It Ain't Ogikubo But It's Something

Who: Closed to Connie and Kanji
When: Day After Second Retrieval
Where: Curti Center Gardens
What: Connie's finally made the time to meet up with Kanji again... but something's troubling her.
Warnings/Notes: Guilt, mentions of Futaba's worse moments

The garden, as always, is beautiful when Kanji arrives. The flowers are in full bloom, letting out a calming fragrance, and the light of the slowly setting sun filters through the leaves of the trees. Connie's there, just as she promised. But... something's wrong. There are heavy bags under her red-tinged eyes, and she listlessly picking at her ramen--a far cry from her enthusiastic attitude the last time they met.

He wasn't a "planning" kind of guy. He could be doing what his friends would do, cook up a plan in case the Dream Width memories were just the thing now and arrange rescue parties who knew how to wake the dreamer up quickly and efficiently, but he instead wondered if his gut was enough. Seemed to work so far.

But right now he needed a bite, and he was meeting up with somebody. What he hadn't expected after grabbing one of the pre-made lunchboxes, however, was a very outward 'something is up' Maheswaran. Or, he thought. Maybe it's allergies.

Yeah. Right.

"Yo," he greeted, helping himself to a seat. The separation of chopsticks was absentminded as he gave Suzette a look. The moogle, raising a paw and prepared to speak, puffed her cheeks at him before setting off to go busy herself. Mog commentary wasn't gonna be needed.

"Haven't tried the ramen here. Any good?"
