Event || Custom Fit

Who: All
When: September 10th to September 30th
Where: Curti Center and mines around the world
What: Characters assist Ganeshan in developing Custom Jobs.
Warnings/Notes: OOC Post

A. The Lab

As much as Ganeshan requires supplies to create Custom Jobs, he need help at home base. With the large number of potential applicants, outworlders and Curti Center employees are invited to help out in the lab, not only with testing transfer of Jobs to crystals, but in developing the abilities and running safety tests.

Easier said than done when all of these cats aren't roaming throughout the center and claiming everything to be their sitting spot. The interns are trying their best to catherd to little avail.

B. Job Development

The break room contains formal submission papers and pamphlets describing the steps required to develop a Custom Job. Senior employees are available to help characters workshop the abilities, but they mostly want to remain in the break rooms to avoid Ganeshan's constant Job mania. His booming voice is muffled through the doors, interspersed with allergic sneezing.

A room has been prepared for those to practice using their basic job abilities, primarily in making sure they're stable yet not too weak. There is a chance that an improper ability extraction can go wrong and hurt the user, so Ganeshan has group of White Mages are on standby in case things go south.

For those that would rather have all the fun without the work, there is the Ability Simulation and Modeling Room, where characters can design their abilities on the computer and see them play out on the screen before them. There's no limit here, and since Jessie is too busy to keep an eye on everyone, the outfits and visual effects have the potential to get...very, very silly.

C. Heigh-Ho

It's off to work you go. Those crystals won't mine themselves, and anyone strong enough must enter the mine in search of the necessary material. It's tedious, difficult work, and some of these are embedded so deeply in the rock that they might be more trouble than they're worth. Not to mention those gross bugs might not like their homes to be disturbed.

There's also the fact that monsters have a tendency to wander inside and attack, so they'll need some reliable body guards.

There should be more crystals deeper inside, but someone else will have to scout the area...

D. Explore the Dungeon

Which is where this team comes in. All the good stuff is deep in this mine, and reliable navigators are necessary to map out the tunnels without getting lost. There's also the fact that the previous owners of a time long ago didn't want opportunists to take their precious resources and outfitted the rooms with puzzles.

Door Locks are puzzles. Pressure plates activate traps. It's the ultimate test of critical thinking. Some of these don't make sense if you think for too long. Why did they go through all the trouble to program time-based puzzles with falling blocks and symbols? The Pupu are strange. At least the bats here are easy to fight, and the mine cart rides are fun.

"Aw that sounds so freaking cool! I'm ready for that sort of adventure even if I'm still a lower level."

"Huh...I honestly just thought he was ruining the thing by using it as a weapon. But I guess it hasn't broken yet." Melody remarked while Beastboy gave the guitar a twirl and and held it properly strumming the bass cords to test the acoustics. The sound reverberated beautifully and he grinned.

"I really gotta hook up with the other bards. Maybe we can have a big concert or like a battle of the bands or something...with real battling!" He laughed delighted at the mental image.

"Was the power of music awesome back on Crystallis too? I mean now that I can do cat stuff, and maybe get my shapeshifting back I was gonna ignore the bard thing but it's still kind of fun you know?"

"Kupo...well maybe you should be careful with it if you still want to use it to play music. Miss Chiaki had hers custom made so I guess it was more durable though...kupo, maybe Johnny could help you. He was on Crystallis too and I think he also plays guitar, kupo."

"But music could be very strong, kupo, and a lot of different people were making up their own songs from ones they knew from their world, kupo. Maybe it's different here? I need to look at that the guild pamphlet again..." The moogle reached into a side pocket of her satchel and fished around in search of it, if she'd kept a copy.

"We had a couple villains who liked to use music against us. Punk Rocket's music was the worst. It was like he thought if he just played as loud as he could we wouldn't notice he had no idea what he was doing." Beastboy mused thinking back to his own world.

"But on our side we had The Herald. His horn was SO cool! I could teleport you anywhere, even into other universes...which in hind sight kinda makes me wish he'd stop taking his sweet time and FIND ME ALREADY!!!"

There was a long pause as Beastboy waited for fate to make him the butt of a joke by having Herald and his friends finally appear but no such luck. Instead Melody just patted him on the head condescendingly.

"I'm not that lucky to have someone take you off my hands. I think we're stuck together."

Bonnie couldn't help but giggle at the nefariousness of Punk Rocket. Even if he was a serious villain it was somehow...comforting that such silly gimmicks existed?

As for The Herald, Bonnie joined in waiting with Beastboy in hopeful expectation of the sudden arrival of his friend. When that failed to happen she actually deflated a bit from the lost hope.

"Kupo, that would be a nice horn to have. If I could get in contact with Crystallis and the other worlds I bet we could solve whatever problems they have here no problem, kupo." But then she huffed and looked at Melody, "Kupo, there's no need to be rude to him like that."

Melody pulled a face at Bonnie standing up for Beastboy "You say that but you don't have to live with him."

"I think she just does it cuz she cares." Beastboy tried to deflect with a sheepish grin "I had a friend back home who could seem pretty mean at times but she really cared more then most people. I bet Melody likes me but has trouble saying it!"

The way Melody's face became red seemed to indicate he had guessed correctly and she swatted him before turning away. "Oh yeah right! Like I'm gonna be that much of a sterotype Kupo. You wish!"

It was a little too late for Melody to hide all the evidence of the truth as it was outed, even with such a well executed tsundere-swat. Bonnie brings her paws to her lips as she giggles in gentle glee.

"Oooh~ I see how it is now, kupo. You're definitely a good pair. I have high hopes for you two, kupo~"
