What: Ganeshan, the resident Job Expert, will be taking the new arrivals around the the various Guilds so they can collect their chosen Job Asterisks as noted in their applications.

Enter the Master

[Each new arrival's iMog buzzes with a message instructing them to gather for a worldwide adventure to obtain the power of Vaikuntha. If they follow the invitation's instructions, they will arrive at outside of the airship hanger on the morning of the 15th, with their meager belongings packed.

An Enterprise-Class airship, the Ragnarok, hovers outside of the Curti Center. There is a flash of light on the top of the ship.]

"WELCOME!"

[A figure, minuscule at this distance, launches itself off of the ship and hurtles toward the ground. As he draws closer to the ground, he starts to flip, landing with a flourish. An armored figure, sans helm, turns his toothy Zora grin to the crowd. With a shimmer, his armor transforms into a white mage's robe, and he sends a rush of wind through the crowd for dramatic effect.]

"I AM GANESHAN, THE JOB MASTER! GYA HA HA HA! TODAY, YOUR LIVES WILL CHANGE FOREVER."

[Ganeshan shimmers again, ruthlessly abusing the Chemist's Modifier skill to once again shift Job Classes so he can lower the airship's loading dock with a wave of his hand.]

"I BELIEVE THAT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU HAS THE ABILITY TO MASTER THE JOB CLASSES. SOME OF YOU MAY MASTER MANY, OTHERS WILL PURSUE THE PERFECT MASTERY OF JUST ONE. BUT EITHER WAY, YOU'LL BE INCREDIBLE!"

[Ganeshan gives everyone a big thumbs-up. The out-worlders who are not scared off by this booming speech can feel free to enter the airship and prepare for their ride around the world. Hopefully some of the Curti Center's newest hires can serve as non-crazy less exuberant tour guides for the new arrivals.]

Around the World

[The Ragnarok will be stopping at every major city in Vaikuntha, with the exception of those cut off by the Imperial border closing. Characters can create top levels to respond to the Guild prompts and explore the cities themselves as the ship makes its stops. Each Guild provides information sessions, free food and trinkets for potential applicants, and once you're ready to receive your Asterisk, all you have to do is take some introductory lessons and fill out forms. Characters can receive up to two asterisks. Time to get to know your new world!

[Well, he wants to be here. She can only imagine that voice is calling out to him...]

[Until he grabs her arm.]

What?

[righthandstand]

No time, we gotta run!

[A lone Lalafell stands at the other end, illuminated by the bright sky behind them and obscuring their face. While they may be short, the salt threatening to spew out of their mouth drives it to chase them.

Okuyasu steps out in front in an effort to pull her along. He's a strong guy, but Naoto probably knows how to handle those.]

[pishirogane]

[She would've been fine heading off on her own way now, but nooo, how he's dragging her off... leading her off. This is just ridiculous, but she would keep an eye out for the earliest chance of their possible escape from the open area.]

[righthandstand]

[Okuyasu's plan is to speed through the streets and find the nearest spot he last saw the tour group. They're moved on from the main street, which has several groups of complainers, so he opts for a side street.]

I think they went this way!

[All that shouting is bound to attract attention...]

[pishirogane]

Keep your voice down. You want to get away from them, not attract attention.

[She might have to send him into a wall so he stops for a second.]

[righthandstand]

[Okuyasu grunts (loudly) in response. When the street appears sufficiently empty, he lets go to Naoto and slides behind a short staircase leading to the front door of an apartment. The multi-story buildings are old and would be beautiful to admire if their sanity wasn't on the line.]

Y'see anyone?

[pishirogane]

[This is still ridiculous... Hiding behind an apartment staircase, but she supposes her current companion requires taller places.]

... No, I don't.

[righthandstand]

Hm...

[There could be Lalafell hiding in the trash bins, waiting to leap out at passing people. It's safer here for now.]

Wait. Which way's to the Summoner Guild?

[pishirogane]

[Drawing out her iMog, Naoto goes to check the Map.]

... It's located in the opposite direction we just came.

[righthandstand]

[Okuyasu jerks around--yeah, that map looks right.]

Dammit. What's the best way back without runnin' into someone?

[pishirogane]

Hm... the 'festivities' unfortunately don't have one centralized location. However, should we avoid areas that are often highly populated, it'll make returning to our group easier.

[Tapping the map, she notes several locations.]

Cristo-san might have a few complaints of his own since joining me so he could also provide a distraction.

[Her moogle hadn't been saying much at this point, but she's sure he has a few things to say.]

If we can get to the next alleyway and take this route... it looks like it would be the best course.

[righthandstand]

[Okuyasu nods along. That sounds like a smart thing to do, good thing he ran into Naoto instead of another idiot.]

I see, so Cristo's gonna be the bait! [He taps his fist into the palm of his hand.]

Are we gonna run for it the moment he distracts them?

[pishirogane]

I'm not bait!

Well, in a way... but you're more a willing participant. I'm sure you had other things you wanted to be doing besides guiding a stranger from the Dream Width.

Perhaps... but it's been better than I anticipated.

Then take this as an opportunity to air your grievances with the others.

[Cristo blinks, but nods, willing to go along. Puffing himself up, he charges ahead of them.]

[righthandstand]

[Okuyasu runs after him, realizes that he should be sneakier, and falls back to walk with Naoto, hands in pockets.]

So, uh, thanks for helpin' me out there. I thought you were teamin' up on me with that potato.

["Lalafell", Okuyasu.]

[pishirogane]

[Cristo's doing his job alright... Maybe she should ask him what he was doing before his new assignment.]

Lalafell... and you're welcome. I'm not the type of person that likes speaking aloud about any issues.

[righthandstand]

Sounds pretty stupid. Why're you gonna let the entire world else know your secrets?

[Opening up about his own issues with one person is difficult enough.]

[pishirogane]

I don't think they're all secrets. Most of them seem to be personal gripes of day-to-day life.

[So nothing too in-depth.]

[righthandstand]

Still, why talk about them with people ya don't even know? If it were me, I'd complain about school with my friends, not some rando that's gonna tell me to quit whining and study.

[He's had enough of adults telling him to stop being such a delinquent. It will be a repetition of everything he already knows.]

[pishirogane]

That's how they celebrate. Again, they managed to avoid a battle by airing their grievances to the enemy... Anyway, once we leave this place, it shouldn't be an issue.

[righthandstand]

Sounds annoying.

[No wonder the enemy ran away.]

So are we runnin' straight down the road when it's clear?

Yes, though, running might draw attention.

[Still, if he wants to run...]
