Who: Come one, come all! [open mingle]
When: July 8th, mid-afternoon
Where: Hot springs in the Myste Aura mountains
What: A much-needed restful retreat. Maybe a little fun.
Warnings/Notes: Flirting and teasing possible, with a reminder to keep things PG-13 (swimsuits on please!)

Myste Aura's mountains could be imposing to the uninitiated, but they also hid a great many wonderful secrets. One of those, Tidus had discovered, was the abundance of hot springs perfect for unwinding after a tough battle or game. Everyone had had a difficult month, so why not invite them over?

He knew none of the others had much experience in this city or its mountains, so he offered to meet the group in a central location and walk them up. It wasn't too difficult of a hike, and once they arrived they would find chilled shower stalls to each side and three springs for their use: two segregated and one co-ed.

In other words, the perfect setting for a day of rest and relaxation.

[Okuyasu jumped at the invitation. Hot springs were always good, especially when asked by someone he know. The point of hitting in hot water was to chat with friends and bond, right? So he takes the next airship to Myste Aura, jumps off with his small bag, and follows the group up the mountain.

From the back, he recognizes the guy from the hospital wing. Okuyasu runs up the dirt path, stepping onto the grass several times to catch up, and when he's within yelling distance:]

Heeeey!

[ Finn turns sharply to see who's yelling and... freezes.

Oh, not him. Not him. Why did he look so happy? What was Finn supposed to do?

Unfortunately, he was frozen for too long, and Okuyasu was already approaching. UM- ]

Hi.

[As Finn has not reached "friend" status, he does not receive a heavy shoulder pat once Okuyasu catches up, fortunately. He bounds across the remaining distance, thankful that this guy was nice enough to wait for him.]

You remember me, right? I never got your name. [He was timid, but alright. He was a dude close to his age and one needed a buddy when hanging out at the springs.] I'm Okuyasu, by the way.

[ ... Who is this guy? This dude and the one that tossed him into medical might as well be night and day! At least, according to Finn's memory. Which, also- ]

I remember you. [ How could he forget??? ] I'm Finn...

[A short, easy name to remember! Okuyasu's luck is amazing.]

Last time I went here was for free. You know Ganeshan, the fish guy? He took us to all the Guilds when we first showed up so we got to see all the touristy shit.

[Okuyasu ended up visiting the hotsprings with Sparks Nevada, but this trip should be better already now that the grouchy old man isn't here.]

[ The fish guy???... OH! ] The guy that works at the Curti Center? Um... That's neat. That's nice of him.

[ He doesn't know why they're having a casual conversation right now. Did this guy have a selective memory? Did he have a twin? ] So... you're going up here, too, huh?

[This is certainly how you befriend another dude - violence and then hanging out.]

Yeah! Hot springs are real good at relaxin' muscles, and I'm trainin' every day. It's like, therapy for muscles and keeps you strong.

[He trains by punching dummies and jumping off cliffs. It hurts.]

[ That is actually how he befriended Poe Dameron so... checks out. ]

Wait, they are? I didn't know that. I thought it was, like-... [ He has no idea what he was thinking. ] A warm lake?

[Psh. Okuyasu crosses his arms.] A warm lake? You never heard of a hot spring? They're hot, dub.

[ Oh... Finn blinks. ] How hot?

[ Wait, why is he listening to this guy??? ]

Not boiling, but hot. [He thinks. He's not to certain. He's not a hot spring scientist.]

Like, hot shower, but you're sittin' in water.

Oh. Okay, that sounds nice. [ Weird but nice. How did it even do that? He decides not to ask right now.

Welp... Okay, he's not going to just ditch. He doesn't want to be that rude. Besides, he's kinda curious about Okuyasu. ] So... you, uh, do some training? Must be intense. [ What is small talk? Finn feels so awkward right now. ]

Yeah, on my own. I already know how to throw a punch. [He hunches down and throws a few boxing moves.] So I just hit things to make sure I don't get rusty.

[That's the easy part of training. After a few steps:]

I also practice teleportin' to the ground in case I fall off a cliff.

[ He just... hits things. That's excellent.

Wait- ] You can teleport?

Yeah! I'm also an Illusionist, so I can float and stuff. You know how cool it is to teleport behind a guy and punch him?

[A chuckle. It's amazing and close enough to his Stand powers.]

... No, I don't.

[ He's an illusionist? Finn has no idea what to make of this guy. ] Say, um, what did you do back home?

[A disappointed grunt.] Just wait until you see me in a fight. It's badass.

[But it's fine. He doesn't blame Finn for not believing him, who would think that a meathead like him would come up with something so clever? Back home, he was given one power and he had to find a way to make it useful. So...not all that clever after all.]

I go to school. Hang out at the convenience store. Take care of my dad. Normal shit.

[And fight serial killers, but that's not his normal life.]

[ Oh no no. Finn believes him. Finn definitely believes that Okuyasu would use his teleporting ability for a surprise punching attack. He frowns. ] Definitely the element of surprise. Sorry, I just... never would have thought of that. [ He can't think in that fourth-dimensional other plane sort of way.

But probably the most surprising thing out of this whole conversation is that Okuyasu does do normal shit. ] That sounds awesome. [ And he says it with an honesty he didn't know he had. School? Friends? Dad?

Finn just wished he could figure the rest of this puzzle out. Maybe he was thinking too hard about it? ]

[Okuyasu scratches his cheek. The next part...right, the next thing is to ask Finn what he does. That's how one makes friends.]

What about you? Where are you from, America?

[Human = from Earth. Easy enough.]

[ That's always a hard question to answer. ]

Ah, no. I haven't heard of that place. I kinda just drift around, to be honest with you.

Is this America place where you're from?

You never heard of it?

[An eyebrow comically rises with that question. Everyone has heard of America unless they're from...the future.]

Holy shit, is America gone when you're alive? Everything blew up, and you're just walking through a desert wasteland like in Mad Max?

[ What? ]

Um- I don't know? I don't know who Mad Max is. And a lot of things have blown up over the years.

[ But America wasn't one of the planets so- He shrugs. ] Maybe? I mean, we could also just be from different places. Maybe America never existed where I'm from.

Nah, we gotta be from the same planet.

[Sparks Nevada was from the future and from Earth. Uendo is from America. Lots of people from Japan.]

Otherwise [he grins.] if American never existed, you'd be from the past!

[ Huh. That's a thought. ] Maybe. I've met people from my past, so it could be possible.

Why do you think we're from the same place, though?

Uh, you're human? [He scowls.]
