Spooky Scary Skeleton (And Other Friends) [Closed]

Who: Frisk, Papyrus, Baiken, Kuja, and Chara
When: All throughout October
Where: The spookiest of spookplaces in Vaikuntha
What: Frisk gets a'exorcisin', and they call on a few friends to help out.
Warnings/Notes: General fun spoopiness, will tag further as needed

Frisk was always a fan of haunted house rides. At least when the staff wasn't chewing them out for sneaking in. The real thing, surprisingly, wasn't all that more creepy, and definitely more cute. At least sometimes.

[OOC: Separate toplevels for separate quests.]

The ice distracted the dragon just long enough to aim its breath at wherever Frisk's attack came from instead of at Baiken, who crashed right into the thing, using Rokkonsogi to deliver a powerful cut against the armored scales.

Baiken used the momentum from her swing to bring herself around the back of the dragon, the chain remaining in place as a sort of bind, following Frisk's direction. She planted both feet on the dragon's back, bracing herself. Hopefully the dragon would go after Frisk and leave itself open...

Baiken took that as the opportunity to truly complete her own attack. The claw on the chain was finally released, the chain itself shredding along the scales and casting out sparks in high volume as Baiken retracted. Her sword was quickly sheathed, and she used the momentum of the chain's retraction to spin herself around, arm slamming into the already frost-bitten throat of the dragon, stopping him mid roar.

She called this Himawari, and all of the factor's of the dragon's sense of balance being thrown off, on top of Baiken's remarkable strength, aimed to literally slam the dragon onto its back from the force of it all.

Baiken had to quickly get herself out of there and dodge those magmaballs, more easily done now that the chain had been retracted, leaping away and landing in a low stance, sword raised before her, Azami active, just in case.

Azami activated, causing a resonate burst of ki from her sword, pushing back on the dragon as the Guard Point took hold. It gave Baiken time to release another Demon Tool, the Yashagatana, a literal actual cannon, appearing from her sleeve, firing off point blank right in the dragon's face.

Baiken was not as fortunate, the gale catching her and sending her flying a good distance, back slamming hard against an outcropping of stone, her body slumping to the ground.

Baiken sputtered, recovering with Frisk's help, but still winding up with more of that Elixir on her chin than otherwise. Still, it did the trick, and she forced herself to get back up, groaning.

"Damn... can't afford that mistake again. Any ideas? We seemed to be doing fine until it flapped its wings like that..."

"Shouldn't be a problem," she said with probably too much confidence for a person who just got literally blown away by the flap of a wing.

Once more, Baiken swung out the Kabari, the claw latching onto that same wing joint, shattering some of the frost that had formed there, Baiken pulling herself forward with the chain's retraction. Once close enough, she used Tetsuzansen to blast at the joint with as much as she could muster from her own ki, driving her blade into the now de-scaled flesh, attempting to rend the bone from its joint.

Leaping back, especially now that the wing was gone, Baiken flicked her sword clean before sheathing it again, pulling out her pipe and lighting it as she watched Frisk carry out their Melody attack. She figured now was a good a time as any to observe it, her own ready just in case they botched theirs, but she was pretty sure Frisk had the golden (hah) opportunity to take the dragon down once and for all.

Baiken had to admit, the headaches were annoying, but that ability was impressive none the less. She'd need another watch of it to fully understand what happened, though she couldn't argue with the results.

Pulling her pipe from her lips, she passed it over to Frisk, just to hold for her for the moment, as she stepped forward, at a fairly relaxed pace, towards the dragon. Unlike Frisk's almost heroic looking gold aura that shined when they had activated their Melody, Baiken's was profoundly different.

Crimson, like blood, flowing in and around her, a swirl of something cold and alarming, that most people beholding would find pierced right to their animal instincts of fearing for their own life. The energy was murderous, the true aura of a killer, red and menacing.

It all seems to crescendo, tension building and building, until in a flash, a literal blinding flash, Frisk could hear Baiken's sword being drawn, but nothing else seems to happen. The aura is gone, her sword is sheathed once more, and she takes back her pipe when she returns to where she'd been standing before, plopping herself down to continue smoking.

"Pay the respects to the Palace of Yama," she speaks, quietly, before the dragon collapsed, a spray of crimson mist shooting upward. That was the impact of Garyou Tensei.

Baiken didn't raise her fist to exchange the bump, simple letting out a trail of that likely now familiar, sweet smelling smoke.

"It gets the job done, that's all that matters. Garyou Tensei is the last step into hell. If you think of it as something admirable, you'll become entrenched in the scent of blood..."
garyoutensei: (no glamour no glory)

"Keep it," Baiken lifted her hand, open, mostly politely rejecting the offer.

"This sword may not be much, but it's gotten me this far without needing any augmentation, just the occasional cleaning and sharpening. I don't need anything else." Also, she didn't want to mess around with dragon magic, but it didn't make her spoken sentiment any less true.
