That time again...
Who: Red Savarin, you, and probably a significant chunk of Vaikuntha
When: Late May
Where: Cloud City, beside a conspicuous orange airship parked in the street, and later Curti Center
What: Two words: Petting Booth.
Warnings/Notes: Overly-vigorous petting may result in static discharge.
[Well, here we go again.
Being a sky pirate definitely sounded like the high life, but- once the altitude was taken out of the equation- he was right back to where he started: in the off season of his sport, with an airship that was starting to show its obsolescence as the world increasingly bared its fangs. Seriously, he needed at least a laser on that thing. Fortunately, Mocha had figured out an idea on how to get some extra dough in a hurry-- something neither his fans nor a good chunk of Vaikuntha would be able to pass up.
Unfortunately, just like before, it was a petting booth.
And that's how Red ended up once more at a cheap wooden stall- and, once again, looking none too thrilled to be there- set up at a corner of Cloud City (and later, Curtis Center), seated on a small stool with his Magitek-Empowered DAHAK Mk. III powered down behind him, yet with a big sign in its metallic grasp proudly proclaming in bold block letters:]
PETTING BOOTH
50 GIL
Ruffle the fur of the Dragons' very own Red Savarin!
[Think of your beloved airship, Red. Do it for the airship.]

It gave him weird nostalgia about working at the Golden Phallus.
"When does Blitzball start again?" he asked. "Because the saving-the-world thing is pretty much guaranteed."

But, doggone it, Mocha was right that it'd be a good way to get some scratch. He hated when Mocha was right. About anything.
"It's the... uh... the coming... No, not saturday... or is it?"
After a few more seconds of fumbling rumination be broke off. "--I have it written down on my calendar. But it's soon. And I wanted to make sure I'd be prepared in case there was another... Ka'pandol incident in the works."

Reno shook his head. "Here." He reached into his jacket and handed Red a business card for Stiletto. "Look, I think yer onta' something, but there's ways to do it without torturin' yerself, yo. We can set up some easy meet an' greets, autographs, whatever, no problem. I'll take a thirty percent cut, but guaranteed no touching."

He took the card in hand, giving it a quick read. Stiletto host club, blah blah blah, special attention with lovely people in an intimiate--
"--What kinda place are you draggin' me into?!"
no subject
He shook his head. "Like I said -- there's no touching. Yer fans just get to meet you. If they wanna pony up the gil, you can give 'em more or less a' yer time. That's literally it. They pay to hang out with you for a bit."

Even if he was hardly convinced, Red did tuck the card in a pocket instead of simply throwing it to the winds. He'd just have to see if he was lucky enough to be able to afford that weapon module on first pass.
...Of course, there would always be room for more upgrades down the line, so...
"I'll think about it. Not the first time I've had an offer like this, anyway."
