[Open/mingle] Alexa Play The Completionist's Theme Song

Who: The Heroes of Light
When: Post-time loops
Where: Myste Aura, particularly the hot springs
What: Mingling! Celebrating both a job well done and 100% completion of the game
Warnings/Notes: Hot spring antics, hot wing antics, potentially washtubs

Everyone knows the Heroes of Light by now. They took the world by storm over the last few days (over and over and over the last few days) and with the calamity averted and Bahamut fended off? They needed a vacation. One on a brand new day would be great; the past few became a little too predictable for anyone's taste. The solution? Celebrate a brand new day at a place they're sure to be welcomed and are least likely to be thrown out. A job well done is well and good as a hero's reward, but a person's got bills to pay and feet to get off of now and then, so the ultimate destination place was an obvious one: the Myste Aura hot springs.

The invitation's an open one and Dante's one of the first to arrive, primarily to get the cooking all set up. There's a lot of it to be done, but given the zora's amused smirk through it all, he's having a good time. It's as much for him as it is everyone else. He could only bring enough for cooking and serving, so no vacation gear here! Gotta bring your own or pick some up on the way over. Either way, it's a stress free time that everyone really needed. Oh...and the invitation insists that the heroes bring along their Calm Deity Masks for an unmentioned reason...

THE HOT SPRINGS

Without a doubt, the main attraction of this trip. The hot springs are world renowned for a reason! Take a dip into the waters and see for yourself. The bubbling warmth of the natural waters are more than enough to let weary heroes and travelers alike unwind and let their troubles melt away for a little while. Some people have actually fallen asleep while settled in these, so be careful to keep your head above water!

Waterside refreshments are also available, particularly beverages. Remember: no underage drinking!

FOOD STANDS

There is. A lot of food. Including the shawarma Dante promised! He's got a few volunteers willing to help keep things clean and organized, but a majority of it is self serve with various kinds of cuisine for all kinds of tastes! As thanks for all the shenanigans Bass puts up with, there's a separate food table for moogles and dishes incorporating kupo nuts. Appetizers, entrees, desserts, it's all here. Dante himself is manning the shawarma station and offering anyone who asks a good, hearty slice of cooked Ochu meat. Trust him, guys; it's so good, it doesn't even need a sauce.

LIVE ENTERTAINMENT

The nice thing about being this close to Myste Aura is that the Bard's Guild is nearby. Once word got around that the Heroes of Light were gonna take a vacation in their neck of the woods, a few enthusiastic volunteers were more than ready to perform as a show of thanks for all they've done. Enjoy the concert of songs, some classics, some composed in honor of the heroes themselves. Naturally, there's little to stop anyone who wants to hop on stage and perform themselves. Hell, the bards would be proud to perform alongside a hero of light! Just don't mind the spotlight you'd be under.

COLLECTIBLES

So remember the whole thing about bringing your Calm Deity Masks? Surprise! Everyone who approaches the table of bagged goodies wearing their masks receives one! Each bag has a collection of goodies inside, from toy crystals to even figurines of the heroes themselves! Were you lucky enough to get yourself or your friends? Nothing's stopping you from trading until you get the one(s) you want!

Along with each bag is a free t-shirt. They have several different sizes just in case and all of them bear a familiar logo as a reminder of the great deed the heroes accomplished.

We're all kicking back and relaxing, I'm not gonna tell you what to do. Have fun, go nuts and remember to clean up after yourself.

Once she'd had a chance to relax a little and actually eat something, Pidge decided she was feeling marginally better. It was enough to wipe the scowl off her face, at least. Besides, as Bobble had helpfully pointed out at least six times, she'd just helped save the world. She should be celebrating right now.

As ridiculous as he could be at times, he had a point. There'd been parties before, after they'd saved this world or that. But those were different. Everyone else had been there for those. Here, she was completely on her own. It was just a little unnerving. But it wasn't all bad. There were people here she trusted well enough, and the kids she shared a house with were cool enough.

Pidge glanced up and blinked at Red. She'd been looking down before, and Bobble was currently fixated on taking pictures of literally everything that crossed his path, so she hadn't been expecting someone to be right there. Oops.

"Ah... Sure. Thanks." Soda wasn't going to help her lack of sleep, but it was a nice gesture and she didn't necessarily want to be rude. So she took it.

"So uh... that was something, yea?"

"Yeah. Heck of a win, too!"

The way he was talking, you'd think nobody's life was at stake and the whole affair with Ramaa was tied up in a pretty little bow. But why not be happy? After all, they lived, and they were all finally past the three day loop.

"But what was really somethin' was that fast one you pulled on Ramaa, snatchin' her contacts away like that. That takes guts!"

He took a seat next to her, his own bubbly, sugary drink in hand.

"Don't think I've seen you around the Magitek Knights' Guild before. What's your name?"

"I think I'm still trying to process."

He was certainly excited about it, and honestly it was a little infectious. But they'd all banded together and they'd pulled through. If that wasn't enough of a reason to be excited, she didn't know what was.

"Would you believe me if I told you I'm not even sure how I managed to pull that off? I just kinda went for it and... well, you saw!" The same could be said for a lot of what she did, actually. For someone who liked to over think things, she certainly made a lot of impulsive decisions. This one had paid off, though.

"I haven't really spent much time there. At least not lately." She'd spent a lot of time with the other Paladins while they were still around, and she'd picked up Magitek Knight in part because she thought it was cool, but also because Hunk had it. Maybe it wasn't the best reason, but it didn't matter much now.

"I feel like I've seen you around somewhere before. Ah, I'm Pidge."

"Nothin' wrong with thinkin' on your feet. I do the same thing. And whatever we did out there, it worked, didn't it?"

It was hard to tell how much of his excitement stemmed from the atmosphere of the hot springs party, the relief of their survival, or the implication of his own heroic deeds.

"I'm Red. And if you're a fan of Blitzball, you probably saw me in a game sometime. That or doin' some work with the other Magitek knights."

At least he hoped that was where she saw him. Because if it was something like the petting booth or that time he threw up during the Golsaucian Gauntlet.

"It's worked out well enough for me so far. And yea... That's a good way to look at it."

Because she certainly had no idea how they'd all managed to win so easily. But she wasn't going to complain when it was finally over.

"I'm not sure I can call myself a fan, considering I've only seen one game. But that might be it. Maybe now that the world isn't ending I'll think about actually hanging around the Magitek Knights' guild a bit more." If nothing else, it would give her something else to do in her free time.

"Why not? Been thinkin' of gathering all the best mecha riders I could find into one A-team. Maybe I'll be bringin' you into it soon enough."

He gave a laugh. Apparently, nobody had told him.

Still, he was apparently the only one laughing. Considering the mood that surrounded her- considering the entire purpose of this party inasmuch as it celebrated their survival- Pidge nonetheless seemed a bit... pensive.

"What's got you lookin' so down? Like you said, the world isn't ending. We did great out there."

"Are there a lot of mecha riders around?" Pidge actually felt a bit guilty that she even had to ask that question. And of course, now she was wondering how Green would feel about being called a mecha.

She might not have been laughing, but she'd managed a smile. That was a start, right?

The soda certainly helped a bit, or it would once she'd had some. So she made a show of slowly opening it and taking a drink while she considered the question. It wasn't a terribly difficult one, but she wasn't sure how honest she wanted to be right now.

"This is probably going to sound pretty ridiculous, but... I guess I kind of always figured that if I was going to be dragged into another battle for the sake of the world, my friends would be here too." But they were gone, and she was here... with the Lions, as far as she knew. What did that mean for them?

"Actually, you might've known one of them while he was here. Hunk was a Magitek Knight, so..."

And he probably knew everybody.

"Not nearly enough of us. So I was hopin' I could maybe..."

His words trailed off into a blur as the crux of Pidge's listlessness came into focus. And it gave him pause; after all, not everyone who'd helped him come this far were here for the revelry. The sort of people he'd hoped would have come back by now.

The sort of people he'd hoped would come back at all.

"...Yeah, that's... easy to understand." He went back to his bottle for a drink--

--and nearly choked when she mentioned Hunk.

"You're one of the Voltron pilots?!"

"You were hoping to get them all together."

Come to think of it, she didn't really know of any others aside from Hunk- and now, Red. Maybe she'd just been a little bad about trying to figure out who else was involved. Oops.

There'd be plenty of time for that in the future, though, now that they had one.

"Yea... and this is the kind of stuff we were doing back home. So it's just weird that they're all gone and I'm still here."

Honestly, she wasn't even sure what that meant for them. Especially if four of the five Lions were still just sitting in Arito. Of course, she was just assuming they were because they seemed pretty indestructible.

She took a drink of her soda and shrugged... and startled at his little outburst.

"Yep. Though... we can't really form Voltron because Blue isn't here. And uh... Green is kind of a paperweight." Not to mention the other three... ahah.

"That doesn't matter-- you guys are heroes!"

Here he was talking to her like he was hot stuff-- from what he'd heard from Hunk and Shiro, this was the rookie talking to the professional! How many worlds had she saved?!

"I'm kinda surprised I haven't seen you in some kinda Magitech mech...! Somethin' green, with a lion face on it, or..."

Even after everything they'd accomplished as a group, it was still just a little surprising to hear someone insisting that they were heroes.

"You're a hero too, don't forget."

It was actually a little funny. Here she was feeling bummed about not having the other Paladins around for this when she'd just helped... literally everyone else here save the world. How was that so different than what they were doing before?

"I'm a little surprised by that, myself." Except for the fact that she'd been distracted by her friends disappearing, and probably also that she hadn't technically figured out how to make that happen yet.

"Not sure how she'd feel about me putting her face on something else, though..." Amused, maybe?

--shoot, she was right. Now was no time to get starstruck; he was, after all, one of the top contenders against Ramaa. He definitely thought so, anyway.

Alrighty! Game face on.

"Yeah, I--"

And game face lost.

"...That's a she?"

Either way, it was a relief to think that they were done for a while.

She smiled and took another drink of her soda.

And then nearly spit that soda when she noticed his expression.

"I mean. I've always assumed so." There was never any particular reason for it, but maybe it was just easier to assume.

"So how much did Hunk tell you?" Knowing Hunk, it was probably quite a bit.

Red raised a finger, mouth opening, ready to speak a few words about assuming that sort of thing--

...but he was cut off from within his own head by a few nagging voices he knew from back home. Yeah, he didn't really have room to talk on that subject. At all.

"That you were all robot pilots, and big-shot heroes in your world... that you saved space princesses and went from planet to planet."

And that they even had their own pajamas as merchandise. Well, he need not be so envious of that now, all things considered.

Pidge was honestly expecting some type of rebuttal. So when none came, she was almost a little disappointed.

But it wasn't a huge surprise to hear that Hunk had said so much. In fact, she would've expected him to say more. He'd never been able to keep a secret for long.

"You got the abridged version. Which... is pretty much the gist of it. I'm kinda surprised he didn't tell you more, honestly." Obviously, there was more to it than just that, but the basics were there.

"What about you?"

"What'cha see is what'cha get. Unless you're askin' about what I was like back before I came here. I was a pretty big hero myself, actually."

...Perhaps not a famous hero- he never had his face on a set of pajamas or anything- but saving the world was enough to make you a 'big hero' as far as he was concerned.

"Would'ja believe this is the second time I've helped prevent the end of the world?"

"Fair enough. And that was actually what I was asking."

Because as much as she tended to keep things to herself a lot of the time, she could also be pretty nosy at times.

Pidge was largely unaware of the existence of the assorted merchandise featuring herself and her friends, though.

"I can believe that. What was the first time like? Uh, if you don't mind my asking."

"Ah..."

How to phrase this... somehow, the subject of human extinction never stopped feeling like a touchy topic when he was talking to a human. No less so after everyone stared down the barrel of something far worse.

"...Big ball in the sky that threatened to destroy us all?"

No, there was more to it than that. He owed a fellow hero a full answer.

"It was a weird kinda failsafe for the world to make sure that we weren't gonna mess it up like the ones that came before us. It woke up too early and wasn't impressed, so it was tryin' to start all over again."

She wasn't actually expecting an answer, so it was a little surprising when he gave one. Admittedly, it was kind of a vague one, but that was just about the level of sharing she was prone to, so she couldn't blame him.

"Ah."

But then he went on, and Pidge sort of gawked at him, because that was kind of a lot. "Oh wow. That sounds really intense." Hello, understatement. "Did it go back to sleep afterward?"

"Somethin' like that. Whatever it does. Point is, I managed to convince it to give us another chance.

...Y'know. Knocked some sense into it."

That one's worth a cocksure laugh. He took another sip.

"So, c'mon. Let's hear your biggest story. Don'cha think you've earned a brag by now?"

"How very heroic of you."

She was actually pretty curious about whether or not it went back to sleep, among other things, but maybe asking about those things wouldn't be the best idea.

So she settled for having more of her soda.

"I dunno about that." Talking herself up was never one of her favorite things to do. And sure, she'd seen and done a lot, but it always felt a little weird to brag about herself.

"Would you believe that cutting my hair and borrowing an old shirt of my brother's was enough to fool an entire Garrison into thinking I was someone else?"

That actually got a nearly-cackling laugh out of him.

"Pfffffhahaha...! Some people can be fooled by anything! Haaaah..."

...How strange that said laugh awkwardly trailed off like that, and how his look turned sheepish as he went in for another sip of his drink.

"But is that really your biggest story? I'd've thought that it'd be something like... saving a planet from crashing into a sun, or slaying a space dragon, or somethin' like that."

It was probably the laughter (more than the sentiment) that drew a chuckle out of her, but it was pretty amusing. "People only see what they want to see."

Then again, her approach post-makeover had been a little less 'storm in and demand answers' and a little more 'let's snoop around and see what we can see~'.

"Not even close. But it's the most amusing, probably." Honestly, she was still shaking her head about it after all this time.

"No space dragons, but let's see... There's the time we ended up in an alternate dimension. Or the time I ended up stranded in a junk nebula for a while... or the time we all went into the quintessence field..." Which, admittedly, was not a fun story.

Hey, at least she seemed to be in a better mood now, herself. She was right, too; even if it wasn't the most grandiose of feats, it was a heck of a story.

Some of those other feats, though... apparently, Hunk's stories didn't scratch the surface of what their team had actually done.

"Wait. Did you say an alternate dimension? This isn't even your first time in this kinda situation?

...hope it was easier than this one."
