[Bonnie was mostly attending the dinner for the food and the pride of being invited. She did want to learn about this world but she was willing to let others do the talking while she stayed ready for some sort of sneak attack. Maybe if things went bad they wouldn't think to go after a small moogle like her and she could go get help.

Of course, that line of thought gets blown out of the water as the Empress makes her introduction.]

Ah! It's the lady from the opera, kupo!

[rivieran]

[ The elf in the fancy gown was NOT expecting the Moogle beside her speak, and she jumps in surprise when Bonnie speaks. For a moment, she thought it was her own Moogle, but hers was just hovering behind her.

But never mind that. What a curious comment to make! ]

The lady from the opera? [ Ena glance back at the Empress, but she doesn't recognize her from the performance. ] That's the Empress. I don't think she was performing.

[Bonnie jumps just a little herself. It's an ingrained moogle response that if someone panics perhaps there's a reason to do so. But even if Ena doesn't recognize Bonnie, the moogle has seen her here and there.]

Um, no...she was sitting near me. We talked a little after the play ended, kupo. It seems that the legends here are similar to what happened on Crystallis, but she didn't know some things that happened, like Kalki stealing Ramza's body, kupo.

Oh. [ Okay, that made more sense.

No, wait, no it didn't. ] Wait, she was sitting next to you? Were you sitting in a private booth or something?

[The moogle shakes her head.]

Just the same normal seats everyone else was sitting in, kupo. I didn't sneak up into the box just to perch and be mysterious this time, I swear, kupo!

[ She glances sideways at the moogle and her insistence... ]

It's all right, I don't doubt you. I just thought you might've had the privilege, is all.

...But it's the other way around. How curious. Why do you think she did that?

Hmmm, well, one thing Mary taught me is that the best place to hide is in plain sight, kupo. It's easier to fit in if nobody thinks you'd be there in the first place. Or if they think you ARE supposed to be there. Maybe she was sitting in the regular seats to try to see us before we were all properly introduced to her, kupo.
