OTA
[She cleaned her claws well, dressed to cover what she could, and drew herself in as much as she could at the table, settling in quietly. Her eyes take in everyone - particular notes taken of the Prime Minister, the Commandant, and the Empress - before moving back to the rest of the dining hall. The others would have questions, but perhaps later she could make other inquiries of her own. For now, two eyes on her plate, six eyes keeping watch...]

???????
??????????????????????????
Sae Niijima????????
Okay no she knows this can't be Makoto's sis. Makoto's sis isn't part spider and there are some differences besides but still. The resemblance (at least of her... human parts....) is more than a bit uncanny. Either way, she spots an opportunity and ends up falling into step. ]
Any chance I could borrow your probably-avoid-me aura?
no subject
That's not possible. Though, if you require a tranquilizer or paralytic later for someone giving you trouble...
no subject
[ Wow she actually took that quite literally. Oops. Futaba sighs, running a had through her hair sheepishly. ]
Look, can I just. Stand here a while?
[ You are part spider and part pseudo-Sae-Niijima, and thus intimidating as heck. ]
no subject
You may.
[Though she does have to eye Futaba somewhat at the still odd request.]
no subject
She fidgets for a sec, and then... ]
I don't like crowds.
[ And there are aren't crowds here. So. ]
no subject
[Attention moving away from Futaba, her eyes resume looking around the room.]
How was the festival for you then?
no subject
[ Which is her surprisingly tactful way of saying 'I was expecting a trap tbh.' ]

You'd be surprised what's possible.
[ it's not like there's a government conspiracy back on her own world leaving a lot of people dead and brain-dead in its wake. ]
no subject
[She looks back at Futaba and gestures with a claw at... herself.]
no subject
Look, I don't actually know what your world is like. For all I know it's a whole planet of peaceful spider-people.
[ It's pretty clear that's not the case though, so she just lets it go to press on her point. ]
If there's a way they can get away with it without implicating themselves, or without the people below them fighting back, there's a lot someone in charge would do.
no subject
[She'd like to say this was the first time she heard such from someone about Futaba's age... but it's not.]
Oh yes. Still, as we've been invited, they would wait... until about now. Any citizen we've spoken to that may have implicated more than they liked or acted strange would've been dealt with the moment we gathered here. The risk of any of us seeing or detecting their motions earlier and alerting the others would not help them.
no subject
[ Does she actually want to know? She's not entirely sure.
Still, the idea of people here being hurt, even in hypotheticals, makes her scowl. Makes her hands grip tighter into fists. ]
... good point. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
[ She hates waiting. ]
no subject
[And maybe then she'll want to talk about it. Right now, she'd rather focus on the moment.]
Unfortunately. The tension's growing thick.
no subject
Probably won't hear anything at all until the dinner starts, right? Or... something.

We'll just have to see about fixing that at some point.

Once you feel sufficiently prepared.
