That time again...
Who: Red Savarin, you, and probably a significant chunk of Vaikuntha
When: Late May
Where: Cloud City, beside a conspicuous orange airship parked in the street, and later Curti Center
What: Two words: Petting Booth.
Warnings/Notes: Overly-vigorous petting may result in static discharge.
[Well, here we go again.
Being a sky pirate definitely sounded like the high life, but- once the altitude was taken out of the equation- he was right back to where he started: in the off season of his sport, with an airship that was starting to show its obsolescence as the world increasingly bared its fangs. Seriously, he needed at least a laser on that thing. Fortunately, Mocha had figured out an idea on how to get some extra dough in a hurry-- something neither his fans nor a good chunk of Vaikuntha would be able to pass up.
Unfortunately, just like before, it was a petting booth.
And that's how Red ended up once more at a cheap wooden stall- and, once again, looking none too thrilled to be there- set up at a corner of Cloud City (and later, Curtis Center), seated on a small stool with his Magitek-Empowered DAHAK Mk. III powered down behind him, yet with a big sign in its metallic grasp proudly proclaming in bold block letters:]
PETTING BOOTH
50 GIL
Ruffle the fur of the Dragons' very own Red Savarin!
[Think of your beloved airship, Red. Do it for the airship.]

[Then he can jump in the shower and spend an hour or two scrubbing away his embarrassment.]
Come to think of it, how do you pay the bills? I think I've only ever seen you at the Magitek Knights' guild.
no subject
[For the sake of his sanity, she hoped it wasn't more of the same. At the question, she just shrugged and smiled.]
Oh. I'm a pilot. An apprentice, as it happens.
[Because apparently piloting Green in what often turned into combat conditions didn't even count as previous experience. Amazing.]
no subject
But her talk of piloting immediately brings up a frustrated- if nonetheless sympathetic- sigh.]
Yeah. They just don't take your word for it, do they. It's a miracle I can even pilot the Asmodeus.
no subject
[Or that he managed to come up with what he needed, at the very least.]
Yea... Although, I suppose Green is a little different than the airships they have around here. She can pretty much pilot herself.
no subject
...Wait, that mean she needs a license too?
no subject
Um... no? I'd like to see someone try to convince her to go fill out the paperwork, though.
no subject
Ah, well. Lemme know if they're gonna ask for a reference or something. Mocha tells me you did a pretty good job with the Asmodeus.
no subject
I might take you up on that. And just between you and me, the Asmodeus is a lot nicer than the ones they're letting me fly. I'm a little jealous.
no subject
[He was beaming with pride at that point.]
no subject
[It still wasn't quite as nice as piloting Green, but she was heavily biased. And Green was still a paperweight at the moment.]
no subject
If I can get that laser on it, maybe I'll give you the wheel while I take a crack at gunning.
no subject
[It was tempting to make a joke there, but maybe now wouldn't be the best time to do so, all things considered.]
If you get that laser on it, you'll need someone else around. Unless you've somehow mastered being in two places at once.
no subject
You'll haf'ta really impress me, though. I don't entrust my precious airship to just anyone.
[Unless they'd been on a wild goose chase looking for Free Ice Cream Cone Day island for hours. And he was hungry.]
no subject
[And... now she was curious about how he was planning to wire everything up. But not curious enough to pass up this opportunity.]
In that case, challenge accepted. I'm looking forward to blowing your mind.
