Corrin allows Tyzias to hold onto her, wrapping her own arms around Tyzias in turn. "It's okay, it's okay, I've got you." She says. "You're safe. I promise you."

She looks distinctly unconvinced at the PuPu's assertion, but holds her tongue, and let's the scene play out. She keeps holding onto Tyzias the whole time, not letting go until she does.

The younger Tyzias reaches a decision.

She runs away.

She keeps running, even when the burgundy pleads with her to stay.

She keeps running, even when the shot rings out, and a pained cry echoes through the night.

She keeps running all the way to her hive, where she collapses into the side of some massive white bear creature, sobbing.

Her eyes are hollow as she watches the newscaster proclaim a raid on a rebel base a success.

The memory fades, and Tyzias collapses to her knees, shaking. Her gaze is glassy, empty.

Corrin lowers herself to the ground as Tyzias sinks down, her arms still wrapped around the other girl. This was...horrifying. She thought Nohr had been bad under Garon, but what she had just seen...no wonder Tyzias was in shock. So she doesn't let go.

"Tyzias, this wasn't your fault." She says softly. "There wasn't anything you could have done to save them." She knows that's a very cold comfort, but that doesn't make it any less true. "I know how much it hurt...believe me, I know. You couldn't have stopped it, but it's still such a weight crushing down on you." Corrin knows because it happened to her, all to often, when she tried to save lives from the madness of the war, and it almost crushed her too. "But you refused to let it, didn't you? You grieved, and then you picked yourself up and tried to make sure it wouldn't ever happen again. You and your friends. You knew the danger and you kept going anyway because it was the right thing to do."

"Because you're stronger than you know, Tyzias."

"Like fuck I couldn't have saved her," Tyzias snaps, but she doesn't break away from Corrin's grip. She's crying openly now, teal tears streaming down her face. "That legislacerator wwwwas barely a fuckin' swwwweep older than mmmme! Fuck, I even took a fuckin' active hunting course frommmm himmmm perigees later! I had every fuckin' opportunity to actually mmmmake a fuckin' stand against the bullshit I dealt wwwwith every hour of every night and I didn't! I ran awwwway like a cowwwward, and I kept fuckin' running for the rest of mmmmy life because I didn't have the fuckin' guts to actually fight for wwwwhat's right! All I did wwwwas study and study and study a bunch of ultimmmmately mmmmeaningless bullshit because it helped mmmme sleep at night!" By the end, her voice is hoarse, and she's quivering with self-loathing.

Corrin listens as Tyzias rages, and feels her shaking in her arms. She had no idea the girl was carrying all this, or that she hated herself for her non-action so much. She decides another course of action is needed.

"Then fight, Tyzias." She says finally. "Do in this life what you couldn't do in your first one. Fight injustice. Protect the innocent. Be the Hero of Light I know you can be. If you were back in that position-actually back there and not just watching this memory-would you do the same thing again? Because I don't think you would."

"You are strong, so prove it to the one person it needs being proved to; prove it to yourself."

Tyzias doesn't respond. She just clutches Corrin tight. But... there's some part of her, somewhere, that hears her friend. A part of her that takes the princess's words to heart.

A part of Tyzias that, despite everything, resolves to fight.
