[If putting slices of behemoth steak onto cup noodles counts as a ‘new recipe’ back home, Ravus is sure whatever Kanji is doing counts.]

Have you tried to make anything with ingredients you did not have on your world? Sampling and recreating local delicacies seems to be a prevailing method of culinary exploration.

[From Ravus’ sample of one chef. It’s probably true, though.]

topgun_textiles: (I guess that's okay.)

Never. That sounds fun, though! I wanna make a unique Vaikuntha ramen or somethin'!

Like... a big-ass boiled chocobo egg dropped right in, too. Or is that too much? I tried one the other day and it was pretty damn tasty.

[Ravus thinks about the size of a chocobo egg and the standard serving of ramen. He's not a chef, but he can tell the ratio would be off.]

Perhaps if you were making a whole pot, with multiple portions. If you made it for your housemates, it might work, but it would be overwhelming if you tried to add a full egg to just one bowl.

I have also heard that adding steaks from local creatures can enhance the taste of the noodles.

[He has heard way too much about cup noodle ramen since he moved in with his current housemates.]

Oh man, monster steaks! That's my next project, legit! If I go out and kick some monster ass, then lug 'em home as food... I'd be like a real hunter or somethin', catch my own meals and live a little wild.

Hell, that's way healthier too!

[It's a barbarian's way to live, but Ravus keeps the thought to himself. If this teenager is applying himself to monster extermination and cooking rather than causing mischief, he should not discourage it.]

Just be careful about using anything venomous. You should probably consult a local before you serve your dish, to be safe.

[Ignis somehow gets edible meat out of the most foul of creatures, but the man is basically a master at the art. Ravus does not want to be accidentally responsible for the poisoning of an amateur.]

I heard stuff like blowfish is really bland, so I ain't about to carve into somethin' that can kill me with poison. I'll stick with whatever guides I can get my hands on.

...Meaning I should find some place where I can get those guides. Hmm.

I would assume the Gourmand guild would have extensive research on the edible species of the world. If you are in search of a cook book, you could start there.
