Marinette couldn't even remember the last time she'd been at such a loss for words around Adrien. The only difference was this time she honestly had no idea what to say. Dealing with Papillon had been a nightmare at times, but it had never been this bad.

"I always figured we'd eventually figure out a way to go home." She'd imagined at least half a dozen different scenarios for saying goodbye to this world. Not surprisingly, this had never been one of them.

"This is usually the part where I'd tell you not to give up hope, but I feel like it's a little late for that..."

It wasn't like she could just transform into Ladybug and go off to fight Bahamut. And even if she could, there was no telling how effective she'd be.
