis supposed that Iris wasn't in Vaikuntha anymore, there was always a chance that he was wrong. From what he had seen of her, Iris was not the type to disappear on her family without any contact for days on end - Gladiolus's example notwithstanding - but there was the small possibility that she had been kidnapped. Or something along those lines.
So he was going around with a picture of Iris Amicitia. I'm sorry to bother you, but have you seen this girl over the last few days? Or anyone who might have looked like her? Or anything suspicious?" Regis's smile stayed on, easy enough, even though his sadness for Clarus was deep and real.
II. Visiting people.
Of course, large as the camp was, the people here were still - a limited number. Eventually, he and Clarus ran out. Regis tried to settle his Shield down with something warm to eat, though he didn't know if Clarus was willing to rest, and went on to make some more rounds. This time, to see the people he'd met before now.
"Hey. How's the camp been treating you? Is everything all right?"
III. Staff practice.
Traveling was exhausting, and worry even more so, but it only trained some muscle groups. Regis was far too aware of what missing proper practice could do, so there he was, at one point in the evening and then also early in the morning, with his staff, going through katas. And if he was a little more forceful than necessary, well, nothing was getting hurt, in the clearing he'd picked for it.
IV. Rest.
Late in the evening, he was sitting by a campfire, staring into the flames and trying to put his thoughts in order. It was probably as futile as any other night over the last few days, but if he didn't try...
V. Wildcard.
Choose your own adventure. Also will match format.

"Oh, uh, hey!" Prompto stumbled over his words a little. His awe and reverence would probably never fade exactly.
"Yeah. How's everything else going?"
AWW
He did just want to check in, all things considered. "You had dinner, yet?"
What. Food did make most things work easier.
no subject
"N-No, it's fine, really, I was just-it's nothing, yeah, so." Prompto babbled freely.
"Sorry you haven't found her." He offered a little softer, sympathetically, before shaking his head.
"Nah, I haven't."
no subject
Some people had it drilled into them to inform others when and where they were going. Drilled by an Amicitia, actually. It also seemed... courteous.
"Let's get something to eat, then. There is organized camping food, right? Or only what each of us brought?"
no subject
"Yes, there is. Um..yeah, come this way?"
Prompto got to his feet, dusted off his pants and started off in the direction of camp food.
no subject
"Thanks." And, as they walked over, "is Gladio usually like this? Or is this place and all it's made happen getting to him?"
There were things to not ask Clarus right now, and this was certainly one of them.
no subject
When he thought about it, even before Noctis followed him, he must have thought Noctis would be safe, either in their hands or in the place, because he wouldn't have left his king without a shield otherwise.
"Gladio cares about his family." That, Prompto was sure of. "And...having lost his dad, I could see him going everywhere for his sister, but he tried to leave Noct behind. That was a little..." He sighed. "He's a good shield."
no subject
"People make mistakes. They... are sometimes very important mistakes, and sometimes they are personally very hurtful. But if you're worried that I'll try to remove him from his position, I'm not." He shrugged, just a little. "This is a strange world. We're all figuring out what everything means, and everyone is on edge, at least in some ways. It's only fair to give him a chance to figure it out, as we all are."
Just... for the record.
(no subject)

Only to see a familiar face sitting by the fire. It was understandable but still- the man didn't even look like he wanted to try to sleep. So, in his sleeping pants and shirt, he made his way over to him once he was done making tea, two cups in hands.
"Unable to sleep, your Majesty?" he asks quietly, handing over a cup.
JAMMIES
"Thank you." He took the tea and motioned for Ignis to sit, if he wished.
"Rather soaking in the atmosphere. People seem to have fun."
And if he was going to keep up the part of being Clarus's strength, he couldn't let himself be sapped out by worry. Or grief. Or... well. Anything else that would weaken him if left unchecked.
"You?"
I'd question the things you choose to focus on but... JAMMIES
"I... am fine. Thank you for asking," Ignis offers a smile but can't hold back the tired sigh after. He takes a good sip of tea and then speaks up again.
"Sleep keeps eluding me this past week." He's tired of feeling tired. And he's tired of feeling useless and driven up to a wall without a way out.
What is there even to question ;)
"Is that usual? When there is something complicated happening, that is." He... will not call Iris's disappearance bad. Not until they know something actually bad happened to her.
I mean- fair! :D
"No... not really," Ignis admits, feeling another swell of worry and disappointment swell in him again. "But these events have my mind filled with so many questions and not a lot of answers. In fact- no answers and a lot of worries."
\o/
"I doubt that I have more answers, though sometimes exchanging questions can lead to some clarity, oddly."
Or not oddly enough. But it is his offer to listen, or to talk - should Ignis need that.
III
Initially, he was much more into watching the form. Finn had been trained in some variants of staves, but he wasn't terribly good at it. Not like others who always trained with them, obviously. Regis' form seemed fluid and controlled, and admirably technique Finn figured he couldn't pull off.
But then he noticed the exertion and gained enough self-awareness to realize this was a private moment he was gawking at. He tried to step away quietly, but the well-placed bush he walked into seemed to have other plans about announcing his presence.
no subject
As focused as Regis was on his katas, he could never, ever afford to be oblivious about his surroundings. And it was rather easy to read the panic on Finn's face as he started backing off.
Regis finished off his motion, then spun the staff and planted one end of it into the ground.
"Whatever you realized that got you worried, don't worry about it." Clarification, and yes, Regis was actually looking over now, though he wasn't trying to call Finn back. Merely trying to reassure.
no subject
Regardless, Finn just stood there, one hand on a nearby tree to keep him from falling over. He was pretty shocked at the reaction he got... Finn glanced around the clearing and frowned back at Regis, figuring that the cat was already out of the bag anyway. "You okay?"
Going against the whole don't worry thing, yeah, but he was never good with orders.
no subject
At the question, though, Regis smiled, just a little.
"Nothing wrong with me personally. A friend's daughter's missing, however, and we're all a little worried. And by 'all' I mean those of our world. She's fifteen."
So he was unwinding in a way that wouldn't get in the way of anything or worry anyone additionally. But it was all right. All good things had to come to an end, after all.
"You? Doing all right after the whole run in with Leviathan?"
no subject
But before he could fall into a hole of empathy, Regis was already turning the topic around. He nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. It was just... weird. You didn't mean to summon that thing, did you?"
no subject
Regis shrugged, and then laughed, quietly.
"No. It was supposed to be Ifrit that I summoned. Ultros... I suppose it made some sense, considering the flooding." That the Eidolon of fire might not show up. "I've heard about Ultros showing up instead of either Eidolons already. Hopefully, now that Leviathan is reinstated as the Eidolon of water, that should grow less frequent."
no subject
But that would take more thought. For now, he nods. "I'm sorry."
But the whole Leviathan and Ultros thing is still curious. "I can't really understand it. I mean, how or why was Leviathan sealed away? And how did Ultros take her place? Too many unanswered questions there, but everyone seems pretty happy now that he's gone..."
no subject
Because it had happened before, and chances were it would happen again.
As to the rest, Regis tilted his head up and let out a soft laugh.
"Well, I did try to get some answers at the time, but I suppose they weren't for us to know. Though I think I'll keep asking the higher-leveled people in the guild. Perhaps someone would both know some answers and find themselves willing to share." Because there was only so much he could do just now. Eventually, he thought, perhaps. Not quite yet.
I.
no subject
An explanation he had given many times already, over the last days, but not everyone thought the same way, so it was reasonable to explain again. As many times as needed.
"It'd have been a bit too much to hope that she'd showed up here at camp."
Partly because Regis didn't think an Amicitia would disappear like that of her own volition. Well. He didn't think so until Gladio apparently had pulled the same thing off.
