Serge is cut off, unfortunately, by a trio of voices, raised in verse.
"-Fillet of a fenny snake, in the cauldron boil and bake! Eye of newt and tongue of frog-"
"It never was tongue of frog, it was toe."
"Don't you start with me, Sandy! Tongue of frog, says right here!"
"I reckon it was toes, dear. You know your 'andwriting ain't the best.
Serge... has to stop. Should they turn back? It sounds like they've interrupted something. He looks up at Terra, silently asking.
"I- oh, kupo nuts. Yes, yes, I see it, it was toes after all.
"You did at least bring one toe, didn't you?"
"I... I didn't, I thought we just needed the tongue-"
"Idiot girl. Cindy and I remembered to bring everything! We've been planning this evening for months and you've forgotten the toe of frog! I suppose you've forgotten slips of yew, as well!"
"Now it ain't all Mindy's fault, Sandy; now I think on it I think I've sat on me lizard's leg a bit-"
no subject
"Good evening, ma'am - uh, ma'ams."

The three share a look, and the tallest gathers herself up for a scathing retort.
"Does it look like you're interrupting something? Use your brains, you-"
"Now see here, Sandy, there's no call t'be rude about it! And besides, could be they'd be useful, 'elpin' us in our hour of need and all that."
"Oooh! Yes! We could get them to find the things we forgot and everything will be fine!"
no subject
"What do you need?"
no subject
"Yes! Like strips of yew! Which we're missing!"
"Oh, yes, and I did just mention sitting on me lizard's leg, goin' to need another one o' those..."
"And toe of frog! That's probably the most dangerous one, but there's tons of frogs around here! And, well. If you run afoul of one, come back here and we can certainly... sort that bit out."
Serge tilts his head, studying the three for a long moment. "Well... I mean if you're just making medicine-"
"Very important medicine. With herbs."
"-I don't see why we shouldn't help you, and those things aren't too hard to find, right? I think yew trees grow around here? And like you said, lizards and frogs all over..."
The tallest one, 'Sandy', clears her throat. "Hemlock."
Serge blinks. "Uh, sorry."
Thoroughly embarrassed, she adjusts her hat. "Root of Hemlock, dug in dark. I've forgotten it as well." She wilts, slightly, under the death-glares from the other two.

Terra pauses and gets out his iMog to write this down. "What does hemlock look like? I'm not great at plants."

He glances over at Terra, considering. "We should probably stick together while we're looking, just on the odd chance something nasty's around."
no subject
"Sure, no problem." Terra figures he can make it on his own, but Serge might not be so lucky. "What are you good at, in combat?"

He starts walking, holding his iMog slate in front of him with the pictures pulled up. Finding these plants can't be that difficult, can it? "The guildmaster I visited explained it in a weird way. It's not like a line, it's more like... a tree? With as many branches as you can imagine, only more, only just one of them's actually real and the rest sort of disappear as soon as you pick one, and the further up you try to look the less you can see so precognition further out than a few seconds is basically impossible and going backwards at all is really friggin' hard-"
He stops, looking up and shining the flashlight. "Hey, actually I think that's yew over there. Told you it grew in this area!"
