Enter the Master
[Each new arrival's iMog buzzes with a message instructing them to gather for a worldwide adventure to obtain the power of Vaikuntha. If they follow the invitation's instructions, they will arrive at outside of the airship hanger on the morning of the 15th, with their meager belongings packed.
An Enterprise-Class airship, the Ragnarok, hovers outside of the Curti Center. There is a flash of light on the top of the ship.]
"WELCOME!"
[A figure, minuscule at this distance, launches itself off of the ship and hurtles toward the ground. As he draws closer to the ground, he starts to flip, landing with a flourish. An armored figure, sans helm, turns his toothy Zora grin to the crowd. With a shimmer, his armor transforms into a white mage's robe, and he sends a rush of wind through the crowd for dramatic effect.]
"I AM GANESHAN, THE JOB MASTER! GYA HA HA HA! TODAY, YOUR LIVES WILL CHANGE FOREVER."
[Ganeshan shimmers again, ruthlessly abusing the Chemist's Modifier skill to once again shift Job Classes so he can lower the airship's loading dock with a wave of his hand.]
"I BELIEVE THAT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU HAS THE ABILITY TO MASTER THE JOB CLASSES. SOME OF YOU MAY MASTER MANY, OTHERS WILL PURSUE THE PERFECT MASTERY OF JUST ONE. BUT EITHER WAY, YOU'LL BE INCREDIBLE!"
[Ganeshan gives everyone a big thumbs-up. The out-worlders who are not scared off by this booming speech can feel free to enter the airship and prepare for their ride around the world. Hopefully some of the Curti Center's newest hires can serve asnon-crazy less exuberant tour guides for the new arrivals.]

Around the World
[The Ragnarok will be stopping at every major city in Vaikuntha, with the exception of those cut off by the Imperial border closing. Characters can create top levels to respond to the Guild prompts and explore the cities themselves as the ship makes its stops. Each Guild provides information sessions, free food and trinkets for potential applicants, and once you're ready to receive your Asterisk, all you have to do is take some introductory lessons and fill out forms. Characters can receive up to two asterisks. Time to get to know your new world!
Questions for Ganeshan can be directed to the Ganeshan top level post.]

"I think..."
She paused and looked back at those poor people throwing rocks.
"When you are surrounded by people who can do something you can't... When they all have access to something you know you'll never be able to achieve, no matter how hard you may want it..." She turned back to Roxas with a sad smile. "I think it must be incredibly lonely."
no subject
"Yeah... I can agree with that," he muttered, lifting a hand to rub the back of his neck. Just when he thought he might be over his inferiority complex, there it was biting him with renewed vigor. And then it hit him that this girl was speaking from experience, and he couldn't help but try to return her sad smile.
"You too, huh?" If only they both knew what common experiences they actually shared.
no subject
Monika hadn't suspected he would understand the situation so well. But upon hearing him and seeing his mannerisms, she realized he had likely gone through something that had made him feel a similar sentiment of isolation. Though she doubted it was anything close to what she had had to go through...
It was funny, in a way. From the perspective of these poor people, they were the gifted ones. They belonged to the majority who could freely making use of Jobs.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to evoke bad memories or feelings."
no subject
"No, it's okay," the nobody assured her. "Life is what it is, you know? You don't get anywhere by being in denial."
no subject
"Maybe that world is a second chance for us." She finally tried to give out a genuine smile. "I think we should make the best of it, anyway."
no subject
"Maybe..." Roxas, despite his positive thinking just a moment ago, didn't seem so sold on the idea that this place was all that great. He could move forward while still looking back now and then. "Yeah, keep moving until you hit a wall." And by the tone of his voice he was absolutely sure they would hit a wall at some point.
The boy shifted on his feet awkwardly. "I'm Roxas," he finally said, offering a hand politely, if a bit awkwardly, to the young lady.
no subject
Where was Sayori when you needed her. Not that Monika was bad on her own at being cheerful, but this was a topic that hit... Closer to home than she'd like. But there was no doubt in her mind, walls were meant to be smashed down into pieces if they got in the way of your dreams.
Thank god, Roxas had the good sense of taking this discussion elsewhere.
"I'm Monika, just Monika." She smiled and took his hand. "It's a pleasure meeting you, Roxas."
no subject
"Yeah, it's a pleasure to meet you too," the blond agreed, a small smile turning up the corners of his lips. "Maybe this place will be better to us than where we were from before. Hopefully." Right, optimism. Try to keep things positive, like Sora.
"So are you going to become a freelancer? Prove them all wrong?" Roxas asked with a charming smile, the expression becoming more natural now.
no subject
"I wish I could show that sort of restraint with all those Jobs that were presented to us." She smiled sweetly and shook her head. "But... I really like the idea of being special, in a good way. It wasn't possible back home, but if here it is possible... I think I'm too selfish to let go of that chance." She smiled embarrassingly. "Ahaha, that probably sounded incredibly vain..."
no subject
"It's just one," he shrugged. "I can still get another job, and I'll have that even if this one is as useless as people say." Which didn't mean he'd stop trying, just that he'd have something to fall back on.
"No, I don't think you're vain, it's just..." He paused, frowning as he debated his next words. "Sometimes being special backfires." That didn't make too much sense as a hanging thought, but Roxas wasn't certain how to explain his feeling in simple terms and his struggle was apparent on his face. "You deserve to be special if you want to be, though. Don't let anyone tell you what you can't do."
no subject
"Using Jobs is the norm in this world, and they can't do it, right? So in a sense, they're definitely special."
no subject
Somehow this just solidified his resolve, and after a moment the young man clenched his fists and gained a look of determination rather than defeated contemplation. "I just have to make this my own."
no subject
She shook her head. Make this his own...? She wasn't sure what he meant, but that was probably due to the pain he carried. She wouldn't pry. rather, she needed to try and get him back in high spirits. Even if she herself hardly fared any better.
"I think that's what we should do. We should do what we want and be happy. If we did that, it would not matter how we are judged." She paused and laughed. "Ahaha~ Well, I say that, but I'm not so good at following my own advises."
no subject
"Oh yeah? Do you worry about others a lot? I don't think I do..." He tapped a finger to his lips, looking thoughtfully up at the sky. "Well, maybe a few special people. But only them. It's okay to care about what the people you care about think about you, but the rest of the world doesn't matter."
no subject
Oh, she got depressing again, heh? She laughed.
"Gosh, I just can't help myself with these depressing thoughts, heh?" She shook her head. "I think we should go play some of the games in this city to chase away all these bad thoughts.
no subject
The young man perked up a bit at the mention of games. "I love games," he stated, a small smile starting to grow on his face. "What's your favorite game?"
no subject
Wouldn't that be a thing if she had said it unironically?
"Ahaha! That's just a joke. I'm not really into tacky romance games." She hopes for his sake that Roxas isn't into them either, that's a bit sad. "What about yours?"
