Everyone knows the Heroes of Light by now. They took the world by storm over the last few days (over and over and over the last few days) and with the calamity averted and Bahamut fended off? They needed a vacation. One on a brand new day would be great; the past few became a little too predictable for anyone's taste. The solution? Celebrate a brand new day at a place they're sure to be welcomed and are least likely to be thrown out. A job well done is well and good as a hero's reward, but a person's got bills to pay and feet to get off of now and then, so the ultimate destination place was an obvious one: the Myste Aura hot springs.

The invitation's an open one and Dante's one of the first to arrive, primarily to get the cooking all set up. There's a lot of it to be done, but given the zora's amused smirk through it all, he's having a good time. It's as much for him as it is everyone else. He could only bring enough for cooking and serving, so no vacation gear here! Gotta bring your own or pick some up on the way over. Either way, it's a stress free time that everyone really needed. Oh...and the invitation insists that the heroes bring along their Calm Deity Masks for an unmentioned reason...


THE HOT SPRINGS

Without a doubt, the main attraction of this trip. The hot springs are world renowned for a reason! Take a dip into the waters and see for yourself. The bubbling warmth of the natural waters are more than enough to let weary heroes and travelers alike unwind and let their troubles melt away for a little while. Some people have actually fallen asleep while settled in these, so be careful to keep your head above water!

Waterside refreshments are also available, particularly beverages. Remember: no underage drinking!


FOOD STANDS

There is. A lot of food. Including the shawarma Dante promised! He's got a few volunteers willing to help keep things clean and organized, but a majority of it is self serve with various kinds of cuisine for all kinds of tastes! As thanks for all the shenanigans Bass puts up with, there's a separate food table for moogles and dishes incorporating kupo nuts. Appetizers, entrees, desserts, it's all here. Dante himself is manning the shawarma station and offering anyone who asks a good, hearty slice of cooked Ochu meat. Trust him, guys; it's so good, it doesn't even need a sauce.


LIVE ENTERTAINMENT

The nice thing about being this close to Myste Aura is that the Bard's Guild is nearby. Once word got around that the Heroes of Light were gonna take a vacation in their neck of the woods, a few enthusiastic volunteers were more than ready to perform as a show of thanks for all they've done. Enjoy the concert of songs, some classics, some composed in honor of the heroes themselves. Naturally, there's little to stop anyone who wants to hop on stage and perform themselves. Hell, the bards would be proud to perform alongside a hero of light! Just don't mind the spotlight you'd be under.


COLLECTIBLES

So remember the whole thing about bringing your Calm Deity Masks? Surprise! Everyone who approaches the table of bagged goodies wearing their masks receives one! Each bag has a collection of goodies inside, from toy crystals to even figurines of the heroes themselves! Were you lucky enough to get yourself or your friends? Nothing's stopping you from trading until you get the one(s) you want!

Along with each bag is a free t-shirt. They have several different sizes just in case and all of them bear a familiar logo as a reminder of the great deed the heroes accomplished.

We're all kicking back and relaxing, I'm not gonna tell you what to do. Have fun, go nuts and remember to clean up after yourself.

There's a familiar voice... and just the person he was hoping to find.

"Hey to you."

He managed a smile though somewhat nervous, and trying not to think about Plagg and Blanc watching. Well, they were both here... they probably shouldn't put this off.

"So... I was hoping we could talk. Is now okay?"

"Hi."

And... she'd already said that.

Fortunately, she was saved from what was probably going to be the next couple of minutes worth of flailing and fumbling through what she wanted to say when he spoke up again.

Instead, he was met with nervous laughter.

"Mmm... yea. We need to."

Meanwhile, Tikki was doing her level best not to dissolve into laughter.

Oh, well, she repeated herself. Good to know things hadn't changed that quickly.

Everything was still very much Marinette.

"Okay... okay uh..."

He looked around. Food stalls were not exactly private for this conversation. Hot springs? Uh probably not that either... Blanc knocked him on the head and Adrien, rubbing the spot, looked at the moogle only to following him pointing a paw outside. Oh, right... duh.

"... Let's go for a walk outside then?"

It would take nothing short of a small miracle to make her less Marinette.

She was able to breathe a little easier upon realizing that he seemed to be about as nervous as she was, though. That was a good sign, right?

Right?

Blanc's intervention made her giggle, but then she felt bad about it, so she attempted to turn it into a cough. It was... probably less successful than she was hoping it'd be.

But she perked right up again at the suggestion of a walk.

"Yea. I'd like that."

"Okay...! Okay... this way then."

He took a moment to look around, somewhat nervous that someone might attempt to eavesdrop on them, but saw no one really paying them any mind. All clear, he turned and walked, Blanc taking the lead to make sure no one was in the direction they were headed.

"... Where should we start on this anyway?"

"Okay!"

For the moment, she was content to let him take the lead. This was all happening so fast, and it was still a little hard to believe. But after everything else that had happened here, she couldn't just explain it away as a weird dream or something.

The question caught her off guard, though, because she honestly had no idea where to start.

"I guess we... start at the beginning?"

Walking quietly along, Adrien watched, making sure they were gradually moving out of earshot. Soon they were far enough and he could actually try to figure out the question or answer... at least, think about this.

"Yeah... Uh, the beginning like when we first started as heroes? Which beginning?"

She was quiet as they made their way off the beaten path. The questions weren't easy ones to answer, though, because she'd never even imagined something like this happening.

"I... don't know! Every time I tried to picture how we'd find out, it wasn't anything like this."

"I wasn't either! I wanted this to be a little more romantic instead of dramatic..."

He had this whole thing plotted in his mind. A nice meet-up/date, maybe under the moonlight with all his puns hitting home, and no akuma... maybe Hawkmoth or Mayura dealt with? Yes.

"... But now that I think about it, it probably would've been a mid-battle thing too. That's usually what happens in comics..."

"Yea..."

To be fair, she hadn't really pictured the big reveal being overly romantic, even if she had sort of started to feel something for her dorky partner. The way it had happened, though, left a lot to be desired.

But he was right. It probably would have happened in the middle of a battle somewhere.

"I guess I just figured it'd happen after we dealt with Hawkmoth."

Instead, they were both here while Hawkmoth was still in Paris.

"That'd be nice, but I dunno. With his recent akuma, we've already been cutting it close a few times."

It was really only a mater of time before her luck ran out for the two of them.

"... Well, he's not here so... there's that at least?"

"I suppose it doesn't matter much now."

As odd as it had been, she couldn't feel too terrible about it. And honestly, it was just nice to know.

"That's true."

Maybe it was a little ridiculous, but she'd been kind of keeping an eye out every time new people showed up, just in case.

"So... what now?"

"Just for now. I hope he doesn't show up..."

It would just spoil everything... though, maybe they'd know who Hawkmoth was then?

"... Can we go on dates now?"

"I've been keeping watch a little every time new people got here, and we've lucked out so far. But I'm pretty sure we could handle it if he did show up."

Maybe. Though, maybe they'd luck out and he'd never even show his face.

"I uh... Yes! If you want to?"

This wasn't a dream, right?

"We could. He wouldn't be able to use his Miraculous when he gets here. Maybe we could figure out why he wants ours."

Maybe they could just stop this fighting... Or maybe that was just a fool's dream.

"Of course I do! First time we faced Hawkmoth, I told myself I'd love the girl under that mask. And I was right."

"I can't even imagine why he wants them. Maybe he needs a new hobby."

Like golf. Or knitting. Or something!

But it'd probably be a little hard to figure out who he was or why he wanted their Miraculous when he wasn't here.

"O-okay!" She'd always sort of assumed that all of Chat's flirting was just... Chat being ridiculous. Apparently she'd been wrong?

"You're not... disappointed?"

"Right? Imagine him just transforming to akumatize someone and monologuing in a large room to himself..."

He shook his head because that's so ridiculous.

He tilted his head. "Why would I be disappointed? Without your compassion and determination, Ladybug wouldn't be Ladybug. Even the few clumsy moments."

Okay that... was probably the most ridiculous thing she'd ever heard. It actually made her laugh a little.

"You know, I wouldn't put it past him."

Then again, they didn't really know much about the man other than that he was desperate to steal their Miraculous and that he apparently had no problem exploiting people when they were emotionally vulnerable.

But none of that mattered in light of what Adrien was saying. Marinette just sort of... stared at him for a moment. "Ha... maybe you're right."

It seemed kind of silly now, but she'd been a little afraid he'd be disappointed if he ever found out who was actually behind the mask.

"Right?"

He chuckled at the amusing thought. Sure, his abilities were a bit terrifying, but whatever happened to 'if you wanna get something done right you do it yourself'? Or whatever it was...

Waiting for Marinette to say something, she seemed to accept his words... Though, now he faltered a bit.

"Uh, so... are you upset? I mean, most people have this expectation of Adrien and I'm completely not that as Chat Noir..."

For now, all they could really do was hope their luck continued to hold out and Hawkmoth never showed up. It'd been about a year already. What were the odds of him showing up now?

It was funny, though. As worried as she'd been about it before, she actually felt a lot better now that the truth was out in the open.

And it was her turn to tilt her head at him.

"I'm not upset! And I did have this idea of you in my head. But that was dumb, and the real you is so much better than the idea."

Odds might be low, but there's always a chance. If she was concerned, he would do better to keep an eye out.

He jumped at her exclamation, eyes widening.

"... It is? Even the puns?"

She was probably just over thinking and worrying about something that wasn't actually likely to happen. But it was better to be safe than sorry.

The question caught her by surprise for a moment, but then she remembered how she'd always acted like the puns were something painful to endure.

Ridiculous, really.

"Yes. Even the puns."

Well, she had the right idea.

There were a lot of ways they acted as their hero selves that could be better. However, that answer had him smiling.

"That's a relief. I'd make more normally, but... you know, image."

It was honestly a little exhausting, having to keep up a separate persona for when she was Ladybug, but she knew it was just part of the deal. Why she'd gotten it into her head in the first place that they needed to keep so many secrets, she couldn't really say for sure.

It seemed kind of pointless, now.

"You probably don't have to worry so much about that here."

"I know... I think it's a habit now."

He's not entirely proud to admit that, but it's just an honest fact. Trying to act differently at this point was probably not about to happen before they left this world - at least, not a dramatic difference.
