It wasn't as if Lelouch was aiming to alter the plan a little. Really, he wasn't. While he would undermine just about anyone, his half-sister was still close. He wasn't going to risk her safety. Perhaps Connie was right about the Chocobo Eater needing a Broil to the face. However that wasn't what Lelouch was going to supply. Instead he served up a Freeze spell.

With Connie knocked back and that beast growling towards her, at least they'd have a moment to step back and recover. Maybe they'd land a critical hit when immobilize took effect.
