Who: The Heroes of Light

Everyone knows the Heroes of Light by now. They took the world by storm over the last few days (over and over and over the last few days) and with the calamity averted and Bahamut fended off? They needed a vacation. One on a brand new day would be great; the past few became a little too predictable for anyone's taste. The solution? Celebrate a brand new day at a place they're sure to be welcomed and are least likely to be thrown out. A job well done is well and good as a hero's reward, but a person's got bills to pay and feet to get off of now and then, so the ultimate destination place was an obvious one: the Myste Aura hot springs.

The invitation's an open one and Dante's one of the first to arrive, primarily to get the cooking all set up. There's a lot of it to be done, but given the zora's amused smirk through it all, he's having a good time. It's as much for him as it is everyone else. He could only bring enough for cooking and serving, so no vacation gear here! Gotta bring your own or pick some up on the way over. Either way, it's a stress free time that everyone really needed. Oh...and the invitation insists that the heroes bring along their Calm Deity Masks for an unmentioned reason...


THE HOT SPRINGS

Without a doubt, the main attraction of this trip. The hot springs are world renowned for a reason! Take a dip into the waters and see for yourself. The bubbling warmth of the natural waters are more than enough to let weary heroes and travelers alike unwind and let their troubles melt away for a little while. Some people have actually fallen asleep while settled in these, so be careful to keep your head above water!

Waterside refreshments are also available, particularly beverages. Remember: no underage drinking!


FOOD STANDS

There is. A lot of food. Including the shawarma Dante promised! He's got a few volunteers willing to help keep things clean and organized, but a majority of it is self serve with various kinds of cuisine for all kinds of tastes! As thanks for all the shenanigans Bass puts up with, there's a separate food table for moogles and dishes incorporating kupo nuts. Appetizers, entrees, desserts, it's all here. Dante himself is manning the shawarma station and offering anyone who asks a good, hearty slice of cooked Ochu meat. Trust him, guys; it's so good, it doesn't even need a sauce.


LIVE ENTERTAINMENT

The nice thing about being this close to Myste Aura is that the Bard's Guild is nearby. Once word got around that the Heroes of Light were gonna take a vacation in their neck of the woods, a few enthusiastic volunteers were more than ready to perform as a show of thanks for all they've done. Enjoy the concert of songs, some classics, some composed in honor of the heroes themselves. Naturally, there's little to stop anyone who wants to hop on stage and perform themselves. Hell, the bards would be proud to perform alongside a hero of light! Just don't mind the spotlight you'd be under.


COLLECTIBLES

So remember the whole thing about bringing your Calm Deity Masks? Surprise! Everyone who approaches the table of bagged goodies wearing their masks receives one! Each bag has a collection of goodies inside, from toy crystals to even figurines of the heroes themselves! Were you lucky enough to get yourself or your friends? Nothing's stopping you from trading until you get the one(s) you want!

Along with each bag is a free t-shirt. They have several different sizes just in case and all of them bear a familiar logo as a reminder of the great deed the heroes accomplished.

We're all kicking back and relaxing, I'm not gonna tell you what to do. Have fun, go nuts and remember to clean up after yourself.

Their yellow-tinged eyes travel down to the area Naomi was indicating, watching those fangs unfold with interest, and nodding in the process. "Hmm. Yes," they agreed, "I can see where that would be an issue."

Unfortunately, Rutile had no band-aid for anything of that variety. "I don't suppose that would be something that's easily controlled..." Though really, they had no experience at all with such a malady.

Fangs and mandibles folded back up, Naomi nodded. It's more than just 'an issue', but it's a summary.

"It can only remain completely closed for a few minutes. Defeats the chances of enjoying a soak, but I can still enjoy the steam."

"Well then," extending a hand, it seems Rutile as a little more of the compound to apply to themselves, if Naomi would be so kind as to pass it back to them.

"If you don't mind the company— I have heard that activities such as this can help one unwind." At least, for the organic life forms, they supposed. "Relaxing the muscles and releasing certain... endorphins? I believe."

Of course Naomi would hand it back; though, Rutile needed it. It made her wonder though why she would risk water if it was a hazard - then again, her world sounded like traversing the sea was often necessary.

"I don't mind. Settle yourself in."

With the resin back in hand, Rutile sets about covering the last bits of themselves— everything from the clavicle upwards, and down their arms last of all. Satisfied, they set the container aside and inch towards the steaming springs, not hesitating to dip their one long leg in first, followed by the other— and settling down onto one of the rocks below the surface with a gentle clink as they made contact.

The temperature, of course, had no effect on them, but they were willing to give the experience a try, at least.

"I suppose— this is one of those brief moments of repose we should all be grateful for, isn't it?"

Naomi doesn't say anything, but she does watch Rutile coat herself with the resin. While the gem settles into the water, Naomi will dip her front legs and allow them to spread some of the warm water on her other legs. At least she can do this much.

"Yes. I'm sure you noticed everyone was progressively becoming worn out from those loops."

"Mm," comes the agreement from Rutile. "There aren't many forms of life cut out for such a... strenuous passage of time over and over like that." With that, they close their eyes, giving this whole 'relaxing' thing a go for once.

"It's a rare occasion sometimes where everyone can band together in such a way as many of the inhabitants did. It was... nice to see."

"It was... though, our coordination could still use more work..."

They had performed well this time, but Ramaa was not their biggest threat here. Looking up towards the sky, Naomi knows there's still a matter of that Cloud lurking within Dream Width. It didn't take kindly to those who could debate with it on its flawed logic and just seemed to ham things up when the others yelled things she recalled watching in her younger years.

"We should also work on avoiding mental traps."

"That's true, you're right."

Relaxing had never been Rutile's strong point unfortunately, and their eyes were already open again, following Naomi's lead of looking up towards the vast Cloud that loomed overhead. Less menacing than a sunspot transporting Lunarians as they'd often see back home, but... slightly ominous all the same.

"Tell me, have you ventured up there yourself?"

Rutile didn't have to try around Naomi. Rarely did she relaxed herself these days. It was better to sleep with an eye open literally after the previous world.

"... I have. It was not a pleasant meeting."

Anything that came from the sky, in Rutile's experience, was seldom anything pleasant.

"If you're uncomfortable sharing I won't ask many more questions, but I admit that I am curious." There was a pause, as though to drive home the point that they were giving Naomi an out before continuing.

"What exactly did you encounter up there?"

"... No, I don't mind sharing. Though, what we encountered up there isn't much to describe."

Her two eyes coming down to look at Rutile, the other six resume gazing around the hot spring while idle. "It was what one individual called the Cloud of Darkness. As name suggests, they really have no form aside from their condensed cloud state... Though, there did appear to be some form shifting inside. Nonetheless, they were on the side of True Calamity and similarly did not respond well to contradiction."

A Cloud of Darkness. Somehow, that wasn't something impossible for Rutile to imagine, attributing it to something like what the sunspots looked like. Both entities, it seemed, brought nothing but bad news.

"On the side of the Calamity, hm." Looking away from Naomi for a moment, they pinched at their chin between a thumb and forefinger. "I don't imagine a foe like that being too pleased with what we accomplished these past six months, then."

"No, it wouldn't be. Don't be surprised if they finally involved themselves in the next confrontation."

And considering what they did the first time they met, Naomi wanted to have a small... word with them. And perhaps get some revenge for what it put the others through.
