Raise a Glass [OPEN]
Who: The XV Cast and You!
When: June 6th
Where: Curti Center, Jiminy's Juicery (bar)
What: After saving innocents from the Dream Width, some people just need a drink.
Warnings/Notes: Alcohol consumption, possible violence, whatever people do in bars.
Their first foray into the search and rescue business in the Dream Width had been intense, to say the least. Stressful, heartbreaking, exhausting, and enlightening were other words some might use to describe the experience. After a night of rest and a day to somewhat sort things and people out, the next evening brings about a mighty need to head to the local tavern. Some drink to forget, some drink to remember, some drink to relax. There are even representatives of the Bard's Guild providing live music. You can try to make a request, but chances are they don't know your foreign songs.
Maybe you were invited by one of the excitable young men from Lucis, or maybe you came on your own. There's enough room in the bar for quite a few people, so long as they're of age. Sit right at the bar, or pull up chairs around a table, the choice is yours.
[OoC: Make your own toplevel or tag around. Please put content warnings as necessary. Have fun!]

[Cor eyes the other man for a moment, noticing the new arm but not making any remarks about it. He then gestures to the seat across from him.]
Truce, for the evening?
no subject
...very well. 'Ravus'.
[Better no title than one he lost. He sits.]
I will not hinder your drinking. I know not what you saw up there, but imagine you need it as badly as I.
no subject
'Cor', then, as well.
[No need to stand on formalities, after all.]
And I'm not quite that thirsty yet. You, however...I'm surprised that you haven't gotten one or two yet.
no subject
[He shouldn't be surprised. The Lucians are always prattling on with one another, and news of the Oracle, beloved by all...Of course Cor would have heard from Noctis or his men.
He waves the bartender down for a drink.]
The night is still young. I'll have imbibed plenty before dawn.
no subject
[There's deep sympathy in Cor's voice. He may not have known Lunafreya personally, but it still hurts to know that the world lost yet another shining beacon of hope.
He waits for Ravus to receive his drink before he picks up his utensils again.]
no subject
It is all of our loss. Her light kept the darkness of our world at bay.
[It is possible, he now can admit to himself, that Noctis may be able to take up Lunafreya's burden and be the light for their world. But that will not serve to fill the hole her loss leaves within everyone who knew her.]
I had long hidden my allegiance to my sister, yet you do not question it. Did you know? [He does not know if Cor was from after Altissia and had heard of his defection, or if the man is just remarkably trusting of a
formerImperial Officer.]no subject
Not until my arrival here. Word of what happened in Altissia hadn't reached my location yet. Ignis and his Majesty--Noctis advised me of what had happened during the Trials.
no subject
Did you appear here around that time?
[Prompto and Noctis seem to have been pulled into the Rift from later on, but he did not, could not, ask either of them about the future. But there is one thing he still needs to know about the days after the Trials.]
no subject
Apparently so. I only arrived here from then and there yesterday.
[He pauses for a moment.]
I presume you're from immediately after those events?
no subject
[He sighs.]
So you have no word of how Tenebrae fares.
[He has always known the risk of defying the Empire- retaliation against his homeland. Cor knows that pain, and Ravus does not press any further.][He takes a long sip of wine.]
no subject
[Though now, Cor considers trying to make his way over there, as soon as they could find their way back to their home world. They screwed up in helping Tenebrae once; he doesn't feel like letting it happen again.]
...so what are your plans, once you've recovered?
no subject
...
[He thinks it over. His plans...]
I inherited a duty from my sister. The line of Fleuret will support the King of Lucis.
[The new king, not Regis. Ravus does have limits.]
Beyond that, I do not know. [He needs more that one bottle of wine before he starts tackling what he's going to do with his life.]
no subject
Not that he's going to trust Ravus fully with Regis' health and safety yet. They were enemies until recently... But at least he doesn't have to worry about Ravus stabbing anyone else in the back right now.]
I'm sure his Majesty will accept your support. But you should still consider the kind of path you wish to take for yourself at some point. It can't just be about one's duties for your line.
no subject
[And in the absence of that duty, Ravus has...nothing. There is a hollowness inside of him, and he cannot imagine finding anything that would fill it.]
What do you do when you're not acting as 'marshal'?
no subject
[...did Ravus had any friends? Was he allowed to just...have a life under the Empire's rule? Not like Cor needs another reason to hate the Empire, but...]
You mean, during my downtime? I spend time check in with those important to me. If they're fellow fighters, we'll spar on occasion.
[He twirls his fork for a moment.]
Hunting used to be part of my downtime, but now...well, can't exactly get much cash any other way.
no subject
[He...should probably be concerned, how little he has now. Maybe it will sink in later.]
I...wrote letters to my sister. When I had time. It wasn't often enough.
[He waves for the bartender to refill his glass.]
That sounds like training and labor. That's...efficient, if nothing else.
