Raise a Glass [OPEN]
Who: The XV Cast and You!
When: June 6th
Where: Curti Center, Jiminy's Juicery (bar)
What: After saving innocents from the Dream Width, some people just need a drink.
Warnings/Notes: Alcohol consumption, possible violence, whatever people do in bars.
Their first foray into the search and rescue business in the Dream Width had been intense, to say the least. Stressful, heartbreaking, exhausting, and enlightening were other words some might use to describe the experience. After a night of rest and a day to somewhat sort things and people out, the next evening brings about a mighty need to head to the local tavern. Some drink to forget, some drink to remember, some drink to relax. There are even representatives of the Bard's Guild providing live music. You can try to make a request, but chances are they don't know your foreign songs.
Maybe you were invited by one of the excitable young men from Lucis, or maybe you came on your own. There's enough room in the bar for quite a few people, so long as they're of age. Sit right at the bar, or pull up chairs around a table, the choice is yours.
[OoC: Make your own toplevel or tag around. Please put content warnings as necessary. Have fun!]

Had Clarus evoked her name with anything other than sincere reverence and regret for her loss, Ravus might have put his fist through the old man's face for daring speak it. But this, he does not know how to respond to.]
...it would seem news travels fast, even to the dead.
[For him, the loss is still fresh, barely two days old. But time means nothing here. He turns away from the elder Shield.]
She fulfilled her calling. [It feels important, in that moment, that the Lucian know it.]

Fate hasn't been kind to many of our kin. [A vague statement, but it was better that way. Ravus's mother and sister, Clarus and his wife, Regis, Aulea, and Noctis some day...]
Would you like a drink?

I am aware of that. [He will not abide pity from a Lucian, if that is what Clarus is attempting. His hands ball into fists.]
I came for a drink, but not with you. There may no longer be a war between us, Lucian, but do not assume that makes us friends.
[The grudge he holds against Regis and his Shield is more than can be righted with a few sympathetic words. That old hurt runs too deep.]

[Honestly for his part Clarus didn't blame Ravus for hating him. He'd been in Tenebrae, he'd tried to fight off the attackers, but in the end protecting his king and prince and securing their escape had been his priority. What happened to Sylva was a tragedy, but there was nothing he could have done to prevent it. Except...]
Allow me to buy you a drink and leave you with words that may give you peace, and you may depart from my company with your spoils immediately after.

[Ravus should refuse, on principle, but he is so astonished by the offer, intrigued by what justification Clarus thinks he can present, that he stays.]
Very well. Speak. What peace do you think you can grant me?

Your mother's killer has met his just end. I was told by a Glaive, Nyx Ulric, that he met a painful death in Insomnia. After, of course, taking my life and King Regis', if that brings you any solace. And the icing on the cake, he was serving the crown while serving the Empire as a double agent. So our foolishness was our downfall.
[His words have bitter edge. He's never understood Ravus' complete hatred for Lucis when all they'd ever done was attempt to be allies and friends to Tenebrae. The skirmish at Tenebrae had been nothing short of an ambush and a massacre, and there was only so much anyone could do in that situation. But the boy was blinded by his sorrow and rage, and it only festered over the years.]
You've found your justice all around.

I am aware of Glauca's fate. Had I not tried... [It had been supreme arrogance, trying to take the king's ring, but he did not owe Clarus the recounting of it. There is no telling now, what might have been different if he had not put himself out of commission that day with that foolish attempt.]
...he claimed the king's life, and got himself killed before I could see him punished for his part in my mother's murder. I mourn neither of their passing, but justice for Tenebrae remains incomplete until the rest of those responsible are given their due.
[He meets the waitress' eye and points to an empty table across the bar from Clarus as the destination for his proffered drink.]
