What: Ganeshan, the resident Job Expert, will be taking the new arrivals around the the various Guilds so they can collect their chosen Job Asterisks as noted in their applications.

Enter the Master

[Each new arrival's iMog buzzes with a message instructing them to gather for a worldwide adventure to obtain the power of Vaikuntha. If they follow the invitation's instructions, they will arrive at outside of the airship hanger on the morning of the 15th, with their meager belongings packed.

An Enterprise-Class airship, the Ragnarok, hovers outside of the Curti Center. There is a flash of light on the top of the ship.]

"WELCOME!"

[A figure, minuscule at this distance, launches itself off of the ship and hurtles toward the ground. As he draws closer to the ground, he starts to flip, landing with a flourish. An armored figure, sans helm, turns his toothy Zora grin to the crowd. With a shimmer, his armor transforms into a white mage's robe, and he sends a rush of wind through the crowd for dramatic effect.]

"I AM GANESHAN, THE JOB MASTER! GYA HA HA HA! TODAY, YOUR LIVES WILL CHANGE FOREVER."

[Ganeshan shimmers again, ruthlessly abusing the Chemist's Modifier skill to once again shift Job Classes so he can lower the airship's loading dock with a wave of his hand.]

"I BELIEVE THAT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU HAS THE ABILITY TO MASTER THE JOB CLASSES. SOME OF YOU MAY MASTER MANY, OTHERS WILL PURSUE THE PERFECT MASTERY OF JUST ONE. BUT EITHER WAY, YOU'LL BE INCREDIBLE!"

[Ganeshan gives everyone a big thumbs-up. The out-worlders who are not scared off by this booming speech can feel free to enter the airship and prepare for their ride around the world. Hopefully some of the Curti Center's newest hires can serve as non-crazy less exuberant tour guides for the new arrivals.]

Around the World

[The Ragnarok will be stopping at every major city in Vaikuntha, with the exception of those cut off by the Imperial border closing. Characters can create top levels to respond to the Guild prompts and explore the cities themselves as the ship makes its stops. Each Guild provides information sessions, free food and trinkets for potential applicants, and once you're ready to receive your Asterisk, all you have to do is take some introductory lessons and fill out forms. Characters can receive up to two asterisks. Time to get to know your new world!

"Mm, I should..." The warning made perfect sense to Yue - he'd never reached that point before, himself, but he knew going crazy and killing people was definitely a thing that happened. How long would it take to reach that point? How long could he wait before he was forced to feed himself? Having to be responsible for feeding himself seemed like such a pain....

He grimaced at the mention of grave digging as well, deciding to gloss over that and focus on the flying topic instead. "I don't usually do much flying at night, so it's...probably not as good as my day flying?" A pause. "Did you fly a lot at night, when you had wings?"

Roxas' first kill had been in a blood craze, and he'd regretted it at the time. Looking back it hadn't been that awful, though. Still, he didn't want this harpy to attack the wrong person at the wrong time or place and get himself in trouble here.

"Only when I had to," he shrugged, glancing down at his hands and remembering the freedom of flight. "I was pretty much a day bird, but I hunted at night. I'd find someone walking alone and then..." With one hand, Roxas made a curved downward motion, then quickly back up. "Pick up and drop from up high. That usually killed them pretty quickly."

Yue nodded at that - it was definitely an effective hunting method, though it wasn't what he'd done himself. "When I did it I'd...drop down really fast, and aim for the neck. Usually I'd work with other people though..." or let them do all the hunting themselves, but that didn't seem like a very responsible thing to mention.

"...Um. We'd usually catch homeless people and criminals and things, I think." Usually. It was hard to avoid the occasional accident, after all, and you couldn't unkill someone already dead. He put a claw to his chin, thoughtful. "There's probably that kind of people around here too, right? People that wouldn't get noticed as much, if they disappeared..."

......Saying that, he couldn't help feeling sort of strange. Back before Ryslig, the whole idea had been to catch people you liked, and make the world forget them - but now here he was, looking for people the world already forgot.

"That's what we did too." At first. Then when he and Vanitas had started hunting together they would just take whoever was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and neither had felt particularly bad about it. The number of friendly humans in Ryslig was limited, in Roxas' experience, and while he didn't fault them their prejudices he didn't let it interfere with his survival either.

"I can help, if you want," Roxas offered finally. "I don't need to hunt for myself, I think, but if you need help I can find people for you and lure them away somewhere you can kill them." Since he wasn't exactly equipped to kill like he used to. Though, a knife would probably be a useful tool to have and use in situations like this. Somehow none of these thoughts seem abnormal anymore.

For a moment, Yue actually considered taking up that offer - it'd be helpful, for sure, he wasn't exactly a particularly experienced hunter....but after a moment he closed his mouth again, shaking his head.

"You're a human now though, right? I don't want you to get in trouble, or anything..." He managed a slight smile, more positive than he actually felt, one claw raising to wave off Roxas's offer. "I'll manage somehow! You don't have to worry about me." Even if he worried a little himself. Still, he knew how to do the deed, and it wasn't like he hadn't killed anyone himself, before...and if all else failed he could ask his housemate, right? Yeah.

The rejection perplexed Roxas just a bit, and he tilted his head slightly to the left looking almost disappointed. "If you're sure..." Somehow he still had a longing for belonging, and he remembered how much he'd enjoyed being around his fellow harpies, Shulk and Rin, whenever he could. He'd do anything for them, and he wanted to help Yue, but he couldn't force it.

"Well, if you change your mind..." He reached into a pocket and pulled out his iMog slate. "Should we exchange friend codes? Then you can contact me if you need anything."

The disappointment made him feel a little bad, to be honest - but for a human to help kill other humans...even if Roxas was alright with it, even if Yue was alright with it, he got the feeling most others...might not be quite as understanding. So he kept the smile on, kept up the positive attitude, hoping to keep his new friend out of trouble.

He perked up at the offer of friend codes though, reaching for the slate in his own little messenger bag. "Ah, sure! I'll call you if I need any help. Or we can chat about other things too, right?"
