Spooky Scary Skeleton (And Other Friends) [Closed]

Where: The spookiest of spookplaces in Vaikuntha
What: Frisk gets a'exorcisin', and they call on a few friends to help out.

Frisk was always a fan of haunted house rides. At least when the staff wasn't chewing them out for sneaking in. The real thing, surprisingly, wasn't all that more creepy, and definitely more cute. At least sometimes.

Chara's glad that Frisk takes the initiative in calming the little guy down. Chara isn't sure how well they themselves could do at giving comfort at the moment, let alone over a missing head. That the ghost seemed so...jumpy and prone to surprise didn't help either.

Chara points to Frisk, wagging their finger. "Sounds like a plan to me," they say, before looking over to the ghost. "Hey, we'll be right back! Take a load off for now, and you'll have a new head good as wholesale soon enough."

Because the last thing they need is for the ghost to just take off again. Chara begins to look out around them, wishing that Sense Earth could work as a pumpkin sensor, but for now at least it might help them keep an eye on their ghost friend, at least for a little ways.

"This place looks like it should have pumpkins somewhere," Chara says. "Shouldn't take us all that long to find."

"Yeah! Just, uh... relax. And do whatever- wait, no, you don't qualify as a dullahan, never mind," Frisk says, their face making a human approximation of the "XD" emoticon. Somehow. They may have picked a few quirks up from the monsters in the Underground.

"Probably. There's a metaphor I could reach for, but the fact that we're surrounded by actual wheat would make it a bit too trite." Frisk smirks, waiting for Chara to pick up on the pun, before meandering off in a random direction.

"Lucky for you, you've got a metal detector with you," Chara says, smirking and tapping their forehead. "No needles are getting by us. Especially pumpkin shaped ones. Which really wouldn't make great needles if you thought about it."

They pause for a moment as they walk with Frisk, then say, "You wanted to ask me something before our headless pal showed up, partner?"

Frisk chortles at Chara's witty repartee, but their face darkens when Chara brings up the question they were about to ask. Oh, right. Thorny ethical spacetime manipulation dilemmas. Technically, they could just drop it, and it didn't even matter anymore, but... something still felt wrong. "So. You know the other Frisk, right?"

From the look on Frisk’s face, this might be a doozy of a conversation. Chara’s own expression darkens, though only a little. “Yeah, I talked to them a little,” they say. “They seemed...well, very you!”

"Yeah. That's the thing." Frisk sighs, putting their hands behind their head and looking at the sky. How were they even going to say this? "Okay, this is going to be a ride, so you might wanna grab your Spacetime Ethical Dilemmas-brand headache reliever.

"So, I talked to them, and... well, they've been through the Underground a lot of times. Like. A lot. So much so that they can do all the puzzles in Snowdin blindfolded, and in case you don't have those in your world, that's a lot of puzzle to do. And the thing is, they... apparently got a really good ending? An almost perfect one, actually. There was just one person that they couldn't save. So they went back and tried, again and again and again, to try and find a way to, well, save them, whoever they are."

Frisk shakes their head, frowning. "I mean, that's noble and all, but... don't you have to give up after a certain point? Isn't it kinda unfair to keep everybody else trapped down there for the sake of just one person, especially when you have a tried and true method for getting everybody else out? They aren't able to perceive it, sure, but it still feels... icky to me. And sure, I don't know who they weren't able to save, or if they're dead or something else, but still.

"And then there's how I'm not sure I wouldn't end up doing literally the exact same thing in their shoes! On a fundamental level, we're the same person. Slightly different genes, slightly different backgrounds, but we're still the same. So I'm probably the least qualified to assess this whole thing!"
