Where: All over Vaikuntha, starting outside of the airship hanger
What: Ganeshan, the resident Job Expert, will be taking the new arrivals around the the various Guilds so they can collect their chosen Job Asterisks as noted in their applications.

Enter the Master

[Each new arrival's iMog buzzes with a message instructing them to gather for a worldwide adventure to obtain the power of Vaikuntha. If they follow the invitation's instructions, they will arrive at outside of the airship hanger on the morning of the 15th, with their meager belongings packed.

An Enterprise-Class airship, the Ragnarok, hovers outside of the Curti Center. There is a flash of light on the top of the ship.]

"WELCOME!"

[A figure, minuscule at this distance, launches itself off of the ship and hurtles toward the ground. As he draws closer to the ground, he starts to flip, landing with a flourish. An armored figure, sans helm, turns his toothy Zora grin to the crowd. With a shimmer, his armor transforms into a white mage's robe, and he sends a rush of wind through the crowd for dramatic effect.]

"I AM GANESHAN, THE JOB MASTER! GYA HA HA HA! TODAY, YOUR LIVES WILL CHANGE FOREVER."

[Ganeshan shimmers again, ruthlessly abusing the Chemist's Modifier skill to once again shift Job Classes so he can lower the airship's loading dock with a wave of his hand.]

"I BELIEVE THAT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU HAS THE ABILITY TO MASTER THE JOB CLASSES. SOME OF YOU MAY MASTER MANY, OTHERS WILL PURSUE THE PERFECT MASTERY OF JUST ONE. BUT EITHER WAY, YOU'LL BE INCREDIBLE!"

[Ganeshan gives everyone a big thumbs-up. The out-worlders who are not scared off by this booming speech can feel free to enter the airship and prepare for their ride around the world. Hopefully some of the Curti Center's newest hires can serve as non-crazy less exuberant tour guides for the new arrivals.]

Around the World

[The Ragnarok will be stopping at every major city in Vaikuntha, with the exception of those cut off by the Imperial border closing. Characters can create top levels to respond to the Guild prompts and explore the cities themselves as the ship makes its stops. Each Guild provides information sessions, free food and trinkets for potential applicants, and once you're ready to receive your Asterisk, all you have to do is take some introductory lessons and fill out forms. Characters can receive up to two asterisks. Time to get to know your new world!

I play sitar. Just like this instrument here. Mine's a little different though.

[It seems like a minor distinction but to Demyx they are very different instruments.]

[righthandstand]

Huh...

[He slides a finger over the sitar's board.]

What kinda music do you play?

Music I pick up from the different worlds I go to. [He smiles cheerfully.] A lot of classical pieces and my homeworld songs too. A bunch of different things.

Mostly I play whatever I'm feeling at the time.

[righthandstand]

[Classical and rock is what Okuyasu defaults to, but that other bit of information grabs his attention.]

Other worlds?! You're a space traveler, too?! How many are here?!

[He would be so into rock, except every world he goes to is filled with Disney music.]

Space? [He cocks his head, puzzled.]

I've never been to somewhere called that. Just different worlds. I don't know. I have two people I live with who have been to other worlds too! Roxas. [He smiles as though that explains everything.]`

[righthandstand]

Who?

[That name isn't familiar to him at all. Or it's not a name of a person? "Roxas" could be a saying from Demyx's planet, meaning "cool" or "got it" or something.]

I mean, space is up there? Past the atmosphere? How'd you not know about that?

I don't think we have that in The World That Never Was.

[He shrugs helplessly. In his world the sky was just the sky. He's from a distant time period anyway.]

It's just more darkness out there.

[righthandstand]

What kind of planet are you talkin' about? You gotta come from a place that exists, huh?

[Because if the world Never Was, then it Currently Is Not. So it's not real.]

[Exactly. Finally. Someone gets it!]

It does. Sort of? Sort of. It exists like I exist. All there but not there at the same time..I don't know how to explain it!

[righthandstand]

[He does not get it at all.]

But you exist, you're right here! No one can be real and not real at the same time. It ain't like...that cat thing.

[Schrodinger's cat. He read it somewhere in a scifi magazine he picked up in a convenience store.]

Uh, well kind of? I mean I'm not supposed to.

I had a Somebody and a heartless took his heart so...

[Is that making sense? He doesn't know.]

I'm like, I don't know, magic or something? I don't get it.

[He's not the scientist. Clearly.]

[Oh no, it's the idiots of the team attempting to figure out the metaphysics of their worlds.]

You had a boyfriend?

["Somebody" is a romantic way of referring to your lover in songs, right? And a magic user stole his soul?]

Huh? No!

[Demyx looks puzzled, how did he get that from what he said?]

It was me, but not me, not really but anyway, look the shadow took my heart and then I came out like this making me the Nobody to my person's Somebody.

[That should clear things up, it's a good explanation. Clear as mud.]

[righthandstand]

[This sounds like an enemy Stand at work.]

Look, I'm not too smart, so you're gonna have to explain to me in a better way! [He's frustrated by how little sense Demyx makes.] What the hell do you mean by "Somebody" and "Nobody"?

[He doesn't know how else to explain it because he's not that bright himself.]

Okay look, normal people are Somebodies. I'm a Nobody.

[Is that clear now?]

Want to see? I don't have a pulse. [He holds out his arm to him, see? It's not that complicated is it?]

[righthandstand]

[Does Demyx have low self-esteem? No, he doesn't seem the sort. why would an outgoing and tough guy have a poor image of himself? This doesn't explain anything.]

What the hell? Are you a zombie?

[He'll reach his hand out...but if Demyx tries to bite him he's getting the hell out of here.]

What? No!

[He chuckles and lets him have his wrist. He doesn't have a pulse, he's not cold, but he's just not quite human that's all. It's not that weird is it?]

I don't think so anyway, that's not what the science guys say. [Which is almost everyone but him.]

[righthandstand]

[Oh now that's just freaky. Okuasyu jerks his hand away once he realizes that Demyx has not had a pulse for five seconds straight.]

The fuck?!

[His new friend shouldn't swear, it's not very Disney of him.]
