What: A much-needed restful retreat. Maybe a little fun.

Myste Aura's mountains could be imposing to the uninitiated, but they also hid a great many wonderful secrets. One of those, Tidus had discovered, was the abundance of hot springs perfect for unwinding after a tough battle or game. Everyone had had a difficult month, so why not invite them over?

He knew none of the others had much experience in this city or its mountains, so he offered to meet the group in a central location and walk them up. It wasn't too difficult of a hike, and once they arrived they would find chilled shower stalls to each side and three springs for their use: two segregated and one co-ed.

In other words, the perfect setting for a day of rest and relaxation.

[ Finn, dressed simply in navy swim trunks, was very much enjoying the water. He had waffled on wearing a shirt to hide the scars on his back and shoulder but swiftly realized that he didn't actually care if anyone saw. Besides, the water was doing wonders on his nearly constantly aching back.

He floated in place, leaning back against the rock and dozing. It would almost be peaceful if his Moogle friend, Valli, stopped mucking around. She was currently swimming underwater, only the pompom above the surface, moving in tight circles. She occasionally paused that to come up for air and do the backstroke. ]

((ooc: Feel free to catch Finn and Valli at the hot spring or hiking up the mountain. You can also find him wandering into the co-ed showers if that strikes you. Oh and he'd love to learn a little about blitzball. For a good laugh, flirting's encouraged!))

[Okuyasu jumped at the invitation. Hot springs were always good, especially when asked by someone he know. The point of hitting in hot water was to chat with friends and bond, right? So he takes the next airship to Myste Aura, jumps off with his small bag, and follows the group up the mountain.

From the back, he recognizes the guy from the hospital wing. Okuyasu runs up the dirt path, stepping onto the grass several times to catch up, and when he's within yelling distance:]

Heeeey!

[ Finn turns sharply to see who's yelling and... freezes.

Oh, not him. Not him. Why did he look so happy? What was Finn supposed to do?

Unfortunately, he was frozen for too long, and Okuyasu was already approaching. UM- ]

Hi.

[righthandstand]

[As Finn has not reached "friend" status, he does not receive a heavy shoulder pat once Okuyasu catches up, fortunately. He bounds across the remaining distance, thankful that this guy was nice enough to wait for him.]

You remember me, right? I never got your name. [He was timid, but alright. He was a dude close to his age and one needed a buddy when hanging out at the springs.] I'm Okuyasu, by the way.

[ ... Who is this guy? This dude and the one that tossed him into medical might as well be night and day! At least, according to Finn's memory. Which, also- ]

I remember you. [ How could he forget??? ] I'm Finn...

[righthandstand]

[A short, easy name to remember! Okuyasu's luck is amazing.]

Last time I went here was for free. You know Ganeshan, the fish guy? He took us to all the Guilds when we first showed up so we got to see all the touristy shit.

[Okuyasu ended up visiting the hotsprings with Sparks Nevada, but this trip should be better already now that the grouchy old man isn't here.]

[ The fish guy???... OH! ] The guy that works at the Curti Center? Um... That's neat. That's nice of him.

[ He doesn't know why they're having a casual conversation right now. Did this guy have a selective memory? Did he have a twin? ] So... you're going up here, too, huh?

[righthandstand]

[This is certainly how you befriend another dude - violence and then hanging out.]

Yeah! Hot springs are real good at relaxin' muscles, and I'm trainin' every day. It's like, therapy for muscles and keeps you strong.

[He trains by punching dummies and jumping off cliffs. It hurts.]

[ That is actually how he befriended Poe Dameron so... checks out. ]

Wait, they are? I didn't know that. I thought it was, like-... [ He has no idea what he was thinking. ] A warm lake?

[righthandstand]

[Psh. Okuyasu crosses his arms.] A warm lake? You never heard of a hot spring? They're hot, dub.

[ Oh... Finn blinks. ] How hot?

[ Wait, why is he listening to this guy??? ]

[righthandstand]

Not boiling, but hot. [He thinks. He's not to certain. He's not a hot spring scientist.]

Like, hot shower, but you're sittin' in water.

[Tidus was doing his best to lean back and relax when a certain moogle brushed past him. He jumped a little, but quickly calmed when he recognized the red pom pom for what it was.]

Heh. Guess everybody's having a good time, right? Well that's good.

[Hey, that was Finn nearby, right? He flashed him a sheepish smile.]

[ Finn startled to awareness when Tidus jumped but relaxed when there was no obvious threat. He returned the shy smile. ]

She's not bothering you, is she?

[Tidus shook his head and smiled, having to laugh a little at his own silliness.]

Nah, I'm okay. She's just having a little fun. Unlike a certain guy I know.

[He cast a look over his shoulder at Zunne, who was quite content to wait by the showers with his nose in Tidus's iMog.]

How about you? Liking it so far?

[ Finn smiled at Zunne, pleased that everyone's enjoying the place in some way. ]

I love it here. I didn't know there was anything like this. It feels incredible.

[ This is a dude who had gone 99.999% of his life using sonic-only showers. This is amazing. ]

This is actually pretty new to me too. My old city was pretty far from anything natural, but my new team comes here all the time.

And I'll tell ya, it feels great after a rough game.

[He could doze here all day, but that's not what he's here for.]

So how've you been?

[ Finn's muscles understand how amazing of a relaxer this hot spring thing is. He's making plans to come back already. ]

Been pretty good. Found a place in Nakagawa and started doing police work out there. What about you? Haven't seen you since the whole Ka'Pandol thing.

[zanarkandian]

That's great! I hope they're treating you well.

As for me? I just moved here to be closer to the team. It's pretty quiet, practice is going good. Just wish I wasn't so far from my friends, y'know?

So I'm thinking about saving up for a boat. Going for a nice cruise once in a while.

A boat? [ And here Finn had been thinking about saving up for an airship he can't even fly. ] That sounds awesome. Did you have one back at home?

[ Also he sympathizes with the distance thing. ]

Yeah. Lived on a boat, actually, on the outskirts of the city. I used to watch the city lights dance on the water every night.

I never actually sailed the boat, but it can't take that long to learn, right?

That sounds beautiful. [ The most water Finn's been around was here, so it's almost hard to imagine. He'd like to see it. ] I have no idea, but it can't be harder than flying an airship.

[zanarkandian]

Oh yeah, I heard about the piloting classes! You doing that?

[As much as he grew up in the machina city, he's pretty sure that's not where his aptitude lies.]

[precognitive]

[ Max wasn't sure if she'd come or not. She hadn't really spoke to many people so it was pretty awkward just inviting yourself. She really did want some relax time though, especially after that whole weird debacle with the Moogles and the PuPus.

So there she was, floating in the water with her two piece on. Feeling more awkward at the potential for glaring eyes. Maybe she should have gone for a one piece. Overthinking again as always.

As she's floating along, she comes close to Finn's proximity and smiles. At least there's a familiar face. She notices him dozing, flicking her hand in the water, splashing it a bit in his direction. ]

[ Finn jolts at the water hitting him, but smiles when he sees Max. With a little laugh, he kicks water back at her direction. ] Didn't expect to see you out here. What you been up to?
