What: Ganeshan, the resident Job Expert, will be taking the new arrivals around the the various Guilds so they can collect their chosen Job Asterisks as noted in their applications.

Enter the Master

[Each new arrival's iMog buzzes with a message instructing them to gather for a worldwide adventure to obtain the power of Vaikuntha. If they follow the invitation's instructions, they will arrive at outside of the airship hanger on the morning of the 15th, with their meager belongings packed.

An Enterprise-Class airship, the Ragnarok, hovers outside of the Curti Center. There is a flash of light on the top of the ship.]

"WELCOME!"

[A figure, minuscule at this distance, launches itself off of the ship and hurtles toward the ground. As he draws closer to the ground, he starts to flip, landing with a flourish. An armored figure, sans helm, turns his toothy Zora grin to the crowd. With a shimmer, his armor transforms into a white mage's robe, and he sends a rush of wind through the crowd for dramatic effect.]

"I AM GANESHAN, THE JOB MASTER! GYA HA HA HA! TODAY, YOUR LIVES WILL CHANGE FOREVER."

[Ganeshan shimmers again, ruthlessly abusing the Chemist's Modifier skill to once again shift Job Classes so he can lower the airship's loading dock with a wave of his hand.]

"I BELIEVE THAT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU HAS THE ABILITY TO MASTER THE JOB CLASSES. SOME OF YOU MAY MASTER MANY, OTHERS WILL PURSUE THE PERFECT MASTERY OF JUST ONE. BUT EITHER WAY, YOU'LL BE INCREDIBLE!"

[Ganeshan gives everyone a big thumbs-up. The out-worlders who are not scared off by this booming speech can feel free to enter the airship and prepare for their ride around the world. Hopefully some of the Curti Center's newest hires can serve as non-crazy less exuberant tour guides for the new arrivals.]

Around the World

[The Ragnarok will be stopping at every major city in Vaikuntha, with the exception of those cut off by the Imperial border closing. Characters can create top levels to respond to the Guild prompts and explore the cities themselves as the ship makes its stops. Each Guild provides information sessions, free food and trinkets for potential applicants, and once you're ready to receive your Asterisk, all you have to do is take some introductory lessons and fill out forms. Characters can receive up to two asterisks. Time to get to know your new world!

[Oh, don't worry. He wouldn't be here if he wasn't still interested. Gotta carry on stabmom's legacy, after all. Especially if others are here and his paranoia about this all going pear-shaped ends up being true after all.]

I'm fine. [Or, as fine as he ever is. Considering said paranoia.] Kind of surprised to see a few familiar faces, the usual.

[He pauses, deciding to at least hint at said interest.] ...So'm I. Dad mentioned Bonnie's here.

[Dad. Reno assumed Ira meant Kenichi. The word had a nice ring to it that he wasn't expecting at the moment and it felt strange in his gut.]

[He tried to focus. Bonnie. Reno nodded.]

Yeah. We could really use you.

[Another awkward pause. Reno took a breath.] I could use you.

[That is indeed who he meant. After all, they... kind of adopted him. Back on Crystallis. Apparently Kenichi decided to honor Saori's decision on that when she returned home.

You okay, fam?]

... [Apparently not, considering he's asking him about his commitment to the Brotherhood. Ira rests his hands in his pockets for a moment, pretending to consider it.]

Of course you do. [Even if they didn't get along all that well in the past.]

This world may have taken my blade from me, [He smirks. Really, Reno. Was this even in question?] -but my skills will always belong with the shadows.

[Reno grinned, openly relieved. He probably shouldn't have doubted Ira. It was hard not to question everything in this place, but at least Ira was one more solid thing Reno could rely on here.]

Good.

I want you as my second.

[Reno had already decided it had to be Ira -- there was no question. No one else would do. Until or unless another Assassin arrived, they were all Vaikuntha had.]

[He really shouldn't have. Because it's Ira. The things from Crystallis were pretty much all he had to begin with, save the skills he'd picked up in the Tower. Much as he hated the other Reno, this one? ...Eh, he's decent enough he guesses. Considering he recognized Bonnie's name, it has to be the Reno he actually got to vaguely know.]

You know, considering how well we get along... I'm surprised you didn't choose the moogle.

[He smirks. Because of course he has to be a smart ass somehow.]

[Reno actually had to laugh. It was a far departure from how they'd met, and even from how this conversation had started.]

It was a hard choice t' make, yo. Yer really lacking in the cute an' fluffy department, it detracts a lot from the overall package.

[Considering how well they got along? That was exactly why Reno had made his choice. He hoped Ira would argue with him. It would keep him sharp and thoughtful, open to alternatives. He knew he needed someone as stubborn as he was himself.]

[Success.JPEG He chuckles himself, tucking some of his bangs behind an ear. Man, he needs a haircut.]

Also the qualities of a "yes man".

[Meaning: yes, he got why that was a choice Reno made. And yes, he'll be a hardass on things that need to be approached in potentially different ways than he wanted.]

Definitely none of that.

[It was good Ira was on the same page. Not that Reno had any doubts. He nodded decisively.]

We'll need to talk more. We need to figure a lotta shit out in a pretty short amount a' time. But... not here, obviously. When we get back.

[Reno wanted the privacy and freedom to speak freely. Specifics needed to be decided, sooner than later.]

[Look, his first full year of life was mostly spent in a helltower where he had to be quickwitted in order to survive. Some things just stay with you.]

Yeah. [He pauses, thinking.] The place they assigned me is pretty full as it is.

[And he doubts they'd get any privacy with Sora or Demyx around.]

[Reno grimaced automatically as he thought of his own living situation.]

Same.

I mean, the chick I live with is hella spacey, but that could go either way. The real problem is living with another Jade.

[Because a house could be totally empty, and it would still be unsafe because of Jade.]

We'll figure something out.

[Yet he doesn't sound surprised by it. Mostly because he already had the pleasure of running into him on the network.]

There's always the library, until we get a base of operations?

Mmhmm.

[Yeah, it sucked. Reno didn't even want to know what was in their basement right now, since Jade spent so much time there.]

Library sounds good. Quiet, unsuspecting. All sorts of ways to hide things.

[He'd learned to appreciate the place on Crystallis. It could hold a lot of value. And it was probably the best place to look for information on Vaikuntha, too, as loathe as Reno was to read. He could make a sacrifice for the greater good in this case.]

[Probably a good thing, considering how that tends to go with science types. Not that he knows from personal experience or anything, haha... ha...]

Exactly.

[He smirks faintly. He wasn't a big fan of reading himself, but... he's already planning on diving into research on Vaikunthian legends. thanks to that little ghost kid others mentioned on the linkshell.]

[Reno nodded, half to Ira and half to himself. Yes, this idea was growing on him more and more the more he thought about it.]

Alright. We can take advantage a' the tours to scout out possible places to set up shop. Once we get back to the Curti Center, I'll reach out about the library.
