Frankenmog (Closed)
Who: Chara and Papyrus
When: A little before the spirit forest
Where: Kiddilion
What: A child and a skeleton journey through the underground to help a patchwork moogle find his inner mooglity.
Warnings/Notes: Hijinks, Probably!
They had ended up going underground just last month, but Chara had to admit that this was much more like home. The tunnels that led into and out of parts of the city of Kiddilion was much more familiar to Chara and, in part, more comfortable. There were parts that were certainly more rough and tumble than the Underground, but it still put Chara at ease to be in caves and caverns again. It was what was familiar.
Chara had jumped at the chance to help with the apparently mysterious and ghost-like moogles that had begun to show up. Chara quite LIKED the moogles in general, and was pleased to help them. That Papyrus had agreed to go with them too was good luck. Chara had gotten to hang out with Frisk quite a bit, but they hadn't really gotten to be with Papyrus that much. It'd be nice to get to bond with the skeleton. Even though they hadn't met Papyrus in their own world - at least, they didn't think they had - there was still something calming about the skeleton. Like they had known them before, as odd as that was to say.
Here they were, in some of the deeper tunnels, everything quiet except for themselves and the occasional burst of what sounded like crying. The crying was kind of. Well. Disarming, in a way.
"I'm not sure what there is to be frightened of," Chara confided in Papyrus as they walked, torch extended to light their way. "I'm pretty sure anything that can cry like that can't be that bad."

"I AGREE. THE GHOSTS I'VE ENCOUNTERED SO FAR HAVE ALL BEEN POOR, UNFORTUNATE SOULS. THEY JUST NEEDED A HAND! OR A FEW SWEET DANCE MOVES."
So he glanced about, trying to spot the source of the cries. Surely they weren't too far...

They are most certainly getting closer. The crying gets louder as they approach, booming almost. It certainly isn't the sound a traditional moogle would make, with how small they are.
It becomes obvious quite soon when the length of the creature's shadow starts to be visible in the torchlight, patchworked back barely visible to the two explorers. The moogle is massive, far bigger than any normal moogle, perhaps about as big as Papyrus. It's shoulders heave as it continues to cry, not yet aware of the torchlight and the intruders.
Chara takes a breath. Alright, they might understand why this one would seem intimidating. "Do you think we should say something first?" Chara asks.

That certainly is some ominous crying. Far from the happy sort. And oh, patchwork. Tears. It's so big and so unhappy.
Papyrus nods to Chara and then proceeds to speak up, "AH, HELLO THERE! WHAT SEEMS TO BE THE PROBLEM?"

The Frankenmog shields their face with one great paw, the other waving away the skeleton and child. "Away, Away!", it cries piteously, "Take the scorching flames away from me, kupo!"
Despite their size, their 'kupo' is incredibly soft.
Chara takes a few steps back, keeping the torch far away from the Frankenmog. "It's okay," they say softly. "We're not here to hurt you."

It's saddening, but with luck, they'll make the wayward spirit feel good as new! Time will tell.
