What: The hunt for Alexander's Temple takes an unexpected turn into college cramming territory.
Warnings/Notes: The combat threads will go up as soon as the introduction as finished, as that should wrap up fairly quickly.

Vimes took the opportunity to interpose himself between the creature and the others. It might not have been a terribly intimidating gesture, a middle-aged man in banged-up armor armed with only a truncheon- but he wasn't about to let that get in the way. He's ready to lay down some Vengeance if he has to.

"Tyzias. How delicate d'you think this page is?"

Tyzias settles into [Moonsetter Scales Stance] and activates [Sunslammer Gavel Technique], unsheathing her swords. "Lemme check," she mutters, leaping at the monster, Redglare's Blades already weaving an inescapable web of steel to trap Page 32 in a Deduction Cutter. The tip of one of her blades pierces straight through the monster's abdomen, and Tyzias twists it as she rips it out in a critical hit, pushing forward into another Deduction Cutter combo, which in turn scores two more criticals... but the monster seems almost completely unscathed, and even dodges a few of the hits.

In retaliation, Page 32 disappears in a gust of wind, only to charge Tyzias from several rows away with a Gust Slash, claws propelled by its personal storm. The assault catches her by surprise, and she grunts in pain, barely managing to roll onto her feet once the monster's talons rip into her abdomen. Thankfully, the adloquium absorbs some of the damage, but it still looks like Tyzias took a heavy hit. "Looks like it's pretty fuckin' tough, Sarge," she growls.

"Careful!" With the enemy having shown its strong hide and quick reflexes, Minimus steps forth with a Righteous Strike. He stabs at the page with his spear, following up with a shield attack and inflicting medium light-based damage. If this were cursed into this violent form, he hoped this...magic...would do it some good.

"Keep at it from all angles!"

Megatron is quick to follow up the Adloquium by summoning an [Eos] which immediately settles on Tyzias as the first target for her healing spell; it's not much, but it takes away some of the hurt.

Now, with Eos to take at least some of the pressure off, maybe his next turn he can get off an Advanced Libra and find out a bit more of what they're up against.

Now seemed as good a time as any; Sephiroth opens his own attack with a Flurry-Bushido combo from his Swordmaster skill set. If anything the reduced defense that should be applied might just be the extra needed for them to really get to start damaging it.

Not so sure about that extra weak wind-damage though-

Right. Vimes adjusted the grip on his truncheon, and charged, attempting to drive the creature back and keep its attention on him. This was aided by the addition of a leaping [Fell Cleave], right for the floating creature's gut. If he could knock it out of the air, even better.

"Thanks," Tyzias grunts at Megatron as the fairy seals some of her wounds. Tyzias doubted that she'd be able to take many more hits like that, at least not without some extra cushioning. She leaps at the monster with renewed vigor, attacking with a [Blood Divider] medium physical combo that scores a critical hit and renews Tyzias's vigor, healing her for half the damage dealt. Tyzias pressures her advantage with another [Deduction Cutter], but doesn't push her luck, skipping back before the monster can retaliate.

The combination of heavy blows from the party begins to break down the Page's defenses. Growling, it conjures a glowing green tornado and sends the Aeroga at Vimes, dealing strong wind damage if it connects.

"Excuse me," Minimus calmly steps around the others to hit the Page with his shield, stunning it to attack it once again with the spear with Champions of the Just, a light-element attack.

Sephiroth also keeps up the attack, following Minimus with a standard chain of melee attacks with his short-katana. The growl could have meant anything, but given the stronger attack in response the last turn it did seem they might be winning.

Magic was one of those things that Vimes didn't quite have much preparation for. He went arse over teakettle, wind bashing him into bookshelves, and he knew he'd hate himself come morning- but he rolled with the blow, pushing himself back onto his feet and charging forward again with a wordless bellow, aiming to throw all his weight into the beast's waist. Hit 'em right in the center of gravity with a [Smite of Rage].
