Serge nods, sighing. "Hey, I get it. The whole loops thing has been rough on all of us, and you've given more than most. I don't think anybody'd think less of you if you needed to sit this one out, you've already done more than your fair share."
He offers one hand, smiling. "Don't worry about it. We got this. We're the Heroes of Light, no matter what anyone says. You and the other offworlders- you guys saved us. You saved everyone. So don't feel down if you're not at your best, okay?"

"Hm-"

Serge could speak for himself and others, but as far as Sephiroth is concerned, looping the last few days before an apocalypse shouldn't have been as jarring as it inevitably became -especially when he was working on unraveling any information that might be gathered from a certain mysterious man. Prior to the Dream Width ensnaring him in one of them, he'd been a willful spirit in a sea of a multitude of memories. It wasn't rough, in and of itself.

However, invoking the more advanced skills in Calamity Knight, through use of the black crystal, had demanded far more in terms of concerted willpower than Sephiroth had been required to call upon thus far in his existence on Vaikuntha. There hadn't been room for any doubt at the time, he's the only one who had the inkling of how the vaccine could be spread, so globally in such a short time. Even when visualizing and comparing it to spreading his legacy through the stigma on his own Planet, the result here had been highly challenging, yet instantaneous by comparison.

"It's not over yet."

"You're absolutely right." Serge retracts the hand, unbothered. Not big on touching? No problem. "We still gotta beat up a dragon. But this time, I know we can win. We're not on different pages anymore, we've got the whole world singing along to one song... There's no way we can lose now."
He at least gets the sense that Sephiroth wants to be left alone, so he just offers another smile and a thumbs-up. "I mean it, though. If you need to recharge your batteries, do so. You helped a bunch already."

Serge's particular brand of protagonist pep-talk might have earned him a sharp retort usually - or at the very least an eye-roll at Sephiroth's current level of thinned patience. But it seemed that even the energy that would have fueled such a response was running on empty. Nor could the silver-haired man really argue with the fact that indeed there might well be an actual tomorrow this time.

Sephiroth offers the slightest tip of his bangs towards Serge, a silent agreement.

"Til the battlefield then, where we will see this through."
